For whatever reason today is unbearably hot and humid. Even though Linus and shortstop make a valiant attempt to actually leave their campsite, it’s simply too hot to do anything so you spend the day with Linus cooling off in a nearby stream. Unfortunately you've failed to progress up the mountain today.
You gain 130 feet and 20 SAR points from your story about exploring the long-abandoned homestead - at least you got a snack out of it! You also gain 40 feet from Cayenne's personality and likes/dislikes list!

While hiking Marek and werepickle come across a recently cleared stretch of trail - you can still smell sawdust in the air and there is a fallen tree that has been cut up and moved off of the trail. Thank goodness for their hard work! You've progressed 327 feet up the mountain!

While Chester and Gasparluna844 are hiking, Chester manages to find someone's car keys that have fallen between two large rocks. Omen and Frisco are walking up a rocky section of trail when you come across an old stone wall. You wander around trying to find a building or structure, while Omen picks up a particularly large stick and happily trots off with it. You've progressed 336 feet up the mountain!

Today has been pretty windy on the mountainside, and as Delta Dawn checks the paper trail map it's blown out of their hands! Writing: Story regarding the event featuring #A-0005 SM's Read Between the Lines//Linus [364 words]

Linus and the trainer had managed to make it around the tree and back to the trail. Unfortunately, this had taken them most of the day. Night was falling as the trail came back into sight. The trainer sighed, but Linus was just relieved. He was sure that they couldn't afford to lose the trail again. The two of them spent the evening setting up their camp again. As they settled in for the night, Linus daydreamed about what the peak of the mountain would look like. Would the view be as impressive as he imagined?
The next morning, Linus awoke and found that he had thrown the blanket off of his body during the night. The trainer had also managed to wiggle their way out of the sleeping bag they used. It took Linus a moment to realize just how hot it was. The air was heavy with humidity. Linus immediately felt exhausted all over again. He pushed himself up to his feet and stuck his head out of the tent.
It was equally gross and warm outside as well. He stepped outside and found some shade, but it didn't provide much relief and he was soon panting. The trainer was soon up with him, grumbling about the sudden change in weather. They attempted to pack up, Linus helping as much as he could by fetching various things. But they barely got halfway through before they simply had to stop. It was just too hot to do anything. There was no way that they'd be able to carry all this stuff. Someone was going to get hurt.
They decided to stay close to the camp instead of continuing. Linus found a stream nearby, and led the trainer to it so that they could both get a much needed drink. It got hotter as the day wore on. Linus decided to get into the water to try and find some relief. The trainer didn't even scold him for it. They just took off their shoes and dipped their own feet into the stream.
Linus sunk into the water until only his head was above it. He hoped the following day wouldn't be as warm.
