the surface of gaius' personality is much of what you would expect from
a thief. calm, cool, collected, he's good at holding a poker face and at
thinking things through before acting on them. all of that changes the
moment candy or other baked sweets are brought into the scenario, though.
gaius has a major sweet tooth, and his will practically crumbles at the thought
of any sort of candy -- it almost means more to him than money does.
despite gaius' thieving ways and horrendous sweet tooth, he does have
a rather stable moral code, and refuses to harm or kill innocents. but
at the same time, he doesn't believe in "something for nothing" and if
he does something for you, you best believe he will get something out
of you in return. once gaius befriends someone, they have his loyalty
until they break it -- he also enjoys teasing and nicknaming people
he becomes familiar with.
