    • rather large wings due to the barn owl's large wing-to-body ratio, they have tiny bodies and large wings

    • though she is a quiet and rather stoic type of girl, rosa can go from 0 to 100 in a snap if her family is threatened. she is not easily angered, but can get grouchy in the morning like just about everyone else. she will sass anyone, including their leader, though it's more friendly banter than anything serious or disrespectful. some of the other kids tends to irk her, but it's not much of a surprise considering a majority of her time spent at the labs was in solitary since the scientists viewed her a their 'prized subject' and wanted to keep her away from the other lesser creations. rosa likes her solitude at times, but does enjoy company from a select few others in the group. she may not come off as a sweet hearted motherly type, but she does love children, especially toddlers and infants.
    • unlike the other kids, rosa's parents weren't some normal people that gave up their child. her 'parents' were the scientists. she was created via testing and was implanted into a surrogate who was also a scientist. she never had a family to remember or any kind of positive memories outside of the labs. her life is the labs. rosa hates that she is so different from the other kids and envies their past lives of love and family. the scientists kept her separate from the other kids for most of her life, but it wasn't completely terrible. her 'room' was actually a large dome area in the school that had a large oak tree on the inside with bushes and grass like a little slice of wilderness just for her. rosa was raised in her dome room with only the scientists around, but was moved to a bare brick cell on the other side of the school in order to have her socialize with the other kids around her age. rosa wasn't thrilled with the move and shut down, remaining silent and aloof from the others. that is until the fire started and they had to flee. she joined the others and ended up bonding with a few of them, not so much the others.

Jezzebelle Gracelynn Lancaster was born on October 19th, to Juliette and Theodore Lancaster. Her parents met at the laboratory. They were young, enthusiastic, and they only wanted to make the world a better place. They were both idealists, and they always told her that when they met, it was love at first sight. They were married a short six months after they met, and became pregnant not long after. Because they believed so wholeheartedly in their cause and what the lab was trying to do, Juliette and Theodore offered their unborn child to be one of the modified children, not realizing at the time that they were pregnant with triplets. By the time the realized, it was too late. Something went wrong. Instead of perfectly modifying all three children, only Jezzebelle came out with the perfect mesh of genes. Her sisters, Emerson and Kinsley, were imbalanced and unstable. One too human, the other too feline. They didn't make it past their third ear. With only Jezzebelle left, Juliette and Theodore doted upon their remaining daughter, trying to make up for their mistake. They truly did love their children, they were just a bit misguided. Because of this, she was probably treated a lot better than most of the subjects. All the scientists kind of favored her, treated her like royalty, until her tenth birthday when both of her parents caught some sort of virus and succumbed. After that, Jezzebelle was thrown in with the rest of the test subjects, kids she had seen in passing before but never been permitted to interact with until that point. The special treatment ended and she was forced to realize that the people she had trusted and looked up to all her life were not her friends. The last seven years have left her rather jaded, and she's more than a little happy that the lab is gone. Her experiences have made her rather unpredictable, a real wildcard. Most of the time you get the sweet Jezzie. The innocent little girl, full of hope and optimism for a better future. That Jezzie is confident, flirtatious, and full of life. Other times, you find yourself face to face with the wildcat, a feral creature bent on the destruction of herself and others. That girl is violent, cold, and aggressive and has hurt herself on numerous occasions, with the scars to show for it. Jezzebelle knows she's on a downward spiral, and that she could crack at any time, and it terrifies her. She doesn't want to turn out like her sisters, who went mad in the final days before they were forced to be put down, but she fears that fate awaits her now. She's petrified that her own genes aren't quite as balanced as she was led to believe and that she will be the downfall of herself and their group of misfits. She tries hard to hide her insecurities behind a wall of confidence, but that doesn't always work out.

    Skye Rose's life certainly didn't start out as fascinating as it is today, in fact, barely anything ever happened in her childhood home. Her father was a well-known doctor through out her little town, while her mother was an veterinarian-in-training, so they were always teaching Skye different medical techniques from a very young age, whether she had been interested in them or not. Skye was always intrigued by the simplest of things, such as falling raindrops that would make their way down car windows or soft hums that she'd hear by those passing by. Having a quiet, yet melodic voice herself, she took enjoyment in singing and songwriting; however that is just one thing that Skye wouldn't dare tell a soul. It wasn't like they cared anyhow. It truly wasn't a bad life, but Skye would get teased by those who'd pick on her because of just how softhearted she was, and often heard their whispers behind her back. It hurt to say the least, yet she never was confident enough to provoke them. Suddenly everything changed when she had to switch 'schools' and entered the laboratory. Now she truly does wish that it could only go back the way it was before. Her parents are still alive, but simply believe that she died in the 'school's' fire. Skye's tried to visit them before, only to kneel before a small memorial and a dark house. She doesn't know where they went, perhaps recruited as scientists now or chased out of their home, and it puts her into an even more saddened state. Lucky for her, she has some pretty good friends to be at her side. A few more facts about Skye is that she has a fear of heights, loud noises such as shattering glass, and anxiety when flying, so don't be surprised if she tries to close her eyes mid-flight. Her favorite colors are navy blue and dusty pink. She also managed to find a journal in the vacation home that she uses to write songs, notes, and really everything, but keeps it far away from the eyes of the group.
