eak or something she isn't. but if she ends up being scared of losingg
someone or they end up getting hurt, she immediately turns off her s

Personality: Mateo is a shy and quiet teenager who really doesn’t have much to say. He is kind despite all of his quietness. Sometimes you might catch this quiet male doing a kind act. He is helpful and always is looking for a place to belong. He doesn’t classify himself as a valuable asset right now and more of a burden that people have to deal with since he is still a greenie or the newbie. Though he does think there are some good things he does. Mateo is a great helper and an amazing storyteller. This kid could make up an idea for a story on the fly and entertain himself for hours on end trying to figure out the plot and what characters are included. He is very imaginative and can sometimes get himself lost in his own creativity. Don’t think he isn’t attentive, he is very much attentive to the things that go on around him and takes things within the Glade very seriously. Mateo is not one to lash out, but if you get him angry you might just see a rare lash out from him. Most of the time he is usually pretty chill minding to his own business and not trying to pick fights.

Mateo isn’t one to flirt with others as he tends to wait and let the universe decide when the appropriate time is for him to love which at this moment he isn’t actively searching for love. I mean he is only fifteen so in his mind he is still too young to actually care about love. He has never really been someone to use charm to his advantage. Mateo isn’t super competitive and will probably just watch stuff occur. He usually doesn’t do bold actions, but there have been a few times where Mateo has done some rather rambunctious and downright bold actions. While he is no push over, Mateo is a big softie with a compassionate heart. While he values hard work in himself, he understands that everyone’s goals and perspective of themselves is different than his in most cases. It breaks this young male’s heart to see people look down on themselves and put themselves down. He would totally go give them a large bear hug and try to tell them that they are a really good person. Maybe there is some child innocence left in him, but he usually can see reality and understand what exactly is going on around him and what the emotions of the other people in the Glade are. Mateo has a perspective that everyone is good and usually has a somewhat positive outlook on what he sees. While he is not gullible and can be easily manipulated, Mateo is 1000% a follower than a leader. He lacks leadership qualities and would prefer to just follow. He is a rule follower...most of the time. In general, Mateo is your quiet, kind, and compassionate human being.
