βΈβΈNeed to know:
Yasmin has always been a little bit of a perfectionist, as can be seen when she spends too much time arranging a set of flowers, a trait drilled into her by her parents, who only wanted the best for their clearly intellectually gifted daughter, but didn't seem to realise that the pressure was sometimes more than she could handle, though Yasmin was never upfront about this, as she didn't wish to disappoint them, and thus does her best to present herself in her best possible light, seemingly always prompt and ready for whatever event occurs. She is a very good strategist, and will plan for as many contingencies as she can think of, but if all her plans fail, she will fall into a panic and withdraw herself immediately.
Though Yasmin may often appear only interested in academics, she does wish to socialize, though refrains from doing so, as she's never quite sure how to interact, and hates to get things wrong, at least, as she sees it. She tends to shy away from interactions, and gets flustered quite quickly and very defensive or brash, which is why she prefers to take a few moments to think before she speaks, or she won't speak at all; often in these situations, English will fail her, and she will fall into a long stream of Urdu. When given enough time, Yasmin is extremely articulate, and may sound rather proud and cocky, and can be quite blunt or seem aggressive, as she tends not to take well to idle chit-chat, though she is trying to work on that.
However cold and apathetic she may usually appear, there are two topics that she will get very excited about: flowers and cooking. You wouldn't even think she was the same person you started talking to five minutes ago and she is found to be much more amenable, as well as very adept at cooking.
The florakinetic spent the majority of her early life in Pakistan, and the place where she lived had never seen more flowers bloom than the moment she was born. She was the fourth of five siblings, with three older sisters and one younger brother, none of whom exhibited mutant abilities.
Yasmin has always been hardworking and aiming to do better, from a young age, and her parents were very proud of her, though this pride did lead to them pushing Yasmin towards more scientific professions, and while the girl decided she wouldn't mind a career in biochemistry, much like her father's, she much preferred botany, and agriculture based bioengineering.
Yasmin became aware of her abilities when going to school one day, and she managed to bring up a small bush on a piece of land that had not been able to grow anything for years. For a while, she kept it to herself, unsure how her parents would react, and when she finally did explain to them what she could do, when she turned fourteen, they themselves were unsure how to react. Her mother and father wanted what was best for Yasmin, and they knew that some people around them would not be so accepting of her exceptional ability, so when the letter from a school for mutants, both Yasmin and her parents were reluctant to accept, though eventually they decided it was for the best, and while they never really explained it to her brother and sisters, Yasmin's family has done their best to support the girl as much as they can.
