► PERSONALITY. An elegant and cunning young woman with her head always held high, Tiara knows what she wants out of life and isn’t afraid to get it. Her godly heritage grants her natural charm and confidence, although Tiara won’t chalk her personality entirely up to her mother’s influence. She’d strongly prefer to have a reputation rooted in hard work rather than intrinsic talent. She can come across as arrogant and sometimes ditzy, but beneath the sparkle and shine of Tiara’s personality is an intelligent, ambitious spirit. She dislikes putting on airs to hide such traits and sees honesty as a fine policy to stick to, although she’s not above using Charmspeak and related abilities if need be. Not necessarily to the point of ruthlessness, but she’s also willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish what she wants.

Tiara’s strong personality can put others off—which doesn’t particularly bother her. Although she’s a social butterfly who feeds off attention, she needs a fair amount of time to herself, and she doesn’t mind being too much for others to handle (most of the time, anyway, with some deeply hidden insecurities relating to this). She likes what she likes and behaves as she wants, and she brushes off others’ opinions on that. However friendly and outgoing she is, Tiara seems to have trouble getting truly close to people, unwilling to bare that much of her soul. She has many acquaintances but few she would consider true trusted friends. When it comes down to it, she can be somewhat shy in unexpected situations. ► HISTORY. Hailing from Miami, Florida, Tiara was born of a brief courtship between a defense attorney, James Valentine, and the goddess of love Aphrodite. In youth, she was known for a bright smile and shining eyes that drew many to dote upon her, not least her father. Though his work made it difficult for him to spend a great deal of time with Tiara, the time they did share was special, and he more than made up for the absence of Tiara’s mother.

As Tiara grew up, her powers were subtle enough that they might have gone unnoticed. Charmspeak tended to slip out almost compulsively, although she might not have needed it, with the charisma that she grew to radiate. It was when she was entering her late teens that Tiara started to realize she might not be an average person for another reason—and it related to the distant stories her father had told her of her mother, an ethereal woman who shined with all the beauty her daughter had inherited.

Tiara was too old—and too under-the-radar—to spend more than a summer or two at camp, finding herself disliking having to look after many younger campers, but Half-Blood University became Tiara’s home once she moved into college. Currently, she is pursuing studies in journalism.
