Welcome to the OOC thread for the Samoset Herd role play! This place is
for chatting, plotting, and posting forms. I don't care much about double
posting and I'm pretty lenient as long as you follow the rules. If you have
any major plot ideas, be sure to PM me about them! Click here for the

message me if you have any questions. Below is the form code you can
use for your characters, but you're welcome to use your own as long as
it's not overly complicated and it contains all the info required for your

Personality: Gautier is a gigantic, imposing stallion and he has a personality to match. He's all business and knows nothing but work and duty and respect. He takes his job very seriously, and is coordinated and punctual. When calm and satiated, he’s fairly respectable and he always has a level head on him. Though his patience could do with some work, he has a good measure of self control and as long as he gets what he wants in the end he’s able to set his mind to it and do pretty much anything. Although he doesn’t work very well when he's not in a position of authority and always insists he’s right, his confidence gives him an incredible drive and he won’t shy at driving a team straight into battle. He absolutely does not tolerate slackers and requires all horses to pull their weight if they want to stay in the herd.
Appearance: He is a large, bulky black stallion, and 'huge' is the best word to describe him. His legs, hooves, head, and chest are all very wide and powerful. He's mostly muscle, as most stallions are, and is certainly one of the tallest of the bunch. His mane and tail and long, wavy, and charcoal in color, his pelt a deep slightly sun-bleached black. His eyes are dark brown to match, though they are nearly always covered by a long, amber-tipped forelock.
Short History: Nothing spectacular, he was born in the herd and has known nothing but the lands he was born into and the harshness of the world around him. As the eldest of his siblings, and the strongest at that, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that he would become the chief so he became the junior chief as soon as he was a year old.

Personality: Lux is proud and tough. Though young, she’ll face any threat without hesitation and put her all into her missions. She’s determined to prove that she can be just as tough as her brothers, despite her thinner form. She’s fairly serious and very focused on her work, which sometimes takes a toll on her energy when she forgets to take a break. She says exactly what she means, and isn’t concerned with tiptoeing around people’s feelings when she speaks.
Romance wise, she’s not one to have foals anytime soon. She needs someone to match her energy and determination, and hasn’t found anyone that clicks with her yet. It may also have to do with her workaholic attitude driving people away often, but as far as she’s concerned at the moment, she has better things to focus on than love.
Appearance: A tall, thin mare with not an ounce of fat on her. Her coat is a light fleabitten grey, with soft dapples along her side. She can be immediately identified by the blood marks just above her left eye and at the dock of her tail. She has a naturally thin coat, and often will recruit help cutting off her mane and tail; she claims they hinder her work.
Short History: Grew up in a family of 4 older and herself. She was the only female her mother birthed and the smallest of the bunch, so straight from the moment she could walk she was fixed on proving herself to be just as good as the others.
Strengths: Agility, speed, focus, determination, adaptability
Weaknesses: Cooperation & teamwork, pacing herself, overly competitive

Personality: She's sugar but feisty and spicy. From birth she was trying her best to keep up with her mom, even if she wasn't the best at it. She's kept her competitive spirit throughout her foalhood into adulthood but has calmed down a bit. She was always a religious horse, believing that everything and everyone had a purpose. When you first meet her, she seems cold, but once you know her, she's sugar, spice, and everything nice.
Appearance: Black and white with amber eyes and a black mane and tail. Medium sized, more muscly than anything, but quite shy looking in appearance. You would definitely not take her as a bold horse at first glance.
Short History: She was born into the herd like most other horses, but has always admired the Starteller. When she became a junior, she already knew she wanted to be like her. As she matured, she calmed down from her rambunctious self into a beautiful young mare.
Strengths: Agility, intelligence
Weaknesses: Stamina (it totally did not take me an hour to remember the word), charisma

Personality: Confident, foolhardy and downright cocky, Fianna is not a stallion to back down from a challenge easily. He is always eager to impress, especially the mares, and always brushes off accidents as though they were intentional. He never means any harm, but can occasionally take jokes just that bit too far, however, he is never above apologizing when he knows he is wrong.
Appearance: Tall, not broad, Fionn looks more like he was made for running, than guarding anything. His long, thin legs, white to the knees and chestnut above, carry him with grace. A white face splashes with a huge contrast to his reddish coat, and he has a strong, square, noble head. Lithe and lean, the stallion's red body is complemented by pale blue eyes, eager to spot everything around him.
Short History: A trouble maker from his first moments, Fianna has been a pain in his mother's side for almost ten years. Pushing, racing, getting into scraps, there is probably nothing that Fianna did not do in his youth. As he grew, the stallion calmed somewhat, but he is not above making trouble even still!

Weaknesses: Strength, common sense, reliability.

Personality: Shy and quiet, it is hard to believe that Áine is related to her brother at all. Barely opening her maw from the time she was born, Áine is a mare of few words, easily embarrassed and unbearably shy. She enjoys the company of others, but does not like being the center of attention. She finds it difficult to make close friends, but loves deeply and undeniably.
Appearance: Short but lithe, Áine's pale palomino coat almost hides the splashed paint markings that decorate her legs and underbelly. Bi-coloured eyes show the nervousness that sits within her heart, and thin, sparse mane and tail attempt to hide as much of her face as possible. Her body is proportionate, but her legs are not as long and graceful as her brother's, and, with hooves just fractionally too big for her legs, she is a tripping hazard to herself.
Short History: Born into the shadow of her devilish brother, Áine spoke very little in the first four years of her life. Painfully shy, she has made few friends in her life with the herd, but that does not mean that she doesn't enjoy her life as a hunter.

Strengths: Herb-gathering, good listener, creative, great storytelling.
Weaknesses: Crippling shyness, detests attention, shies from new faces, daydreamer.
