wolfkit was born in the midst of a storm that made
the very forest they lived in quake with fear. it was
harsh and long, as was his mothers birth. she had t
wo kits, wolfkit, and thistlekit who passed away at
the brief age of 1 moon due to greencough. wolfpa
w never caught ill, though he watched with deep s
adness as his brother faded away. alone, wolfkit gr
ew far more daring, chasing his boredom by harass
ing the apprentice's and elders, or sneaking in to th
e medicine cat den to sniff at the herbs, often lead
ing to him skidding back to his den with small nips
on the end of his tail, warnings. curious and driven
mad with boredom, he would often times sneak aw
ay from camp to explore the riverbeds, learning ho
w to swim on his own as his riverclan blood begged
him to do. right before he became an apprentince,
he lost his father. having gone out on patrol that m
orning, wolfpaw had paced endlessly waiting for his
father to return home, for the stories he knew he w
ould hear even if the borders had been silent, but i
t was not his father that came back, but the his life
less body, strewn between two warriors who bore w
ounds across their bodies. for three days and three
nights he sat vigil, refusing to leave his fathers side.
something in him broke that day, something deep a
nd fragile. he barely ate, drinking just minor amou
nts at a time. no one could pry him away until his
it was time for him to earn his apprentice name. h
e gladly accepted, focused intently on becoming t
he finest warrior he could. though still soft and car
ing, he became something far more than the gentl
e cat he had once been. intently focused on his tr
aining and honing his fighting skills.
