Personality: Batflight is a gentle giant of a cat, physically imposingโand able to prove his might through combat, though heโs more skilled at basic huntingโbut warm and welcoming in demeanor. A soft-spoken voice would indicate shyness, but Batflight is anything butโhis friendly, outgoing presence makes up for a meek tone. He knows when to focus on his duty and when to relax, and during the latter, Batflight is quick to goof off and entertain his clanmates. He is loyal and open, willing to give (almost) anyone a chance. However, this trust is conditional; if someone betrays it, they arenโt likely to get another chance until they prove themself worthy. Batflightโs coldness is a difficult thing to earn and an only marginally easier thing to lose. Though heโs likely had his heart broken a few times, Batflight also has a flirtatious streakโnever has he wanted to give up on love or eventually having a family. Platonically and romantically alike, he has a lot of love and affection in his heart to give.
With this tendency, Batflight runs the risk of spreading himself too thin to help anyone. He can also be somewhat myopic when it comes to his own needs, which are set aside for the good of the many. The laughter and compassion he extends to other cats, in a way, are a method he uses to distract from his own loneliness and negative feelings, and he only doubles down when it doesnโt work. In addition, Batflight greatly enjoys learning new thingsโhis early moons were marked by a curiosity that drove him to ask a flood of โwhy?โ questions. He prides himself on doing the best he can to support his clan and the cats within it, though he still often worries that heโs not doing enough.

History: From birth, Batkit was of a family-oriented demeanor, always extremely close to his mother, father, and brother. As he grew, his love for his kin only strengthened, though it soon expanded to the rest of the clan as well. His littermate Myrtlekit was much more severe in nature, and the two grew distant once they became apprentices, much to Batpawโs dismay, though he reasoned that at least now he had an opportunity to make friends beyond his denmates.
Batpawโs gentle, sweet nature along with natural agility carried him through his training, and he proved himself to be a powerful but mindful warrior. He earned the name Batflight for his quick, free movements and thinking. A mere few moons after Batflight and Myrtletailโs warrior ceremony, their father was injured in a scuffle and soon succumbed to his wounds. Devastated as he was that he could do nothing to save him, Batflight forced himself to look to the future and depend on his remaining familyโthough that mostly was just his mother, as his brother now almost refused to even look at him.
Some time after his fatherโs death, Batflightโs mother found love again in another warrior. Batflight watched their courtship and the birth of his younger half-sisters with joy as well as a bit of sorrowโas happy as he genuinely was for Briarfoot, and excited as he was to welcome his sisters into the family, he couldnโt shake the faint feeling of being replaced. This feeling was stronger, however, in Myrtletail; despite the moons heโd spent distanced from his kin, heโd grown to regret his actions.
After a short conversation, the first theyโd had in ages, Batflight tried to convince Myrtletail to confess thisโBriarfoot would love to hear it, he insisted. But Myrtletail shook his head, gave Batflight one final glare, and walked into the distance, never to be seen again. A part of Batflight hopes that heโs still out there, walking the peaks as a rogue, but the rest of him knows better, and as of late, heโs turned his focus to helping his younger half-sisters with their training.
