Water is the element of change.[1] The moon is the source of power in waterbending, and the original waterbenders learned to bend by observing how the moon pushed and pulled the tides. . The Water Tribes are the only people who did not learn bending from an animal, though the Moon and Ocean Spirits took the form of koi fish in the mortal world near the beginning of the Avatar world. The fighting style of waterbending is mostly fluid and graceful, acting in concert with the environment. Foggy Swamp style waterbending, however, is more rigid and straight.[5] Waterbenders deal with the flow of energy; they let their defense become their offense, turning their opponents' own forces against them. Even when waterbenders do take an attack stance, their moves always appear to flow from one to the other.

✷ Power: Amazing earth bender. She works more with her hands than her feet, which means that she's precise and careful; she looks for opportunities. She'd rather wait for opportunity than waste her efforts. In general, she is more creative than most earth benders, with what she can bend, but also what she pays attention to in earth bending.
✷ Weakness: Her attacks are calculated, but that means she's can leave herself open to attack. She doesn't work out, so she doesn't have as much stamina; it will also be worse if she gets hit. She has a light body and can go flying of knocked into the air.
✷ Personality: She's a bit of a loner and a punk. Her parents tried to get her to be one way, and she got frustrated, becoming an entirely different person, as far as her earth bending, sexual orientation, etc. She doesn't like people trying to control her, and if she gets it in her head that she wants to do something, it will be hard to stop her.
✷ Plus traits: She is skilled and careful in her work. She knows how to handle herself, and has been. She's also pretty well educated, and continues to learn.
✷ Negative traits: She is very stubborn and unpredictable with people, often sending the message that she's rude. She doesn't always mean to be, but she is always pretty blunt.
✷ History: Her parents didn't expect her to take up earth bending, since in their family, it was tradition for bending to be powerful, and she wasn't very strong. They encouraged her to look for a man and support the family, ignoring her interests, and the fact that she had never been into men. They wanted their son, Akari, to be the one to be successful, He was the eldest, and the strongest. She often loathed him for having their support. Learning from him, she taught herself the basics of earth bending, but it felt wrong and crude to her. She challenged her brother to a fight, and lost, not because she was poor at earth bending, but because her shots were weak. Still, she was disappointed, as it proved to her parents that she still wasn't better. She grew bitter, and ran away, so that she would not be subject to what they wanted for her. It's been a few years now, and she's had time to refine her bending. She's been to multiple schools now, which she's afforded by working jobs, and picked up quite a few different styles and techniques. Inspired by the history of earth bending, she's practiced bending more with her hands, making her more precise, and proving to be the solution to the feeling of it being crude.

✷ Defining Features: Air bender tattoos. He has a variant version of them with the intent of being subtler for going into other nations, which is a more recent development that a minority of air benders have started taking. He specifically asked for this to be done. It means he's looked down on a lot by other air nomads for being willing to give up something to important to his culture like that, but he is willing to accept this as it was a necessary sacrifice to help keep him safe while he helps to protect people, without any risk of people being hurt collaterally.

