personality; kasumi is a seemingly cheerful, elegant and friendly person with a seemingly perfect
life, as she received a shujin scholarship and was nearly uncontested in gymnast competitions.
unlike most other members of the phantom thieves, her family is also fully functional and caring
towards her well-being. She also appears to be quite clumsy and careless, as she is shown outright
missing the mark at the batting cages even if her reflexes are usually excellent, and she lets her
phone's battery run out while texting ren. despite the fact that she can cook, she is unpredictable
and somewhat clumsy at it, since she isn't sure about the ingredients, and she often uses stamina
replenishing food due to her gymnast tendencies. it's because of that she eats a lot, that she
considers a "normal" amount for a gymnast like herself and she also has large lunch box to prove this.
despite her supposedly cheerful and bold personality, she does feel depressed sometimes for no
apparent reason, and when practicing gymnastics, she often felt like that her body isn't hers and she
cannot execute complicated moves properly despite knowing how to use them. while she expresses
admiration towards ren, she dislikes the very idea of the phantom thieves, as she believes that people
should learn how to solve their own problems instead of relying on others. although she acknowledges
that the phantom thieves do good by helping people, she worries that people may become heavily reliant
on them to solve their problems and stop making their own efforts.

➳spells; jade is an incredibly skilled white mage, which means she is particularly well-versed in all manners of healing spells and the like. she is also able to resurrect fallen allies, but this takes up a good chunk of her energy (known as "mana"). white mages are also incredibly in-tune with nature, and as such, she is able to cast spells based in earth and wind as well as various light-based spells.

➳powers; as the "warrior of light" and (her goddess) hydaelyn's chosen, she has a mysterious power known as "the echo" which allows her to view events that have occurred in the past. however, she is unable to control this power, and it may strike at any given time. this is accompanied with a splitting headache and temporary disability from doing anything outside of clutching her head in pain. in addition to these, as a miqo'te, she has an excellent sense of smell, hearing, and night vision (and a tendency to chase strange beams of light).
➳weapons; jade's weapon of choice is the rose couverte, an elegantly gilded staff with a large, white crystal attached to the top (it can be seen in her reference photo). it is usually attached to her back by a small strap and travels with her pretty much everywhere. while it is obviously used to channel jade's magical energy into spells, if need be, it can also be used to hit attackers (seeing as it does have a bit of weight to it). without a staff, jade is unable to cast spells.

➳personality; jade is kind at heart, sharp in mind, and strong in soul. well, maybe she's not that sharp, but she's doing her best to work on it! she cares deeply about those she's close with (maybe a little too much) and won't hesitate to throw herself into perilous situations for the sake of those she loves. jade is also pretty friendly and understanding of people even if she doesn't really know them (which may be a bad thing), but rarely she may notice your vibes are off from the get-go and harbor feelings of ill will toward you (but she won't usually show it unless you return the favor). as the savior of her realm, eorzea, and the "warrior of light", she's grown to embrace her title; however, over the years, it's started to wear down on her in the form of deep insecurities and the fear that she may not be good enough one day. jade has seen many of her comrades fall in battle, and most times she places the fault squarely on her shoulders, which as you can imagine, isn't entirely good for her mental health. she will do whatever it takes to avoid anyone else she cares for dying before her very eyes, even if it means sacrificing herself.
