Prompt: Subira walked next to Tederick, thankful that he hadn’t been harmed by the strange ritual he had performed with the goddess. Even so, the old cat looked just plain lonely, like he had no one left in the world.

She was glad that she had gotten him out of the strange chamber. The whole place had given her an unsettling feeling that latched its claws in her pelt and skittered up her spine. The goddess had said nothing as Subira had guided Tederick away, just watched them with her glowing green eyes.

Subira was just headed to Tederick’s garden when a strange scratching sound made her stop in her tracks. She noted where it was, then hurried Tederick back home, trying to get back as quickly as possible to see what it was.

“Thank you, young one,” Tederick said as they reached his garden.

“No problem,” Subira said, not caring if she was being a bit rude by leaving so quickly. “I’ll come back and see you soon!” With that last remark thrown over her shoulder, Subira rushed away, loping down the tunnels to see what had been making noise.

It wasn’t a well-used tunnel, with only a couple stray lions passing by and faint lighting coming from a crystal set in the ceiling. But the fresh pile of dirt sitting on the ground caught Subira’s eye. Realizing that she had no idea what was strange around here and what wasn’t, Subira went back to the tunnel mouth and told a nearby guard of the problem.

As Letaba escorted Tederick back to his house. She heard the odd scratching sound in the tunnel but the older cat didn’t hear much anymore it seemed like. If this was going to be anything like the last vermin incident. She was definitely out of there hotter then hot. Letaba’s tail flicked as she helped Tederick into a cozy spot,“Diablo sends his care, you meant the world to him.” She said before heading out and making sure that Tederick was all settled with whatever he needed in his tiny home then she dipped avoiding the new found mole problem at stake.

So Letaba continued sprinting until she made it to her new den in the tunnels before shrieking and running out of the tunnels again because of the furry little demon mole. Letaba said this wasn’t her problem and it definitely wasn’t so she holed her self up in the trees where no demon mole could harvest her ankles. This wasn’t the moves for her and well now she was definitely worried about Tederick now. But Letaba knew the old cat could definitely kick some mole but so she curled up into a small happy ball in a swaying pine tree.

Kina was not a coward. She did not want to just turn around and ignore whatever issue she was staring at, even if it was only temporarily abandoning the crisis so that she could find some back up to help her check out the source of the noise with. Despite the fact that going to check it alone was needlessly dangerous, the black and brown lioness thought that it made her brave to go and check it out by herself, even knowing the risk that that posed to her and her safety.

Others would say it made her foolish, but Kina chose to ignore that even being within the realm of possibilities. She wasn't stupid. She just didn't let "what if's" stop her from doing what was right. There was nothing foolish about that.

"What do we have here?" She murmured, tail swishing back and forth as she carefully approached the tunnel. Her nose wrinkled as she got closer to the pile, forcing her to turn her head away just to help her avoid smelling it head on. "Disgusting. We're just gonna maneuver around that..."

Kina carefully stepped around it, peering down the tunnel. "Anyone there?" She called out, taking another hesitant step forward. Under her breath, she mumbled, "Please do not be someone or something that is going to attack me."

Prompt: Yuki was huffing indignantly in a corner with her back turned and harks flattened as her tail whipped around to and fro, muttering under her breath at how nothing was going right since she got here. As the others worked on getting Tederick awake and moving, once they were ready to escort him Ferdinand walked over to Yuki to nudge her into leaving. Tranquil yelling "He's ok, just tired." however that was soon drowned out by the sound of those coming to fight the goddess's battle once again this perhaps being the final battle to be. Whipping around, catching Ferdinand off guard with the matter of factness in the swath of her tail comanding to follow he fell back on his haunches gasping.

Covering his maw, he regained his dignity quickly enough to hurry up and get on the road as they had alot to prepare for, Tranquil was being her usual chatter boxy self when she stopped in her tracks. She was hearing something as her harks flicked about to and fro trying to find the source of it before Ferdinand called to her to catch up. Now sniffing she thought that maybe it was moles and rushed to catch back up. Cocking her head with a whimsical but concerned head tilt "I heard something back there. Do you think we should look into it?" glancing back at her friend Yuki sighed saying "Yes, but lets bring help; Might as well make them earn their tuna." flicking her ears back thinking that Tedrick was the first priority.

While he wasn't exactly happy that he had gotten a single word out of the Trinity tree, he just ultimately woke up Tederick and got him back underground. He could feel the thickness of the air in his nostrils, the scents of death and decay beginning to waft from the forests close by. Those creatures were coming again, and the last thing he needed was to have an old cat outside in the possible line of fire.

So Axel took him back underground, into his home and safely left him there, promising he'd be back after this whole fiasco was over. However, on the way back, he did notice a strange pile of dirt within these tunnels... odd... This tunnel wasn't often used, by the looks of it, and yet this pile looked as fresh as the morning dew. His bloody colored eyes squinted at that, he soon leaning forward to sniff at this pile of dirt. Hmm... To call for backup? ...Nah! Who needs backup? Axel can get things done by himself, no problem! He can do this on his own and he can even handle himself on his own. What's a pile of dirt going to do to him?

