Hello all !!

I've updated the front so I think we're almost good to go. Just a few forms to finish up and we're good to goooooo

So, in my head, everybody already knows each other; they've traveled and crossed paths, they've visited Professor Oak as kids, etc etc. So this is a bunch of pals all together to go on Oak's mission !!

If anybody has a preference on capturing Articuno, let's all have a chat about it. I'm going to add to Kaia's form, about legendary Pokémon she might capture/have a connection with, but of course it's all up for debate. At the moment there's a 1 legendary per person cap, but that will lift to 2, 3 and so on as we work through and each character gets 1 legendary, then each will get a second, etc.

Basically; I would really love to get an idea of what legendary Pokémon would be for each character so we can plan something practical.

I'd also love to start the roleplay en route to the Seafoam Islands; so everybody traveling there via their Pokémon, or sharing a lift with somebody else. Kaia has Dewgong, Gyarados, Altaria and Dragonite who would be capable of making the journey. Picturing it a bit like the 1st Pokémon movie wherein everybody has to try and make it to the island. So, if anybody needs a lift, Kaia's Pokémon can provide if you're stuck navigating the chilly waters or the blizzards!

ALSO; want everybody's opinion so I'll put it in a poll. But, should our characters 'capture' the legendaries, or just 'befriend' them - so they no longer wreck havoc, and if ever our character was in trouble, they'd know to come to their aid? c:

And ALSOOOOO; I am 100% down for expanding on locations only covered in certain media (eg Alto Mare, doesn't exist in the games but does in the films, etc) so please chip in with any locations you'd like to write!

I very much built this team with y'all's characters teams in mind. Hence no flying types, no dragon types, no obligate water types, everyone has some way to respond to rock and ice types; everyone has perfect type coverage in attacks, too.
Of course no flying or dragon types means transport has to be covered some other way... So teleporting clefable.
I like designing teams.
You can tell I used to be a casual competitive battler...

The only legendary I really am sure I'd want to be for Cera is Uxie? I also had the thought of possibly Jirachi? But then all the fey related names kept catching my eye and ah, Jirachi both thematically fits being in a plains sort of setting and is adorable. Don't sue.
Mostly though? I'm up for working it out as trios are revealed and such. I'm not set on anything here!
Meloetta is also definitely a likely candidate but I don't know how y'all would feel about victini/keldeo/meloetta being classified as a trio...

I very much mean for Cera to have an easy in for having met anyone for a few days and then moved on and not been tied down. It also gives a fun excuse to reference actual pokemon musical themes, which I like. You're all welcome to assume that's how Cera met up with your character before, etc.

I am up for Cera having hitched a ride with anyone, but, equally, the idea of Nightcrawler-ing across the ocean while piggyback-riding on a clefable is just far too funny for me to not suggest leaving as is for an option.

I don't actually know a huge amount about other non-main pokemon regions? I'm very up for getting that exposure though!
High Key I'm just salty that Kalos only covered Normandy and Paris and La Vendée (I think that's how it's spelled!). So. Lot Valley child. In that line, exploring places just outside regions could be fun? Like, going to Galar and seeing the channel islands and "Northern Ireland" and seeing the North coast of "Japan" by travelling up through Johto, etc.
But obviously prioritise other actual regions people suggest!

sorry for the kind of late reply-i've been busy today,,,even with being quarantined in my house until may,,,but same as the others if you want to discuss relations lmk! I won't be able to reply at all tomorrow because I'll be doing chores around the house and painting my families front door but hopefully I can pop on now and then to reply back or even send out messages!

as far as the legendary for sam goes, I'm honestly not sure. I think a rock/ground or even an ice legendary would fit for sam. I was thinking maybe even heatran since that seems to fit the vibe for the cave, I'm no expert on pokemon and stuff but I do know he was found in a cave in black/white 2 and such. [for the life of me I cannot recall where he is in diamond/pearl even though that's my favorite region... I sound like a fake fan whoops]

I'm down for exploring more areas but I honestly don't know a lot about much of the outside of the games so. it's been a few years since I even got to watch pokemon on tv,,, rip.

as far as sam's team goes I tried to balance it out but keep to the cave theme.. kind of just put together pokemon I really liked to be honest. he should be able to travel mostly on his own but maybe since sam's so lazy he'll travel with someone and make them do the work or something along those lines. sam is just one lazy boi and honestly doesn't want to be traveling but here he is! he's doing his best!

Hello all !!

