Riley is a smart, practical woman that shows a deep dedication to her work. While
being a seismologist is hard work, she wouldn't trade her job for anything. A highly
ambitious and determined individual, she will do whatever it takes to secure what
she wants. She holds deep insecurities despite her calm, composed persona. Being
a gay woman in the nineties can be difficult. She hides her sexuality, knowing that
she can be fired for it. The minute her secret is out, her boss will use any possible
excuse he can find to fire her. Regardless, she tries to remain optimistic whenever
possible. She is a highly curious woman, always excited to learn something new.

Ripley is a seismologist for a high-end company in Phoenix, Arizona. Ever since she
was a little girl, she had been fascinated by earthquakes. She read every book she
could get her hands on, learning more and more. Ripley frequently faced bullying,
her nerdy passions and rumors about her sexuality spurring them on. This problem
went away after heading to college. However, the damage had been done and the
young woman repressed her sexuality even more. Shortly after graduating college
she found the courage to come out to her parents. While their reactions were not
the worst they could have been, she could tell they were disappointed. Ripley has
slowly fallen out of contact with them, throwing herself into her job.
