Eaglepaw

═══════════════════════
B a s i c
I d e n t i f i c a t i o n

Gender: Male
Age: 6 Moons
Breed: Chocolate Lab
═══════════════════════
S t a t u s

Pack: Thunderpack
Rank: Apprentice
Warrior Name: Eagleflight
═══════════════════════
P e r s o n a l
T r a i t s

Personality: Sweet, trusting, gullible. Eaglepaw wants to follow the rules, and one day become a warrior. At a young age, he memorized the warrior code, and sticks to it. He's extremely submissive, however, and oftentimes will give up and let someone else dominate. He has no desire to lead the pack, or have any rank of a high order. He just wants to be a warrior, following the warrior code, living and dying to help the pack. He, however, sees justice as whatever a packmate in power sees justice, and when someone of a high rank makes a bad decision, he often won't acknowledge it.
History: His father died in a serious fight against a family of foxes, and his mother died shortly after he was born. Eaglepaw was raised by the whole pack, and is proud of it.

Rouge Runner, I was reading the rules, and I came across the rule where it said that Omegas weren't allowed to take a mate, or apprentice, and I find this quite odd.

If Omegas weren't allowed to take mates, why are there still Omegas? Wouldn't the role be long forgotten as the Omegas died out, without any offspring to carry on their roles?

and if they aren't allowed to take apprentices then how do they know how to gather moss, and water, and do all of the Omega chores that they need to do?

What if a dog for whatever reason, decided they wanted to be an Omega, because of an injury, or they were forced to? What if they didn't want to be forced to be a Medicine Dog/Cat? like Jayfeather, or Cinderpelt were, in the books? Who would train them, or teach them to be the best Omega? No one. I would think, because Omegas are not allowed to have an apprentice.

@Owlcat
I find that odd too. I also think Omegas should be treated nicely for all the boring chores they do.
I have Autism more specifically Asperger's so please go easy on me if I'm not posting.

@ Owlcat The idea behind the omega rank is that it isn't any kind of desirable one; omegas exist because dogs, unlike cats, vary incredibly in size and power, and so, inevitably, some members are simply too weak to survive on their own or become warriors. Thus, the Pack doesn't need omegas so much as some dogs just aren't fit to be anything else, so preventing them from breeding will prevent extra mouths that can't provide for themselves being born by extension. The apprentice thing is less important. Mostly, it just refers to the fact that an omega can't train a warrior apprentice because they're unfit to be warriors themselves and would clearly make for poor teachers. However, they could theoretically show a new omega the ropes, but there wouldn't be much to teach and the Packs want as few of them as possible, so it wouldn't make sense to show potential warriors that they have the option to become part of what they view as an entirely worthless rank. Also, I guess that a dog would become an omega by default if they refused to become a medicine dog, unless they served as a warrior first because they would instead be an elder in honor of their past services. Just to clarify, I wouldn't think of this setup as necessarily a good or fair one; rather, much like how medicine cats can't have kits, there should be ways around these rules, but old-fashioned society just doesn't see it that way and that is why it persists. Does that make sense?

Eaglepaw is accepted.

@ Owlcat No problem!

@ Everyone Four announcements: 1) Alphas, betas, medicine dogs, and medicine dog apprentices are now required to post at least twice on a weekly basis and will be demoted if they fail to meet this requirement (unless a roleplayer asks for a LOA beforehand); 2) due to issues with my current listing method, attendance will not be accounted for this week, so don't worry if you don't make it this time; 3) I want to find a moderator to help me with checking for attendance, accepting new characters, and planning narratives for the RP, so please let me know if you're interested; and 4) this is the last call for prophecy members - I will be finalizing the list of participants sometime tomorrow, so please alert me if you have any possible additions now.

With the change in attendance rules I will likely be staying.
I’d be interested in working as a moderator as well ^^

And as stated before,

All of my pups are open for prophecy work. I think Between them, though, Honeyhop would be a good choice simply because he’s a very good speaker and an incredibly difficult dog to bring to hysteria. Despite his obvious laziness he would go if told to, or if asked to by another member.

I'll stay I like it so far.
As for the omega problem I think Goldenheart can help with that as her pack has no omegas.

@ DrMoneyBags That's awesome! I'll look into Honeyhop as a potential prophecy member and I'll send over basic info about how moderating will work. If you're still interested afterwards, you can try being a moderator for a week and keep the position if you perform well and like it.

@ Firelight_AA Sorry, I'm confused - what omega problem?
