»fandom: I Am Number Four (Film)
»personality: Sam is what one would call the misfit "science nerd". He's really intelligent and has extensive knowledge about science and astronomy, but it doesn't really get appreciated. He puts a lot of time
learning about outer space, the stars, even the possibility of extraterrestrials, but it all gets turned down by his classmates, specifically the football team. As much as they get under his skin, Sam does his best to ignore his bullies. After all, it's not like anyone would even listen to him if he asked for help. The amount of favoritism for Mark and his squad and bias against Sam was just enough for him to completely avoid the staff and fellow students. This has led to him to grow quiet, never talking to anyone at school and keeping to himself throughout the day. The only time he only ever seemed to open up to anyone was when he met John on the new student's first day. By that time, Sam was completely silent about his belief in alien existence and his fascination with science and space. That doesn't mean he doesn't get overly excited about any evidence. In fact, when John admitted to him that he was an alien, Sam freaked out in glee and started to ramble about knowing it was true and theorizing his dad was abducted.
When it comes down to it, Sam is generally faithful and a loyal friend, always sticking by the side of those he cares about. On top of that, he never lets anything sway him from the search for his dad, believing that the man is out there somewhere and that he can be the one to bring him back home. He's the one that can be seen holding onto a spark of hope when everyone else has lost it, or even the one anchoring everyone down with the truth of reality. Despite his optimism and hope, Sam knows when it's time to step back and realize that there isn't anything to do anymore.
When he first meets someone, he can come off as cold and silent, someone who refuses to speak unless necessary. That isn't always the case, because sometimes he will be willing to do minimal small talk, albeit he is extremely awkward. Then again, he never loses his awkwardness. Sam is practically a walking embodiment of the whole meaning of awkward. Even if someone becomes close friends with him and he's openly smiling and joking around, he still has a hint of awkwardness outside of his genuine laughter. What can you expect from a kid who's been a social outcast for three years, though? At least he tries to be social when people are actually open to listening to him and his alien and video game fascinations.
»likes/dislikes: + space, video games, science, conspiracy theories, extraterrestrials, literally anyone with superpowers, friends, people who listen to him
- bullies, being an outcast, feeling defensive/helpless/like a damsel in distress (he's a weak boy ;_;), assholes, basically anything to do with why he's bullied, his stepdad
