THE REIGN OF BIRCHSTAR


The clan that had once been peaceful &
that hadn't fought for generations had been
simply eradicated by one cat and his ideals.

It seems the tom has gone mad with power,
no longer can females be warriors but he
had made it so they could only be queens.

He brought the death of my son, with his
endless battles for his sick entertainment.

He brought death to many young ones when
he made them to be warriors when they
would have stayed with their mother.

He murders anyone who disagrees with the
ways he ruins the clan.

Every queen is now assigned to a tom even
if they disagree with it.

Keep up, little one, it's a lot to take in,
but we must change our clan's fate.
Before there is no clan left.

bio: the now leader of pondclan was born to average warriors, along with his brother,
flintkit. he had always wanted to become leader even when he was little, and there had been
no changing his mind. when he had become deputy, he had murdered the leader and had tried
to gain his nine lives which he never received. birchstar had arranged everyone assigned mates
except himself, as he had already had a mate and kits. anyone that speak wrong of him would
get harshly punished, and anyone that had attempted to revolt would die. like his mate, she
had been murdered at her own kits' apprentice ceremony. his brother had been assigned as well,
but both of his mates had done wrong and they were murdered, but he had spared his brother
by exiling him very recently. lately, he has been thinking of ways of growing the clan even more
such as taking more territory, or possibly assigning several she-cats to one tom or something else
entirely. he has never told his brother why he had killed his first mate and his kits along with it,
but it had been that the kits weren't his brother's, they were his. he had forced sprucethroat by
threatening to kill his brother if she hadn't had his kits at all, so she bore the leader's kits instead.
now he has a new mate that he assigned to himself, although he hasn't quite picked up on that she
hates him even if she has already had his kits.

bio: the soon-to-be leader of pondclan was born to birchstar and lightstep, along with his
sister goldenkit. his father had decided to go against the clan rules and make early warriors,
assigning cats to each other not even giving them a choice, along with no longer having any
she-cats as warriors. his mother had refused to follow with her mate, & she had been killed
for it at their apprentice ceremony. none had chosen to disobey for a while, and although
he and goldenpaw had been favored by him, others weren't as lucky and he knew it. others
had been murdered for less by his father, and he quickly learned he could have been one of
them when he had blinded her. he had tried to make sure she had been fed and sent to the
medicine cat soon after but his father knew and he had goldenwater exiled. he knew he was
a coward shortly after when he hadn't left with her. she was gone, & he was also paired off
to a she-cat he had barely known, named kestreldawn. they had never had kits of their own,
as he had always made himself quite busy before his father could force it. moons later, his
father had been found dead in his nest, his sister had returned to the clan in the night, and
he had been chosen as the new leader in place of his father.

left pondclan territory, she was a wreck. she couldn't navigate anymore, and could barely
hunt if at all. she was found by a loner, and they later became mates. one day he hadn't come
back, and she went out to find him, she never had. she wandered before she was taken in by
a surprisingly helpful twoleg, not long after she had lost both of the kits. moons later, when
she had almost forgot about her old home, kestreldawn had found her and took her back.

bio: the queen was born to blackfin and grayfire, having been the only kit living through the
night, which is what her name was from. she had never known what her siblings' names had been
as she grew up to be a warrior, easily butting heads with another warrior a moon older than her.
after some time though, her mother had passed from greencough and her rival was the only one
she had been able to talk to. they had grown closer after that, and he had asked her to be his
mate. she said yes, of course, to no surprise to anyone else in the clan, apparently they had made
a bet on it a moon before. her father was happy for her although he had grown ill as she grew older
and he had only lasted until she was expecting breezethroat's kits. she had just found out and she
went to tell her father but he died moments before.

him to sprucethroat, with whom he had eventually fallen in love with. they had kits despite
what his brother had made the clan, unknowing that he would assume that the kits weren't
his, his mate and his kits had been murdered. their parents had quickly tried to tend to their
son, but it was too late and their son had killed them as well. after some time, he was alright
and was once again assigned to another she-cat. he avoided her at first, afraid it would happen
again. but within several moons, he had another chance at love. sometime later, they had kits
and there had been no denying they were his as they looked exactly like him. streamkit and
willowkit had become apprentices at only four moons old, against ashstem's & his own wishes.
streampaw had been killed by a fox when someone had left her alone, and willowpaw had died
from fighting off an older warrior. ashstem couldn't live anymore and drowned herself in the
pond in camp.

her father had died fighting to entertain the current leader of the clan, but thankfully no one
else had died in the fights, and birchstar had stopped it before anything else happened. she
had been a new warrior when he had first begun his reign, making all females into queens and
giving everyone assigned mates, including himself. she had been assigned to snowthorn, brother
of one of her good friends, icewillow. even as she is expecting his kits, she worries that their
relationship was just that, assigned, and hasn't exactly expressed that to anyone.

bio: the warrior was born to weaselfoot and swiftstrike, always living in his older brother's shadow
although he'd always known she hadn't meant to. birchstar had attempted to assign his father to
more than his mother, and weaselfoot would not stand for it, so the leader had fixed the problem
by simply killing him. all before he'd even been born, although it had been a little strange to him
at first, having a niece that was older than him. he's not quite known for being timid or being calm
like his father usually was, and actually acts similar to his brother. he is awfully blunt, and doesn't
think before he speaks and doesn't care much if he verbally hurts someone until he actually sees the
aftermath & feels really guilty. he is definitely not known to follow everybody else, and very much
wants to be different than birchstar, he wants nothing to do with the leader.

bio: the queen was born to darknose and ravensong, having been the only kit in the litter, and
she hadn't been harmed or anything, she was happy. she had always been close to another cat the
same age as her, he'd been her best friend. and that eventually grew into mates. her father had
gotten redcough and it had been a slow death. her mother had loved her father so much that she
couldn't live a life without him and drowned herself. it wasn't long after that when she had breeze
kit. she raised him and couldn't have been happier for him when he had fallen for nightwish, and
supported the relationship whole-heartedly. although she had been heart-broken when birchstar had
him fight for his life for nothing, she knew her son would have wanted nightwish to be alright so she
had made sure she was. she had another son, eaglekit, before breezethroat had died and not long
nightwish had had pinecloud. her son is now a warrior, but she wants him to be safe but he can't be.

bio: the warrior was born to stonepelt and sheepcoat, along with his brother owlkit, and had grown
up always getting in trouble, with his brother always getting him out of it moments later distracting
them. when he had grown into a warrior in time, he hadn't quite gotten out of the trouble phase but
his parents had another litter and had named her kestrelkit. when she became an apprentice, it had
been in birchstar's reign, and she hadn't been able to learn all that he and their parents had. so they
decided to train her themselves. although, it hadn't lasted until she had a chance to become a queen
because they were caught training her to fight. their parents had been murdered once birchstar had
realized and his brother had sacrificed himself saying that it was his idea instead of redear's. now he
has been recently assigned to scarletflame, although he feels that she should be able to be a warrior.
