i decided to do stars instead of stripes since i thought they would fit better with trinket's markings! i colorpicked one of the darker blues from trinket's eyes as contrast & added a subtle light gradient so it wasn't entirely flat. i mimicked the star styles from trinket's markings for consistency & colorpicked from the coat colors, using a darker yellow for the bigger stars and a lighter yellow for the smaller stars. i tried to balance the star placement to where i thought it wouldn't crowd the bandana design. i also set the lineart to color burn to match with the style of the keepsie

jewel feels very plaid or gingham to me. i thought it'd be fitting with her basket as well! i used the inside of the basket as the main color since i felt the orange from the outside or from her eyes would pop too much. i kept the colors at low contrast so it wouldn't get crowded with jewel's light heart markings. i also added small heart patterns in the squares to go with her heart markings :)

this is my attempt at mimicking keepsie art style! the rest of my examples are in my own style

this is the best current pixel art example that i have, but i have been doing pixel art over time for several years. i can work on larger canvases (like above) with 2+px lines, and i can work on smaller canvases with 1px lines!

my pfp was made by me, and so was my signature
(my signature was modeled after older operating systems but the art itself was done from scratch aside from the background)
this oekaki drawing is also recent

Used the yellow from Trinkets' color palette for the stars. Also tried to make it look like the stars continued on the fabric hence the half stars on the edges.



I did want to do red plaid like a picnic blanket but I decided to try something different. Figured with her own spots, the leopard prints would look good. Also nabbed some colors from her eyes and adjusted them a bit for the spots.

for trinket, i started by using the darker blue colour from the eyes as the outline colour, as it's already quite vibrant like the rest of his lines, but still dark enough to contrast with the rest of the bandana. i then used the second darkest colour in his eyes as a base, and started drawing in the stars. i made sure to replicate the same shaped ones that are already on him, and chose to just use the three smallest variations since i thought smaller stars would be cute :] i then made the lower layer of the bandana the darkest colour, and applied a gentle gradient of the medium tone blue to the bottom of the bandana, and also lightened the stars in the same area. i played around with colouring some of the lines a lighter colour where the stars intersected, but decided against it for this case since the pattern is quite small, and multi-coloured lines here was more distracting.


for jewel, i initially went with a kind of crochet granny-square inspired kinda thing, with the same hearts as her patterns. i wasn't too sure about it so i pivoted and went with a gingham one inspired by her picnic blanket item from the recent hangout events. i hope it's okay to include both!

i'm very comfortable with both html & css, and have been coding on and off for about a decade! i'm mostly self-taught. i've only written some very basic javascript and am not as experienced with it.

yes, i've been using it several years as well. i'm not as familiar making more complex image-based designs in bbcode (typically seen in signatures), but can definitely handle more standard layouts like the stuff across the keepsies forums

i also work in figma for my graphic design work, and have used a variety of website builders in the past such as squarespace, wix and weebly. i haven't worked on any umas before, but i used to work on on the aj archives (and now defunct fer.al archives) some years ago with some admin, image/data management, as well as frequent website updates, uploads, and organisation!

For the first request I drew each of the stars and copied the color used on the eyes. I used layers for each color to make sure I could go back and easily fix something if I needed. I wanted it to have a lot of stars so I made sure to add plenty.


For the second request, I made two different scarf designs. I wanted to do something kind of holiday and winter themed. I made use of a couple different layers to really help me decide what I thought looked best. I also added a bit of shading to make it similar to the shading on the bandana in the first request.
I erased a bit of the scarf so that it could fit alongside the tufts on the face.

for this request i went with stars because it matches trinket's pattern a bit more! and also, i just love stars. i colorpicked from trinket's eyes so that it would be nice and coherent. i added a pretty subtle lighter blue swirly layer under the stars just so it has a lil bit of texture rather than being a flat blue. lastly i went in with a couple shades of yellow on the stars so they look extra sparkly! since trinket himself is pretty light on the shading, i left the bandana mostly unshaded so it matches him.

since jewel has really high contrast markings, i wanted to do a bit more subtle of a pattern on her scarf so it's not competing with the rest of her. since she herself is relatively analogous warm/brown, i thought a green would be a nice complement as well! i really love plaid scarves where you can see the woven texture on them so i thought i'd try that sort of pattern for her. i also moved the scarf around a bit since jewel is so fluffy so it looks like it's wrapped around her better, and i erased part so it goes "under" her head fluff and wing. since this scarf has several "layers" i shaded it more than i did trinket's bandana

For Trinket's request I color picked the blue from his eye's to start! From here I used the lighter blues from his eyes as shadows (low opacity) and general shading using blues of the same value. I used purples from his eye to shade the bandana to be cohesive & then put a purple overlay to make it fit perfectly! I didn't really have to do too much line editing for this one but I don't mind it. Really love how this one turned out!

I was much more experimental for Jewel's request, using the yellow from her eyes to find a green that worked well with it, and shading the base with a brown-yellow that tied in the brown from her coat. My shading technique is similar here, with a bright color in the shadows. These were color picked from her eyes as well (and edited slightly) & just like Trinket's I put a cohesive overlay of dark green (the lineart color) over top. ^^
