- physical appearance
β³ xxxelfie is five foot eight, slender, with clear skin and bright, shining eyes. her hair is a wavy brunette that appears
black when not exposed to direct sunlight. fitting to her name, she has an elvish look about her, if one ignores her gr
aceful and taller-than-average build. she seems to be able to switch her appearance at will with a change in posture,
a blink of big, striking blue eyes. when this shift occurs, she goes from rather unassuming and average to the centre
of attention. if she tried to, she could contend with the aphrodite cabin in terms of appearance, though most of her t
ime spent at camp is spent trying to look as obscenely 'normal' as she can muster.

β³ xxxthough once upon a time she thrived on attention, elfie is somewhat inward nowadays. often reckless, capable of
intense rudeness, volatility and stubbornness - and sometimes a touch manipulative, she's got an image that she likes
to maintain as someone who is untouchable. she avoids emotions deemed 'confusing' or 'scary' like the plague, fearful
of the concept of commitment and vulnerability. otherwise, she's down to earth, does her best to be kind, and has an
outgoing streak that lends itself to natural leadership. elfie has a profound dedication to her craft and her camp, and
will stop at nothing to achieve improvement. she feels the need to prove herself and her capabilities more than would
be considered normal - doesn't want to be seen as a spoilt brat who's had everything handed to her - though can often
lose focus or tunnel on something that does not help her in the long run. conflict-averse but happy to listen to the occ
asional bout of gossip, and in need of near-constant stimulation to prevent boredom, it's easy to underestimate her an
d difficult to earn her trust - but once earned, she becomes highly protective and loyal.

β³ xxxat eleven, elfie decided that she wanted to be an actress. her mother was emotionally unreachable, unstable in
many senses, controlling to a high degree - and when she expressed this yearning, it wasn't long before she was being
paraded in front of potential agents, mother dearest searching for a paycheck and the bragging rights of a daughter su
rrounded by fame. the attempt wasn't going well. not the right face; not the right vibe; too young to be a real actress;
too old to be a child star - but in her last audition, something shifted. all of her energy was poured into wanting to be
liked, adored, and by the grace of dionysus, this was granted. hired on the spot, without even saying her lines, put int
o every opportunity that was presented to her - and of which, there were many.
it was a wonderful thing. all of a sudden her and her mother came into a vast amount of money, their lives changing al
most overnight. she was attended to at her every waking whim, but this obsession soured when the media turned - as it
always does. attention became smear campaigns became stalkers knocking on her front door in the depths of the night -
it started becoming a bit of a problem. in the midsts of all of this, at thirteen, only a year into her status of 'overnight s
ensation', she experienced her first episode of psychosis, melting down live on air. the tabloids pointed fingers at a con
trolling mother, and though half correct, the truth lay within her patriarch's gift, burnout from such consistent usage of
her powers. a stint in an adolescent mental health ward and she was back on track - the work had been done, after all.
she didn't need to make people obsess with her anymore; they were already caught in the throes of it.
the visits from monsters - not papparazi, not stalkers, real monsters - started when she was fourteen. summers began b
eing spent at camp, a nice respite from the mess that was becoming her mortal life. during the year, she would work on
her projects - the films, the tv shows, the short-lived record deal - and in summer, she could be a normal person again.
well, not quite normal, considering she was still very much a demigod, but normal in the sense of 'just like everybody els
e'. the presence of her father within the camp was also appreciated, and though he acted as though he couldn't stand th
e mere sight of her, it became clear that he had some kind of soft spot for her.
due to her history with using her powers, she remains tentative about inducing mania in others, still not fully healed fro
m the mess that was her first episode, and because of this, became more focused on the melee aspects of combat, beco
ming proficient in archery, dagger-work and hand-to-hand spars.

β³ xxxelfie's history and present in the spotlight has made her a good judge of the intentions of people. she's more obser
vant than your average joe, picking apart the 'characters' that people play, the roles that they take in their lives whether
intentionally or otherwise. she has excellent people skills when she tries - oozing charisma and wit, and never seems to r
un out of things to talk about when speaking to someone that stimulates her mind in the correct way. she's bold and confi
dent, knows her limits and pushes them to achieve some level of excellence - her presence tends to push other people to
reach their own greatness, as well.
weaknesses
β³ xxxelfie is turbulent and sensitive, but doesn't know when to ask for help when she needs it - thinks that it's dangerou
s, vulnerability, and this makes her very difficult to crack through the ice of - and very difficult to help when it's evident
ly needed. her past mental health issues are not over with yet, still medicated against the occasional delusions of grande
ur that were almost encouraged by her mother, and she has deep fear that she'll lose control - for this reason, almost cou
nter-intuitively, she acts recklessly and beyond her means, because if she can control the chaos she causes, then she's sti
ll within her own mind. that's how she reasons with it, anyway. it doesn't go very well. her aversion to using her powers m
akes her an easier target than most, and an inherent distrust for most people mixed with an avoidance of vulnerability do
esn't tend to go well. prone to burnout, she pushes herself to the edge of collapse. at times, elfie is objectively a danger
to herself - but she has to keep the performance going, has to keep dancing.

β³ xxxwith a bit of focus, elfie can make people obsessed with her, rid themselves of their inhibitions and descend into brief
insanity. in a similar sense, she can cure it - with a bit more effort, admittedly - and return order and focus to those w
ho have lost it. using this power for prolonged periods of time gradually rescinds her own mental wellbeing, so she avoi
ds it at almost all costs nowadays.
