Nelaeryn Wysanan is the youngest and only living son of Maeral and Aelrie, the lord and lady of the once powerful and upper-class Wysanan family. In his youth, he was largely ignored by his parents in favor of his much older and stronger brothers. Due to largely being left to his own devices without any many friends, he slowly began to speak less and less with Ryn eventually only speaking only when he had to. When he was in his eighth year, his eldest brother and heir to his father, Lathlaeril participated in the excursion, dying in the process. A few later, in his eleventh year, his second eldest brother and the new heir, Elran also particapted and died in the excursion. With him being the only remaining son left, his parents trained him aggressively, to the point where his body was always covered in bruises from it. Due to having been unaknowledged for most of his childhood, other upper-class families and members of his own lost faith in his ability to become his father’s successor as well as survive the excursion when his allegedly perfect older brothers had not. Nelaeryn has been repeatedly called an 'ice prince' due to his indifferent and seemingly arrogant nature, though he is actually neither. In reality, he just keeps everything close to his chest, never revealing how he feels more than he has to, and is prickly due to the constant comparison of him to his brothers, despite the fact that he is just as intelligent and strong as they were if not slightly more. He's hesitant to get close to others and to seek help as he was taught this was a weakness. Ryn is easily flustered by unexpected affection, as his parents rarely had time or even interest to show him any as a child. Despite his supposed indifference, Nelaeryn is quick to step up to protect someone in danger and never hesitates to put himself in harm’s way to make sure that someone else isn't.

bright's a kind soul, but he has been known to be verbally crass and not hold back on anyone he feels needs a good talking
to. he's tall, often angry looking, and overall a little intimidating, but he's a pretty nice guy once one peels back a few lay
ers. bright is thoughtful and observant, but his patience is his weakness, and he sometimes loses his temper. but no matte
r what mood he's in, he's very protective of those he cares about, and can even go as far as being territorial. he's very secr

which causes him to hate being stared at. because of this, he's hyperaware of the sense of being watched, often randomly
