personality; dimitri is an incredibly reserved and standoffish man, preferring to keep to himself and disliking the attention being on him, he shows little interest in befriending other people and is terrible at small talk, often standing in silence if there is no topic that needs to be discussed. this dour and isolated manner is nothing personal, though, as he behaves the same way around anybody, no matter their rank or importance. blunt and generally no-nonsense, dimitri does not hesitate to correct those around him, even if he is not participating in the conversation. a huge perfectionist, he tends to beat himself up for his smallest mistakes and flaws, wishing to improve but being uncomfortable coming outside of his comfort zone. he is by-the-books when it comes to rules, following them to a t and pulling people up on any offences to rules. dimitri is very methodical, always making sure that everything is in the correct place and disliking messy places - insisting on tidying up if he deems an area messy which is often any area that isn't completely organised. taking pride in his intelligence, dimitri will always have a book with him, usually carrying a satchel which contains more, he is eager to constantly build on his knowledge which results in him knowing things about multiple subjects with no correlation; he believes he is just "prepared" due to this, though.
due to liking to be left to his own devices and finding the company of his pokémon much better than other people, he has a strong dislike for loud people, looking down on those who are boisterous and making a point to keep his distance from them. determined and rather ambitious when it comes to furthering his knowledge, the one way to get him to show a more jovial mood would be to discuss topics that interest him or to somehow manage to befriend him. despite the cold exterior, if someone manages to get close to him and earn his trust, he will become more talkative and friendly with them although due to his poor people skills he has never had someone become close to him before. since a young age, dimitri has had the bad habit of pushing away those close to him, afraid to show his true colours as he believes that would leave him vulnerable and have his mistakes on show.