Just wanted to pop in first to say that I'm starting back to work, though working from home, meaning I'll be spending 8am - 7pm (GMT) doing work for at least 10 days. Obviously this means my replies to PMs, discussion thread notes and also roleplay posts will be a little slower than I had expected when I made this roleplay. Fear not !! I'll still get round to everything, just stick with me c: You'll find I tend to reply a LOT quicker in a discussion thread rather than PM as I feel more people waiting for me to reply in a thread lols

I have updated the front as best I can at the moment; please let me know if you'd like to adjust the potential legendary pals for your character, I may have misinterpreted c: Everybody's forms are looking pretty good, still a bit of finishing up but I'd be happy to get the ball rolling on the actually roleplay tonight / tomorrow ?? ALSO -- I have had a PM from a roleplayer who was in the original version of this roleplay, wondering if I would have any other slots; they played Child of The Marsh originally, so if they bounce back to say they'd like that slot, then I'll be adding this to the front page. I cut slots from this rp because I worried that having too many would be overwhelming; HOWEVER I have decided to open additional slots. These do not have to be filled. We'll crack on regardless of whether they are taken or not.

If anybody is curious, I had originally roughly planned legendary Pokémon out so that there would be at least 1 relevant per slot:

CHILD OF THE SEA:
- Lugia, Manaphy, Phione, Tapu Fini, Latias/Latios

CHILD OF THE FOREST:
- Celebi, Xerneas, Mew, Tapu Bulu, Cresselia

CHILD OF THE MOUNTAIN:

- Heatran, Diancie, Registeel, Terrakion, Marshadow, Jirachi, Cobalion

CHILD OF THE ROOST:
- Ho-oh, Zapdos, Rayquaza

CHILD OF THE FIELD:
- Shaymin, Virizion, Landorus, Tapu Lele, Zacian, Zamazenta

CHILD OF THE DESERT:
- Tornadus, Regirock, Groudon, Moltres, Solgaleo

CHILD OF THE TUNDRA:

Obviously this was always going to be a really rough idea, but it might help anybody that's not sure what to go for ??? And also I'm not all too familiar beyond Sinnoh, I only have a vague idea of some of the newer regions/Pokémon ;A;

Also - we won't be doing trios, duos etc, none of the legendary Pokémon will be encountered in order of their groups. So just because we're encountering Articuno first, doesn't mean that we'll be visiting Zapdos or Moltres next. I'd like to float around regions and encounter Pokémon that at least kind of make sense to be there in terms of their habitats?? So for example, we're starting at Seafoam Islands for Articuno; we could head to Viridian Forest and encounter Mew, Mt. Moon for Deoxys etc ?? Let me know your suggestions for where we can go !!

@ jen -- Noi can travel with Kaia if you like, she's got plenty of buddies that could help him out c:

@ kalo -- lmao Sam can hop on with Kaia as well if ya want? If she's travelling with both Sam and Noi she'll take her trusty Gyarados, Alaric c:

@ cham -- lmao piggybacking on a Clefable sounds like an absolute HOOT; but again if you'd like a lift, Kaia can provide!! Certainly we can nip into some places just outside main regions !! c:

EDIT: oof, hit submit too soon. Based on the poll (which seems to have some extra people chipping in lmaoooo, HELLO) let's go with just befriending legendary Pokémon for now unless if new people join and would rather something different !!

@Baenarys I'm very up for the intended legendaries for Cera too, but I'd prefer prioritising anyone who feels those are really good fits for their kiddo? Shaymin and Virizion both did come to mind for me before but I'm not super set on either, and all of those kiddos sound really cool and thematic from my perspective? But yes, anything after what I said before? Go wild!
I'm also okay with swapping over Uxie to our pond child, too! Thematic priority and such. I think there just being something that feels calm and fairy-ish fits Cera, and Jirachi covers that okay, I think?

The legendary Pokémon I had in mind were just a rough idea; and honestly I think it'd be more fun to spread trios etc out so they don't settle on just one person? BASICALLY I want everybody to just have an idea of which legends they'd like to encounter and befriend, so we can plan a route through the regions that makes sense and will give everybody a chance to encounter c:

In other news !! I've been thinking, if Child of the Tundra isn't taken up soon, I might do a swap on our first legend in case we get a Tundra kid swooping in a bit later on; since Articuno 100% feels like a Tundra bby to me ?? So just in case, any preference on which legend to encounter first ?? Something that can suitably be found near Oak's place or just somewhere within Kanto c:
