They were supposed to be safe. They never
made any trouble, they made sure to keep their
heads down and to play nicely with their neighb
ours so that no one would have any reason to
look too closely at them. They had done every
thing right.The Wolves of Dusty Hollow had
been model members of the small town they
called their home in Colorado. As rural as it
was, they didn't have many close neighbours
and the tall pines of the Rocky Mountains have
always offered ample coverage for their true form.

There was no warning for what was about to come.
The day had barely begun when a team of hunters
came crashing through the woodland surrounding
their home and the wolves had barely any time to
react before their home was torn away from them
and they were forced to run. Not all of the wolves
in the pack were lucky and there were some casualties,
but for the most part, the pack survived. Tensions now
run high as strong evidence suggests that a member of
the pack informed the hunters of their location.

The wolves must now find a new home but with
a possible traitor amongst their ranks, how will
they handle everything?

Velvet McKinley is cold as ice on the surface, if you didn't know the girl you
would probably think that she hates you. She is afflicted by a unique condition
known as 'RBF' and this is something she never really learned to switch off.
Despite her frosty exterior, Vel adores each of the pack members with her
whole heart and would do anything to protect them. In her eyes, they're the
reason she's still alive. If Velvet has let you into her inner circle you will likely
see a much warmer character, she may roll her eyes at you, but you best believe
they're rolled with love! Velvet finds it incredibly difficult to let people in, she
never wants to give someone the opportunity to hurt her again so she tends to
hold most people at an arm's length. Her pack have seen a rarer, softer side to
her but even they get shut out when she's having one of her bad days.

Vel was the product of an affair her mother had with a man who unbeknownst
to her was a werewolf. Her parents did their best to raise her until they realised
something was different about her around the time of her 12th birthday. Her first
shift was easily the most terrifying experience of her life, no one had told her what
to expect or how to cope with it so Vel had lost control and lunged at her mother.
Following this incident, they left her out in the woods to fend for herself seeing as
she was a wild animal. Luckily for her, Zeke found her only a couple of days later
and took her in, Vel credits him for saving her life that day.

whether he has a personal connection to them or not. he
's a very empathetic guy who has incredible patience, alt
hough he can be equally as persistent. milo is the type o
f person that usually speaks very softly and thoughtfully,
with an equally gentle touch, and this aspect of him ofte
n aids in his endeavors to comfort and heal. he's very loy
al to those that he considers close and super eager to ple
ase. this dependability pairs nicely with his almost instin
ctual ability to navigate through particularly challenging
problems, and it's very rare to see him lose his cool when
he's under pressure. despite his age, milo is extremely ca
pable of serving as the pack's medic. he possesses an alm

ly everything in his power (which was a very limited medical interest
paired with tiny, shaky kid hands and a lack of proper supplies) to s

five days of fighting and his mother soon followed. he spent two we
eks on his own before stumbling on the pack and has been one of t
he most loyal members ever since. ⭑ milo doesn't believe in lost ca
uses and all rationality goes out the window when he's faced with a
seemingly impossible problem. ⭑ is literally not capable of sitting i
dly, must always be doing something whether it's reading or talking
or cooking or cleaning or walking or ⭑ his bad habit is relying on th
e people around him for stability and guidance, no matter how man
y red flags they may be waving ⭑ has trouble processing negative e
motions, often ignores them until he bursts or shuts down complet

ing way. She is someone with an affec-
tionately teasing sense of humor, and
she could listen to someone go on about
something for hours without ever losing
interest, even when she doesn't fully
understand what they are talking about.
At least that's how she used to be.
The death of Arden's mate introduced
her to immense grief, and the grief
brought mercurial moods, absentmind-
edness, and a general lingering sad-
ness to everything she does. Most were-
wolves near her can sense the depth of
the grief she's lugging around, but only
few can pinpoint where such pain could
have come from. Arden only feels sym-

Even with her vaulting from mood to
another, Arden has never been inclined
to lash out. The only time she has tru-
ly turned to force was when she was
being driven from her birth pack, and
she doesn't have a lot of memories
from that night, but all the scars to

shut down and withdraw when some-
thing becomes too upsetting. The ab-
sentmindedness has made her quite un-

tolerate the thought of existing in a world with were-

meaning of someone's words — or danger. Sometimes she fills silence with
an endless, rather nonsensical monologue to keep herself from thinking
about the things she would rather not be thinking about, which can be dan-
gerous for someone trying to keep their identity a secret from the general

But it's not as if Arden's intentionally hiding her past or the death of her
mate from anyone, because maybe others would see her in a different light
if she could only explain herself, but that's the one topic she simply doesn't

Not confronting it all directly is somewhat of a way to cope, even if it isn't a
great one. The only time you'll truly see her shut down and space out is when
she encounters something that works as a reminder, and it is safe to say she
does not talk about Melissa much, except for the occasional slip. Those slips
have led to a lot of days spent in bed. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
history; Arden was born a werewolf into a pack that was centered around
another, much larger and prominent family than her own. Things began going
sideways around the time she was twenty-two and her father passed away.
The children of the other families had never been that fond of Arden, possib-
ly considering her someone who could challenge the line of succession in spite
of her never showing interest in the role of alpha, or beta, or anything of
the sort. Things finally escalated due to the way her father's death compro-
mised her family's role in the pack, with her mother being old and both of
her cousins showing signs of intending to leave and find families of their
own. The heir saw it necessary to act before Ari might have made a move
to claim some role they thought her to be unfit for, and she was driven out.
Maybe she would have gone willingly had it not been for her mother staying
behind. Ari doesn't have a lot of clear memories from that dark night, but
things had evidently taken a bloody turn considering someone found her in
a ditch and her next memory is of a hospital emergency room. Considering
the fact that she knew — even bruised and bloodied — that she was a were-
wolf and wouldn't heal the same way a human does, she made her reluctance
clear the entire way, and even with a bleeding arm and strange bite marks
all over her side and back, she insisted that she should be allowed to leave.
And although she ended up having a bad reaction to whatever they used to
flush her wounds (which caused her to mimic the healing of a lucky human
but also left her with angry scars), maybe it was a good thing that they
considered her delirious and wouldn't let her go, because that's where she

Meeting Melissa isn't something Arden will ever forget, not only due to the
way seeing her for the first time struck her like a brick to the face, but be-
cause the first thing Mel said to her was shame about the tattoos, as a par-
ticularly nasty bite to her left elbow had broken the patterns tattooed there.
Not that Ari could forget even if she wanted to, because she eventually got
those exact words tattooed right next to her new scars. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Arden and Melissa eventually became an unusual pack of two — werewolf
and human, respectively — but things didn't stay happy for long, as Mel was
diagnosed with cancer. It had never been either of their intention for Mel to
be turned due to the way Arden had suffered as a direct consequence of be-
ing born into a pack, but they both hoped it would be a cure. They quickly
discovered it would only make the end more agonizing. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
From an objective point of view, Arden dealt with her mate's illness as well
as one could — at least until the inevitable death. That's when something
seemed to slip out of place in her mind, which made Ari what she is today.
It's only been some months, but time seems to pass differently in the place