Time to go deeper into these tunnels. "Look's like I got a date... with whatever's down here." (218 wc)

Limpet had been beyond relieved to find that Tederick III had not in fact been dead under that tree. Almost jumping out of his skin when the old tom stood after being still for so long. Finding himself now coaxing the elder back under the tree. Sensing the signs of another battle being prepared above he could faintly hear the sound of someone, or something digging nearby. Making sure Tederick III made it back safely and with a promise to come back after the battle Limpet backtracked through the tunnels untill he found where he heard the sound. The tunnels here seemed abandoned and unused for quite a while. His investigation only turning up the clue of a freshly dug portion of the tunnel itself. Sniffing the air gave little results as the faint air flow and damp earth hindered the ability to track scents down here. Limpet knew that these tunnels could lead anywhere and he could easily end up lost for hours without ever meeting what had caused the disturbance. Carefully following the trail that lead him down here tbe leader knew he needed someone who knew the tunnels like the back of their paw. Limpet needed backup to help find this mysterious digger. Hopefully before the storm and battle broke overhead.

"Oh, thank the gods, he's not dead."

Calida stared back at Caspian who muttered this as if she thought him crazy; sheepishly, he spoke further. "...I just thought the worst, y'know? Just saying..."
"You thought he was dead?" she spoke, amused. "Hah... that's funny."
"Listen...!"

The two managed to coax him out of the room, somehow, despite whatever response they recieved from the goddess; the two nearly-kits managing to cheer up the old tomcat somehow, possibly - trying to get him somewhere nicer.

"Aren't they preparing up there?" Caspian wondered, his blue eyes focused on the space above their head. "I can hear them..."
Although the sense of foreboding wasn't as strong as it would have been on an adult cat completely aware of the situation, the two knew that these forces were clashing soon.

And they weren't quite sure if they were ready.

After the two escorted Tederick III back, they stopped for a moment, clearly wondering if the other had heard a sort of noise; Calida spoke first.
"Did you hear the scratching sound? When we were taking that old cat back?" she spoke, her mismatched eyes round.
"Yeah..." Caspian muttered. He knew where this was going.
"Let's go check it out."

Although Caspian wasn't quite sure of it himself, he knew that she was determined.
And it was hard to break her from that.

So he followed.

Aluraune was pretty much shocked the old cat was still alive. He was sitting so still, she just assumed he had passed on. Aluraune led him, ever so slowly, back to the city where he'd be safer, and among others. Along the way, Aluraune heard the strangest scratching noise. Upon depositing old Tederick in some poor, young guardian's paws, Aluraune turned and went right back to the hidden tunnel to investigate.

Immediately, Aluraune found the strange pile of dirt, as if someone had just been digging there. Normally, Aluraune would pass it off as nothing but lately she felt things were... off about this tree. This definitely warranted investigating, and not the kind with the prying eyes. No, Aluraune couldn't go telling the guardians about this. What if it was something valuable? Or something dangerous? Aluraune just had to dig this pile up and see if anything was hidden in the dirt below. This could be something to finally give Aluraune the edge she needed. She gave the pile a quick sniff first, checking for any discernible scents, and then she got to digging, quickly, on the off chance that someone else stumbled into this tunnel with her, even if chances were low.

Sen was about to leave the old cat be when he was stopped by a guard.

- Oh, thank you sir for finding him! You’ve helped us so much, we were worried about the old man. He really doesn’t have anyone who would take care of him. We visit him from time to time, but the job of a guard is never done and we have very little time.

Sen understood him all to well.

- Could you escort him back to his home?

Sen opened his mouth ready to refuse, but the guard didn’t let him take voice.

- It’s dangerous out here, we think that the army of decay will be approaching soon. He cannot stay here and we have to warn the other citizens.

Sen sighed. That’s exactly why he should be preparing instead of taking care of old cats, but how could he refuse? As one guardsmen to the other, he felt obliged to help. He nodded. The guard thanked him and went on.

Waking up Tederick III has proved more difficult than he expected.

- Marlevort! - Sen noticed his companion and called him over in something that was half a whisper half shout.

The little cat walked over to him and looked at Tederick.

- Is he dead? - he asked in a conversational tone.

- What? No. He’s just sleeping, but very hard. Can you maybe help me… carry him… hm - Sen realised that there was no way the small kitten could help him. - Come with me anyway.

With Marlevorts help he put Tederick over his shoulder and they made their way to his house in the tunnels. After leaving him safely in his own bed, they returned to a particular tunnel where they heard a weird noise coming from.

- I can go and check it out - offered Marlevort.

Sen was about to enter the tunnel on his own because investigating situations like this would be his normal reaction back in his home world. But he wasn’t home. He was running around all day helping grumpy lions, planting saplings, breaking curses and babysitting old men. It was time for the guards to do something for him.

- No - replied Sen and actually laughed. - I have a better idea.

This was the first time he would get to make the call instead of responding to it. It gave him a feeling of great satisfaction.

- Guards! Guards!
