the rivalry between rockclan and treeclan has been going since the founding of the two clans. no one really knows how it started, no one knows if it will ever end. what they do know is that to survive, they must fight.

the two clans call the towering redwood forests home, one clan nestled on a rocky cliffside and the other preferring the crowded comfort of trees and coverage. they meet each other every full moon in a tentative truce at an enormous and mysterious black stone called blackrock. the peace is thin and tensions are always high.

when snow starts falling from the sky for the first time in known history, the two clans are faced with a threat to both of their survivals. prey is scarce and cats are getting sick and cold. with every snowflake that falls, the clans are in more danger. will rockclan and treeclan set aside their long and violent history to band together for survival? or will they fight for the survival of one? only starclan knows, and they aren't telling...

rockclan and treeclan are feuding. they are hostile to each other except at gatherings. they are fighting over the river mostly, but any other drama can be added as we go. we will start as usual, the weather is hot, greenery is lush, and the river is flowing as per normal. slowly things will start to change however; snow will start instead of rain, prey will become scarcer. I will announce when these changes should start appearing. no one knows why it is snowing and starclan has no answers. let chaos ensue! eventually, the entire forest will be covered in snow and the river will freeze over. cats will start to become unwell. this is the first snowfall that anyone can remember. it is up to everyone involved to decide whether the clans will band together to survive and help each other or fight until just one survives. all drama is encouraged! have fun!

rockclan is nestled quite close to a cliff overlooking a large part of the forest. they make their camp in quite a rocky area with sparse coverings. most dens are in crevices in the rocks.

> the river
a bustling river separates the two clans. it is rich with fish and the two clans are constantly fighting over the right to hunt there. currently TREECLAN has the right to hunt here (but that can always change...)

> blackrock
a mysterious and large shiny black rock that sits quite close to the river. it is technically on treeclan's side, which is why they feel they have more of a right to the river than rockclan does. the blackrock itself is where the two clans meet and also where leaders and medicine cats go to share dreams with starclan. when the moon hits it, it glows white and sparkles. not much is known about the history of the rock, but it is a sacred place. hunting and fighting are forbidden here.

> twolegs
the territories of rockclan and treeclan are both technically located in a national park for twolegs. although they live in an area that is quite quiet, the occasional adventurous twoleg can be seen or scented. there are also some rough trails that are sometimes used nearby. while the river is also quiet, there are sometimes twolegs fishing or kayaking. there are no kittypets around, however, because there are no actual twoleg nests nearby. any spottings of twolegs would be rare, but not impossible.

mousepaw is a very fluffy young she-cat with grey and white fur. she is a very quiet and calm cat, and when she speaks she is always very sweet and earnest. she loves to love things and can often be found daydreaming or crushing on other apprentices (her crushes are always quite quick and insincere, she considers herself a hopeless romantic despite having no romantic history...). one day she wants to become a mother and raise kits of her own. this leads her to be rather lazy and half hearted in her warrior training, as she would much rather be talking with the queens and kits in the nursery. when she does put her mind to her task though, she can be efficient and is an especially gifted hunter. she can be rather naïve sometimes.

born into rockclan to a litter of three kits, her upbringing was rather normal. she was always a pretty quiet and reserved kit, which led her mother, frostfang, to think there was something wrong with her. little mousekit had nothing wrong with her, however. she was just too busy thinking instead of speaking. she grew out of that a bit when she became an apprentice and was able to socialize with more cats. although she is quite uninterested in becoming a warrior, she continues with her training as an apprentice.

adderfang is a flat grey tom with piercing yellow eyes. he is of a medium build. adderfang as a cat is quite secretive. he doesn't like to share much of himself with other cats and for that reason he is quite mysterious. he can come across as very harsh and critical, especially when speaking to apprentices. he can be rather rude (while fully meaning to be) and is not afraid to doubt other cats. to the few friends he does have, however, he can actually be rather funny and very loyal.

adderkit, or jaggedkit as he was then known, was actually born into rockclan to a queen named dashstep. he was her only surviving kit. his father was a tom named leafwhisker, the deputy of treeclan. such relationships are extremely forbidden. dashstep and leafwhisker had fallen deeply in love and loved jaggedkit even more, but when dashstep fell ill and passed away, it was up to leafwhisker to do something. he was not about to let his only living kit grow up in the rival clan, so he independently broke into the rockclan camp and stole jaggedkit. he had masked his scent well enough that the trail could never lead back to him. he then asked a recently made queen, flickertail, if she could raise his son as one of her own. she reluctantly agreed, and although the other queens swore she only had three kits, she now claimed to have four. young jaggedkit was renamed adderkit and although rockclan complained of a stolen kit at the next gathering, there was no proof (although some suspected). adderkit grew up into treeclan after that and became a warrior after a normal apprenticeship. he was given the name adderfang for his fierce killing bite and is ignorant to the truth of his true parentage. he now serves treeclan loyally and is silently in love with a fellow warrior, swanfern.

Echocloud is a starling mix of her parents, from her mother she gets her shinny and sleek coat. Her coat is mostly white in color, with splashes of silver and light gray splattering her coat in such a way, some joke that she could have been named Ripple and not Echo. Echocloud has bright yellow eyes like her mother, and a dark burgundy-brown-hued nose and paw pads. Despite the fact that her coat is dominated by white, it's easy to tell she got her mother's tickle tabby coat as well. For one so young, the she-cat already has a few scars, though they aren't terrible to look at.

Echocloud was born just twenty-eight moons ago to a single litter of four, with a single sister and two brothers. She has had a normal life in the clan so far. Paleflight, her uncle has taken the place of her absent father, who refuses to even acknowledge her, her siblings, or her mother. While not a prankster, she's known to cause trouble every now and then.

Paleflight is a long-limbed tom, built for running. The toms build makes him rather agile and a high amount of endurance, making him one of the fastest cats in the clan. He has a pale smokey silver-white coat, that easily hides him in leaf-bare. His fur is rather short, and his face on the round side, with sharply pointed ears. Paleflight also has a set of pale gray-blue eyes that tend to resemble stone. Like his siblings and both of his parents, he was born with a very short tail and has strong hind legs. He has a few scar's though most are minor, the most notable is oddly enough on his tail where he's missing a patch of fur.

Born to Whitepool and Frozengaze, along with a Frostkit and Quietkit, his sister and brother respectively. Palekit led - for the most part- a rather normal life for the first moon or so of life. Though things shifted when it was found out that his brother Quietkit was born mute. After this non-secret came out - after all, in Palekit's mind, it was already obvious that his brother was mute. - all of his parents time and affection went to Quietkit, while Frostkit and Palekit were left to fend for themselves. This didn't change after the trio became apprentices, it really only got worse. Neither of their parents would even acknowledge their existence, and publicly only claimed Quietpaw as their son. At this point, Palepaw went from creating trouble to get attention, to what he is now. While he still acknowledges his parents and siblings as such, the tom refuses to form any such emotional attachments to anyone. Palepaw was given the warrior name of Paleflight after managing to take down a large raven in mid-flight.