✷ I N S I D E ✷

✷ Power: Zopa is an airbender. He has an enormous level of finesse with what he does, often using airbending to pick up objects and move them around, including the weapons of opponents in combat. He's very hard to hit during combat, because he focuses almost all his attention on deflecting attacks, but he is terrible at doing anything to target an opponent. He focuses heavily on evasion and defence. He's incredibly agile and deft, moving in circles and dodging around attacks and blows easily, but he never seems to successfully land blows. This is actually intentional, as he believes you should never intentionally hurt a feeling, thinking being if there is any way to avoid it.
✷ Weakness: Zopa focuses so far into defensive bending that he never seems to get into offense. If there's no where to escape to, this means that he ends up exhausting himself continuing to refuse to attack. One of his favourite tactics is to use bending to remove weapons from opponents, and then put them in hard-to-reach places so they can't attack any more. This leads to a lot of stalemates.
✷ Personality: Zopa is incredibly calm and gentle. He never acts on his emotions to other people. He does have ways to express his emotions, but this very much tends to be to get them out during meditation, or to get them out creatively. He doesn't like people to see either of these things.
He is very acceptant of any situation he finds himself in, and always calm about them, to the extent of freaking other people out a lot.
He likes to consider things very calmly and carefully before acting in any sort of way, and is naturally pretty quiet and contemplative. He can say a lot without needing to use words. His voice is always very calm and smooth. Because he is so calm and acceptant about things, he often doesn't react to things properly to defend himself. Combined with being very generous and kind, this can really harm him in other ways.
He doesn't like attention being drawn to him, and is happy with people being pleased with what he achieved, even if they never realise he did anything. He likes small creative activities, particularly cooking. He's genuinely more comfortable with people complimenting his work than him having done the work (eg "this is great cooking" rather than "you're a great cook").
Zopa feels no need to ask many questions (unless they're needed, in his mind, for someone to achieve peace with himself), and prefers to learn about people by observing them and how they behave, instead. He's almost uncanny at guessing what other people are thinking, though he's by no means perfect at it.
He meditates frequently, and likes seeing people trying to join in. He likes making tea a lot, particularly green teas, and offers tea quickly to people who seem like they need it, as long as there is time to brew it properly. He's an ovo-vegetarian; meaning he doesn't eat any meats or dairy products. He'll only eat eggs if desperate for the protein or very hungry (and milk if very desperate), but he will openly admit to loving cakes and pancakes if asked.... and to be working on vegan equivalents.
✷ Plus traits: Zopa never seems to give up with reasoning with people, he never seems to panic, and never lets his emotions overwhelm him. He's always calm and understanding of other people when they want to talk to him. He won't get angry at people for wanting to talk to him, or for admitting to doing something bad, as long as they seem to want to get past that and do better.
He's always a calm shoulder for other people to find support in. He's quick to offer kind words and advice to anyone who asks for it.
He has a good sense of humour and is very warm and welcoming, meaning it's easy for him to make friends. He's also very quick to apologise if he ever overstepped any boundaries.
Zopa is very easily forgiving, and hates to act solely in revenge. He's not stupid about someone still being able to be a threat, but he just quietly observes for signs of it, rather than counting on it being a thing that might happen. He's not at all scared of keeping things to himself, and frequently has his own little deductions and plans and beliefs that he won't share. None of these are malicious, he just doesn't need other people worrying about them.
✷ Negative traits: Zopa is a little too optimistic with believing everyone can be reasoned into peace and out of their current mindset. He hides the few emotions he really would benefit from talking about. His pacificism and his calmness can mean he can come off a little complacent to others, like he doesn't care about his situation getting worse, and he'll rarely interpose at all to stop things getting worse for himself if that would in any way involve confrontation or anyone else being worse off.
He hates confrontation, and will go far out of his way to avoid it. He really benefits from having people around who can stick up for him.
✷ History: The housing of different air temples had to change a little with attempts to attack air nomads and so on.
Zopa was born in the Western air temple, and was raised there for a few years, before being moved on to a more nomadic lifestyle. He was always kept together with his brother until he was about 8, at which point they were assigned to different masters, due to lack of them paying proper attention during meditation. They still spent lots of time together, frequently goofing off as a pair and pulling pranks during their childhood.
Zopa travelled around very consistently, and the group of monks he was with frequently changed around, with the only constants being his twin, Parba, and the two monks who were their masters. He avoided cities during training, and has always been careful to avoid cities when his tattoos have been visible. He's not been in cities a lot (he prefers mountainous, raised places, and most cities aren't built into mountains due to sheer practicality of building in those places), but, other than that, he's been to most places.
He intended to join the avatar to travel, mostly so he had some spiritual support as a part of his own nation, but also as a little of a guide to how other places work and how people behave, and, perhaps most crucially, so that if someone is trailing them, expecting an air nomad avatar... so he can be a distraction for long enough to let the real avatar get away. He's accepted his lot and his role might end up with him dead, but he considers that to be a necessary sacrifice if it lets the war end, and nothing to be upset about. He has not spoken to anyone about this, and nor would he, even if asked.

✷ Acquaintances: Various, when travelling around. Really, most people he meets fall into his friends, and most people who consider him an enemy he counts as an acquaintance. Thus, his list of acquaintances is a little meaningless.
✷ Friends: Zopa considers most people to be his friends. He considers most animals to be his friends, too.
✷ Family: He was raised communally by the monks, so he doesn't really have a set family. He does have a twin brother (Parba Dorjee) who he sees as being a twin to him closer than anyone else, but, beyond that? Not really. He doesn't resent his parents at all for this decision, but he does wish he at least knew which of the monks were his parents. Or if they're still alive, even. He sees the airbending master who taught him (Dechen Tashi) as almost a paternal figure.
✷ Romantic Relationship: Zopa has only had one actual girlfriend before, Chondak. It was a messy break up and Zopa doesn't want to risk going through that again until he's ready. He won't treat people any differently because he finds them attractive, until he sets his mind onto becoming involved with them. He wants to have children, and to keep a better track on which children are his within the communal upbringing than his parents did.
