Mizaki can't help but admire Yura, even if the
waterbender doesn't like her. She's beautiful, regal, brave,
gentle, and a healer to boot, a profession that Mizaki's
always had a lot of respect for. She understands where
Yura's dislike is coming from, but she's determined to prove
to the waterbender that she's not like the rest of her nation,
and truly wants to help the rebellion's cause.

nikolaus, the earthbender. ✓
Nikolaus has earned Mizaki's sympathy (although she
doubts he would want it, especially from her) and her respect.
He's had a difficult life from the beginning, in no small part
because of the Fire Nation, but still managed to survive despite
everything, even teaching himself to become a skilled bender!
She likes the kind, patient nature she sees buried beneath the
judgement and bitterness, and would like to prove herself
trustworthy to him as well.

Mizaki is impressed by Akio's unique skills, hardworking,
reliable nature, and how she's unafraid to voice her opinions;
the fact that she's managed to survive under difficult
circumstances has earned her Mizaki's sympathy and respect
as well. However, her callousness puts the firebender off
somewhat, and she's concerned that Akio's tendency to wander
away even when she shouldn't could make her a liability. All in
all, she seems like a bit of an unknown variable right now.

Kazu's the sort of person Mizaki wishes she could be.
Not only is he humble, empathetic, and hardworking, he also
grew up in the Fire Nation without subscribing to its dogma
and has always used his firebending to heal rather than harm.
She'd love to get to know him better! (Although, he seems
somehow familiar... Has she met him before...?)
