➳abilities / powers; Varu is a Toa of Psionics, and as such has complete control over mental energy. She can read minds, fire blasts of psychic energy, move objects, and even control minds, though that particular ability is largely dependent on the will of her target. She can also release all of her stored elemental energy at once in a devastating nova blast, though doing so would cause widespread destruction and would leave her powerless until she could recharge her energy. Toa of Psionics are also incapable of absorbing their element from the surroundings, relying entirely on their own elemental energy reserves.
Varu also wears a Kanohi Kualsi, the Great Mask of Quick-Travel. With it, she can teleport to any location within her field of vision, taking objects with her, but not other beings. She could theoretically teleport to locations viewed telepathically through another's eyes, but doing so would be extremely risky.
➳weapons; Varu carries a Psi Lance, a protosteel spear that increases the range and accuracy of her psionic blasts in addition to being a deadly weapon in its own right. She also carries a small shield with a built-in Kanoka launcher, and pack with a and several disks with various properties, as well as a few Masks of Elemental Energy, in case she needs an emergency recharge.
➳personality; Varu is excitable, talkative, and scatterbrained, traits relatively uncommon among Toa. She's still brave, and honorable, like all Toa are, but her anxious tendencies and general lack of composure tend to make her come off less as a heroic defender and more as a slightly stronger, slightly larger Matoran. She's both incredibly intelligent and incredibly knowledgeable, attributes her team values her greatly for, and in familiar situations she can be as strong a leader as any Toa, but it doesn't take much to strip away her composure, and then she's better off somewhere where she won't send the Matoran into a panic. It also tends to get odd looks from other Toa, though her team have long since gotten used to her eccentricities.
➳appearance; Varu's towering frame is covered in sleek, sky-blue armor plates, with gold accents tracing concentric circles down her arms, legs, and chest. Her lance and shield can be slung over her back when not in use, covering the simple pack that carries her Kanoka and energy masks. Yellow eyes blaze from behind her golden Kualsi, and a yellow heartlight flashes in the center of her chest, with a rhythm similar to that of a human heartbeat.
