In a world where everyone has a balloon that signifies their destiny, it's easy to wonder how they work. Ten people, ten colours, trapped in a government facility. Used for testing in an effort to change their balloon's colour, whether they like it or not.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, black, pink and the rare translucent. Unknowest to the subjects, two subjects before them have escaped. Now they want to break the new subjects out and prevent the project from happening to anyone ever again. Meanwhile, in the facility, the subjects have gotten restless and they are starting to hatch a plan to escape and hopefully find the other escapees.

A balloon holds one's soul, to pop or destroy it means death. Of course, people still die from natural causes and accidents, but if one's balloon is popped they do not get to go to the afterlife, for their soul has been destroyed. Though, these balloons are sturdier than normal balloons which means they could only be popped if someone was purposely trying to.

Clove was captured from a young age, but escaped at the age

of 16. Due to the government being everywhere, Clove was

unable to reintergrate herself into society. With nothing else

to do, she decided to break the other subjects out.

Clove is easily described as lazy and annoying. She doesn't take

things seriously unless something important is at stake, and

prefers to do things on her own so people don't criticize her.

Since she was tested on since a very young age and was one of

the first subjects, thee government was completely knowledgable

on the topic. This led to them finding out she would die in a few

years, which is why they brought in all the new subjects. After

her escape, she realized why her balloon was translucent, because

she would die after the age of 18. Not letting this deter her, Clove

is set on freeing the other subjects before her death.

Personality: Rowan is entirely based around self preservation, and unless he's attached to you or you benefit him in some way, he will absolutely sacrifice you to save himself. He can be harsh and apathetic and will go to great lengths to entertain himself, sometimes at the pain of others. Once he has something to work towards or someone to protect, he is determined, stubborn and ambitious, and will not allow something or someone to get in his way at any point in time. He struggles with accepting other people's opinions or viewing himself as wrong. If he gets attached to you in some way, he can become protective and somewhat friendly, willing to actually take in what you want to do instead of just listening to himself. He often does the opposite of what he's told to do, which makes working with him a pain, unless you both have the same goal.
Appearance: He is of athletic build with short black hair and dark brown eyes.
Habits: Cracking his knuckles or punching or knocking on something around him.
Likes: Food, freedom, being alone, entertainment, exercise.

However he still manages to be lighthearted and bright and can be a bit childish sometimes. He is always quick to joke and comment lightly upon any situation that he may find himself in. Which is less about being cheerful and more because he tends to use humor to hide all his flaws and problems. He would rather bury herself alive than talk about His feelings, if he feels cornered he will deflect questioned with worse and worse puns. He is very protective of his family despite his deceivingly carefree attitude and will ignore his own needs in favor of his family's needs. Often he is the best at hiding when he needs help and tends to go days on end without sleeping, somehow he still manages to keep a bright beaming grin on his face.

Laura is a humorous person who loves to meet new people and aspires to be everybody's friend. She despises being alone for long periods of time and tries to be around people as much as possible, even if it annoys them. If she had not been in the experiment, she would have been a famous actor and singer going to as many conventions and concerts as possible. In the experiment, however, she is encouraged to participate in acrobatic activities and track & field to try to convert her balloon color to red.

Laura is naturally rebellious and isn't afraid to speak up for herself. After being trapped in the facility her whole life, she is ready to make some waves and get out to explore all that the world has to offer.

Laura has reddish-brown hair that sometimes looks magenta in the light. She has heterochromia (which means that your eyes are different colors) and her right eye is hazel while her left one is amber. She has a small, flat nose and full pink lips. Her face is in a round oval shape with a pointy chin. She is 5'8" or 172 cm and weighs 70 kg or ~140 lbs. She is relatively fit from her exercise programs.
