If Michiko could be summed up into one word, it would be irritable. While her resting face may be
pleasant and even friendly looking to some, it is only a misleading sign in discovering her true
disposition. Although, politeness did not slip this one as she has manners...to some degree.
She carries herself with a sense of poise/pride but diplomacy is not in her vocabulary, she’s
not here to make friends after all. Others would describe her as being “cold” or “harsh” due
to her blunt vocalizations, however, she sees no reason to sugarcoat her words or she poses
the risk of being potentially misunderstood. While this may be true, the reasoning behind this
lies in the woman’s lack of social skills. Crowds and new people in general are overwhelming
which can cause her to sometimes snap intentionally, just to avoid congregating with unfamiliar
faces. With her negative attitude comes her negative take on the world as well. Overly judgmental
would be an easy way to express how she makes sense of her environment. Michiko is quick to write
people off, only expecting the worst from them on their end without really giving them much of a
chance. It could be said that this is a coping mechanism she possesses, one to protect that overly
emotional being that resides deeply inside of her (she’s a crybaby, for sure). In other words, fear seems
to have a death grip on her heart, making her shy away from even the concept of love itself. Speaking
of love, how does she approach it? She doesn’t. In fact, keep that as far away from her as possible.
Even thinking about something mushy leaves her a flustered mess. She acts repulsed by romance but
man, is she a softie for innocent love (hand holding, blushy confessions, first kisses, etc.). Genuine
acts of kindness are often quite foreign to her, leading to further embarrassment as she does not know
how to receive such things.

xxxSurprisingly enough, Michiko was not born a pessimist; rather she was molded and shaped into the worrisome individual she is today based on past experiences. To
xxx be more specific, her childhood was great... until it wasn’t. Like most misunderstood folk, Mc’s life was perfectly fine up until the passing of her mother. Long
xxxstory short, her father took her death surprisingly well, even going as far as to quickly go searching for a replacement partner, leaving Mc and her older sister
xxxhome alone many many nights. A newfound independence arose in Michiko, one born from her trauma which soon evolved into the person she is today. She
xxx tries to reason her disdain for the subject by giving the whole “love isn’t real” spiel but in reality, it’s only her deep rooted insecurity of being forgotten and
xxxnever truly loved that is holding her back. Sounds pretty cliche, huh? Well, it does not stop there as she is stubborn as a mule and refuses to acknowledge
xxxher emotional baggage. This woman stands her ground on anything and everything, never wavering, not even on her deathbed. After all, she “knows herself
xxxbetter than anyone else.” Being a know-it-all gets old though, doesn’t it? She would never say yes, obviously, but the young woman actually harbors an
xxxextremely guilty conscience. For her actions, past, and then some. Her inner self is just a swirling ball of bottled up and unchecked emotion, always on the verge
xxxof just bubbling over randomly one day. This causes Michiko great stress which also contributes to her seemingly constant ill temper.

Aires, or “Theon”, uses the motion of the world around
him around him to settle his whirling mind, to anchor himself to
one place. As the world changes around him, he uses that inertia
to make sense of who he is, defining himself by how the world
around him interacts with itself.
He picks up easily – or so he has to assume – on where other
people are at and how they approach the world. He knows he can’t
figure everyone out, but that doesn’t keep him from trying… even
if it ends poorly. He has a tendency to make snap judgements for
that reason – some of which can be extremely far off the mark –
especially when the other person is not very open; often
assuming it means they dislike him. Enough of the people here at
the resort seem as though they are protecting and closing
themselves off from each other (or could it be just from him?),
and it leaves him feeling lost in a sea of people he may never
fully understand. Which is discouraging, so he does what
he does best: try to turn himself right-side-up
by connecting with whomever he can.
Aires feels most comfortable when he’s around other people who
seem open and unassuming, giving him a way to ground himself and
feed off how others are interacting – something of a social
vampire, but not needing to be in the spotlight. If he’s by
himself for too long – or even just one or two other socially
closed-off people – he loses part of his sense of being, needing
to define himself in relation to others. At least in a group, if
he doesn’t know how to interact with one person he can shift his
focus to a different discussion to keep his balance.
