Devil’s Kettle has just celebrated the 175th anniversary of its township charter signing. Nearly all of the 3,500 citizens turned out for the festival, including the resident werewolf pack & the newcomers to town: a coven of vampires.

But just one night in the same town has the pack & coven at each other’s throats when Kellan, a werewolf acting on his own, secretly met Gabriel, a vamp, to gather information. The werewolf & vampire realized there were rogue vampires in town at the same time another coven member, Ricardo, discovers one rogue, Magdalene, who was buried at sea feasting on a festival-goer.

Kellan & Gabriel were caught meeting by the werewolf Alpha who agrees to be introduced to Gabriel’s coven leader, Alex Drakos, in order to discuss peaceful resolutions to the issue of keeping DK’s populace safe from harm as the coven claims to not drink human blood.

The only human aware that there may be something wrong with DK, Josie Brooke, accidentally met a lone wolf, Silver, who was following the werewolf Beta, Flynn all night. Suspicious of the mysterious newcomer, Josie confronted Silver which resulted in a bit of violence when Flynn interfered, earning himself a broken nose and Josie a broken hand.

Unaware of the danger at hand, another human named Rosemary has caught the attention of one of the more mischievous coven members, Sonya, because unbeknownst to Rosemary, she has a scent universally attractive to vampires. Complicating matters further, another rogue female with no knowledge of werewolves, Gwen, has moved into a mansion on the lake where she will soon cross paths with the pack’s newest member, Adeline

kellan darby. goes by kell or just darby. born dec 9, 24 years of age. five foot ten in
180 lbs. stocky and broad-shouldered with muscles earned from brawling and looking
after himself. has pale ivory skin covered in half-healed cuts and bruises all the time
but no scars. his eyes are deep blue like the open ocean and his hair is a mousy brow
n, wavy and unkempt. has a booming baritone voice marked by a strong british accen
t that is often heard shouting or laughing. he's approachable and easy to talk to most
times but is hot-tempered and competitive. has a habit of taking the bait and suffers
from foot in mouth disease. can be really sweet when he gets the chance and is loyal
to a fault, but his mouth gets him into tough situations his hands have to get him out
of. this puts a strain on his relationships. despite being brash and reckless, kellan has
a lot of heart and is someone you can count on to be there for you when you need hi
m. has a very protective nature and is merciless when dealing with a threat. an only
child and an orphan whose parents died when he was 6. he was raised by an aunt in t
he uk but came back to the states after school. when he settled in his parents old ho
use in dk, he became terribly sick with more than just a fever. phasing was almost a
relief despite the agonizing pain and the realization he wasn't fully human. it took h
im quite a while to stop exploding out of his clothes with every mood swing but once
kell learned to control himself, he knew he'd finally found where he belonged. the p
ack is exactly the kind of family he's always needed to be useful instead of destructi
ve. he's been in devil's kettle several years now, a seasoned werewolf and loyal pack
subordinate. vampires in dk have him on edge. he doesn't trust the new coven at all.

kell's wolf form is a monstrously large silver and smoke beast with baleful blue eyes

f getting exactly what she wanted. the vampire, intrigued by her charisma, invited her und
er the guise of advancing her career to her doom. when she woke, she killed her creator fo
r what he'd done. as a vampire, all of her core human traits are intensified. vanity is now n
arcissism, ambition has become avarice, and her natural charisma has become a supernatu
ral compulsion. looking directly into her garnet-colored eyes has a hypnotic effect on peop
le, causing them to become extremely suggestive and compliant with her will. the charism
a settles around her like an aura, attracting humans and disarming vampires. at full force i
t renders the weak-willed her puppets, but only through direct eye-contact. her whimsical
nature also intensified, making her wildly capricious. she lives in the moment, taking pleas
ures as they come with little patience for anything that doesn't serve her. if you aren't with
her, you're against her and you don't want to be on her bad side. she enjoys destroying her
enemies as much as the next thing and can be a little overzealous. while she's making the b
est of a bad situation and is now attached to the idea of immortality, gwen loathes having
had her life stolen from her. she'd never wish her fate on any human and though she might
kill one on a whim, she'd never change one. she shows remarkable restraint when in the pr
esence of humans, always having been a picky eater, and has no trouble blending in with th
em when she needs to thanks to her gift. the angelic beauty helps too. gwen is sylphlike, v
ery thin and graceful at an average height of 5'5" & slight weight of 125 lbs. her skin is pale
st winter peach and flawlessly smooth but hard and cold like polished stone. her eyes are b
right as rubies when she's fed & dark as onyx when she's thirsty. her hair is v straight and f
ine like silk, a dirty blond that's sandiest at the roots and a sun-bleached gold at the tips.
she has straight-cut bangs and usually wears her hair down, framing her diamond-shaped
face. she's recently acquired a lakehouse a few miles outside of town because the area is s

personality. outwardly, Ignatius is nothing if not a perfect gentleman who always observes niceties to the point of being a dandy. but inwardly he is a bit of a snob who is subtly patronizing when dealing with those he considers not up to his levels of sophistication. he is ambitious and self-serving in his actions but rarely conniving as Iggy has a strong sense of pride in his achievements and wouldn’t care to spoil any chance of gloating by having cheated. despite having a superiority complex, Iggy is a social creature who craves company and conversation. when he finds reliable sources of these, he becomes tolerable with the mental stimulation and loosens up a bit, his perfect manners giving way to his more genuine self that has been known to possess great wit. he seems eccentric but has quite modern tastes and hobbies he likes to indulge in. there are rare times that Iggy feels stifled by propriety and says to hell with it all but this usually results in a manic state of intense brooding or party benders, often in other countries. not so deep down, he is unsatisfied with his lifestyle and craves something more. growing up the way he did, he is often described as someone who buys his friends, feeling safe in the shallow bonds formed while having a great (and expensive) time. he never lets himself be vulnerable, not able to withstand the pain of letting someone in who would only hurt him or show him another kind of unhealthy relationship.

[size=80]Mingan Midthunder is a Devil’s Kettle native, born June 17th, 1978, to very active parents. His mother, Latrice, was a Native Rights activist, and his father a medicine man for the Lakota of Washington. The result of this firey combination brought Mingan a very sporty lifestyle. His childhood was spent fighting for his people, while also studying them.
Mingan has known from a young age about the legends of shifting warriors, but never assumed he himself would be gifted with the gene. When he became a wolf, his name was gifted to him. For his gentle nature and clearheadedness: Mingan was known as Gentletrot.
Due to the already low count of both wolves and Natives in Devil’s Kettle, Mingan quickly assumed his role as an Alpha. Though the gene does not run in his line, he is eager to prove himself to his young followers. He adores all of them, whether knew or old, and because he has not had any children, he yearns to teach and pass all of his wisdom to them. Despite their impatience with him, Mingan has taken it upon himself to keep a disciplined and sturdy pack.
Mingan has mixed thoughts on the arrival of predators in his home. Though Devil’s Kettle “welcomes all”, Mingan does not know what to think of the arrivals. He can tell the organized group of vampires has good intentions, though their threat to the humans cannot be ignored. But, vampires were once humans, too, and if they still have a shred of human attitude left, they surely will settle an agreement with him. Rogue scents have also whiffed into Devil’s Kettle, those who will not follow the rules of a treaty put anyone near them in absolute danger. Mingan firmly believes these threats must be controlled before they consume the sea-side of Washington.
