NAME brooks. she used to go by brook-water, but that's too much of a mouthful so now everybody knows her as just brooks.
GENDER female / shewolf. she/her pronouns.
AGE 4 years. she was born during winter, and she and her sister barely made it past the first week. but they did, which is probably why she's so rough around the edges.
RANK healer. she's always had a knack for helping others, ever since puphood, and the fact that memorizing herbs comes naturally to her is just an added bonus. she finds it rather easy to identify a sickness when the time comes, too.
APPEARANCE brooks is light on her paws, with a petite, taut build and sharp features. her coat is a dark and light mix of different shades of brown, her eyes a vibrant yellow-green color unique to wolves. overall, she's quite the fierce looking wolf, with angular eyes and a sharp looking snout. luckily for her, her face is rather feminine- with curved edges and angles that make her fur appear softer than it really is. speaking of fur, her coat is filled with grey and brown tufts that are soft and feathery, so dense that a whole paw could be lost in the layers of it. her lips are often slightly curled with a sneer, showing off her sharpened, glinting white canines that seem to reflect beneath the moon's glow. on an ordinary day, she carries herself with poise and slight relaxation, her shoulder-blades straight, head forwards yet not quite straight up, tail low to the ground and ears slightly pushed back. she's got a slight limp from a bear a year back, but do not mention it and you'll be fine. at times, brook can have quite the intimidating aura to her. she's just got that mean glare and smoldering gaze that many other wolves fear.
SCENT brooks scents of strong, tangy berries and citrus. she's got such a distinct, full scent that the healers den reeks of citrus and berries, and so does any other den she comes in contact with far too often.
PERSONALITY brooks is a prime example of how healers aren't always very friendly. she's a no-nonsense type of she-wolf, which means that she's not very easily swayed and she refuses to let anybody boss her around without snapping at their neck, first. at times she struggles to submit, her pride getting the best of her, but she is respectful enough to know her boundaries between each of the higher ranking wolves- even if she is constantly testing them. additionally, she's the type of she-wolf that snaps at other's when needed, her ferocity unmatched. at times she can be quite frightening, with her sharp glinting teeth and narrow golden eyes, but deep down- she's too compassionate to actually hurt another wolf, or even dog. which is exactly why she took up the healer position. she just doesn't have it in her to hurt others, no matter how angry they make her or how annoying they can be, the guilt eats up at her on the inside and she's only been known to lash out violently if she's protecting someone else. another thing to note is her rather intelligent streak. she's good at picking up on signs, whether they be caused by nature or by other creatures, meaning she can occasionally predict things before they happen- such as minor things like serious blizzards or heavy storms. but that's not to say everybody believes she can predict such things...
LIKES water, bathing, cold temperatures- as her fur's much too thick for the heat, bantering with others, exploring new territories for herbs, surprisingly- she adores pups. they're the packs future and even if she is rather ferocious at times, if a pup ever came up to her looking for help, she'd give them plenty. even a dog pup, because theyre still pups too- wolf or not.
DISLIKES high-density crowds of two-legged creatures, unneeded violence, aggression towards the weak, heat-waves, dehydration; she gets hallucinations at times, and most of all- she absolutely despises disrespect.
SKILLS when cornered, brooks is quite like a rabid animal. her fight-or-flight instinct will surge, and before she knows it, she'll be snapping and tearing at every inch of limb she can reach. in this mind-set, she's deadly, her bites fatal more often than not. asides from that, she's a brilliant observer and can notice the changes in seasons or weather behavior
before a storm comes, and she's also quite a keen tracker. her best trait, though, would be her knowledge of herbs. she can look at a plant and instantly name whether or not it is poisonous.
WEAKNESSES despite her love of the water, she is an absolutely terrible swimmer. theres such a high chance that she'll drown in the water, that if the pack was ever to migrate across a lake, she'd have to find a way around it or be left behind. additionally, she's quite the small wolf, under average size, meaning that average or large dogs can take her on and likely win unless her fight-or-flight is triggered.
FEARS her greatest fear would be drowning, but there are minor ones too- like fear of her pack leaving her behind, fear of causing a death, and fear of watching someone she loves die- without any control.
OTHER pie.
SEXUALITY heterosexual. she wishes to have a mate that she can grow old with, and that she can raise pups together with- meaning she'd rather a fertile mate than not.
EYES FOLLOW... no one, yet.
PREFERENCES because of her snappiness, brooks likes the playful type of male. a mate that can be fun and immature when times are tense. despite that, immaturity can get boring quickly, meaning she wants a mate that doesn't lack depth. she want's someone to talk with for hours on end, about absolutely nothing and everything at the same time, and she wants a mate that she can invision a future with.
FAMILY once upon a time, brooks was born brook-water to a mother; ash-spring, a father; stag, and two younger sisters; doe and river-stream. both of her parents passed due to old age, and unfortunately, doe passed away. but river-stream left on her own accord. she left the pack in search of a mate, and brooks hasn't seen her for about one and a half years now. it's a pity, she was her closest and only friend since puphood.
PAST brooks has lived a relatively ordinary life, but her life's most defining moment would've been when she endured her first fight. at the time, doe was still in the pack, and they had stumbled upon a bear's carcass whilst hunting- or, she was looking for new herbs, but the other's were hunting. another member of the pack had joined them, but he was an old wolf- fur so grey and rugged it looked like it'd fall out just by the breeze ripping past, and so he wasn't of much use. when they had been dragging out the carcass, planning to bring it back to the pack, a bear began to charge at them and they were forced to scatter in a fit of panic. the bear had come out of nowhere, and now they were in danger- as it was furious. something snapped in brook when the bear charged at them, aiming for doe first, and before she knew it- she was launching herself at its thick, tough hide. teeth met skin, and she just held onto it until her jaw felt numb from the sheer force of her grip. try as he might, the bear could not shake her from his shoulder-blade, and she worked as a great distraction for allowing doe a pocket of time to grab the carcass and flee, the male wolf behind her. they were all too small to take on a fully grown male-bear, so it was their best plan yet. when they had dispersed, brooks let go of his shoulder and sprinted away as fast as she could, but she was low on energy and not as nimble as she would've hoped. the bear caught up to her, and struck her down with a mighty paw, shattering her back left leg. the yelp she let out was loud enough to echo, and to this day she still remembers the feeling of relief when the bear fled at the sight of doe returning. it was quite an eventful day...
DEATH... one day in the future, brooks will drown. she'll be trying to overcome her fear of the water, get too cocky, and slip. the next minute- she'll be trapped beneath the water and suffocating, thrashing for help to no avail.
