filling big shoes. When you're only 5'3", filling said shoes isn't exactly easy. In her youth,

    โžค As the youngest and the smallest, Kennedy knew her
    voice and attitude was about the only thing she could rely on to be seen as a threat.
    It is her personal mission to be loud and unapologetic, and to push others to surpass
    their limits (despite her desperate desire to be in charge.) At age 11, her four brothers
    moved out and left her alone with her parents, and her older sister, Bekah. Unfortunately,
    it isn't uncommon for sisters to not get along- and there was no example more clear than
    Bekah and Kennedy. Bekah ridiculed Kennedy's brash, bold, and boy-ish nature,claiming that she would never find anyone who would tolerate and take a girl like Kennedy seriously in a romantic way. Kennedy lunged at her sister, striking the first blow, but soon recoiled at her sister's defensive attack. One "I hate you!" later, and Kennedy was blazing through the woods. Unbeknownst to any of the Finch family, this would be the last time anyone would see Kennedy again.
    As fate would have it, another creature was fleeing their home- in the same woods and on the same night- as Kennedy. Some call it a terrible accident, others call it a viscous attack- but any way you put it, Kennedy was bitten by a werewolf. All she can remember of that night is blood, warm arms around her, and hazy moonlight.

    Much to her surprise, this creature of the night
    had an unshakable guilt for what it had done-- and also
    a sweet cabin in the woods that she could stay in and avoid ever
    having to face the inevitable looks of horror on her families' faces.
    This werewolf raised her and taught her everything she needed
    to know, until he eventually passed from wounds Kennedy would
    never get to know who caused. She was taken in by pine knob
    soon after, and a fire of revenge still blazes strong in every move
    she makes, nearly 2 years later.

Devlin Antonio Austin, is not what you would call a social butterfly. His personality tends to rub people the wrong way upon first meetings, and its not until a person gets to know him (if they ever bother to stick around long enough to do so) that they start to see the inner qualities that make him a fairly decent person. To the outside, he seems cold, arrogant and downright rude, but the few friends that truly know him he's caring, honest and loyal to a fault. If you earn his trust he will follow you to hell and back. Unfortunately for Dev he does not trust easily, nor does he particularly like people as a whole. When asked he's never able to give a solid answer as to what caused his annoyance with people or his mistrust, always mutters something about people never changing before moving onto another topic.

He has a hard time getting closed to people, largely due to the fact that everyone he had ever been close to before is now gone from his life in one way or another. He gets along better with men, which he thinks is mostly because he's able to understand them more than and he has an easier time articulating his thoughts to other men. The women that had been in his life previously had never stuck around long enough for him to actually get to know them, and he has a misguided notion that he is undesirable to the opposite sex. For this reason he gets nervous very easily around women, especially women with any sort of real power over him, but he's adopted the philosophy of "fake it until you make it" and tries his hardest not to let this nervousness get the best of him.


He is incredibly self conscious about the scars that cover his body. These scars were given to him during the attack on his family, and the fights that he continued to have as his time spent as a wolf to ensure his survival. The most notable is a three inch long scar on his right thigh from werewolf claws, bite scars on his left shoulder from werewolf teeth and several other claw marks on his back. In additional to those large scars he has several smaller scars all across his body, mostly on his arms and lower legs, from fights with other wolves in the wild. His right arm in particular has visible scars made by teeth just below the elbow. Originally he had been proud of these scars and considered them battle trophies and proof that he deserved to survive, however he now views them as marks of the weak, a mangled branding of his inability to properly defend himself. He is afraid anyone who sees them will judge him as weak and deem him unworthy, so he rarely ever shows them to anyone.

When Devlin was a child, his family had lived in rocky wilderness of northern Ontario, in part of the province that was rarely inhabited by humans. His mother had been afraid of them and wanted to avoid them, after a run in with them when she was younger had killed her father. What she didn't know, was that it was actually other werewolves that they had to fear most. When Devlin was 8 another pack, much larger than their own small family of 6, decided that his home was their territory. They fought, his father defending them while his mother attempted to protect himself and his siblings. Both his parents, his two older brothers, and his younger sister did not survive the attack. The only reason he was able to live was because another wolf in the rival pack had taken pity on him. She had felt sorry for the poor crying, shivering boy who had been too scared to hold a turn without the pull of the full moon. He had been wounded, but he was alive, and she took him away from the battle. He roamed on his own for many years, staying in his wolf form as long as he was able to, but as he started to enter his twenties he started to miss talking to people again. So he continued to roam, but doing so more in his human form until he was eventually found by Dimidian and the older wolf also took pity on him and decided to be a mentor of sorts. Because he lost his family at such a young age he had never really been taught the majority of basic werewolf things, he father hadn't taught him how to control his shifts because he hadn't been able to complete a shift before the attack. When the two of them had finally found the Pine Knob pack he thought that hd had finally found a place that he might be able to belong, and he swore he would never allow what happened to his first family happen to this one.

Sao is probably the only female in the pack that Devlin does not feel instantly
self-conscious around. The fact that she is blind and cannot fault him for his
appearance and scars makes it easier for her to talk to and so far they have
remained on friendly terms.

Dev gets along easier with Alex, understanding her desires not to shift from
his brief stretch of denying his own. He wants to help her overcome the issues
