Name(s): Juniperkit/Juniper Sex: ♀ Age: 22 Moons. Kin: Shrike/Brother, Furrow/Brother/Deceased, Dovestep/Mother/Deceased, Whiteear/Father/Deceased. Sexuality: Bisexual Crush: (open) Mate: (open) Status: Alive Rank: None/Rouge.
Personality: Collected, distrustful, cautious, kind, protective, loyal when you earn it, honest, determined, strong-willed, and enduring. While she may seem like nothing but a cold, tough, warrior she-cat, Juniper has a softer and nearly maternal side to her that only shows to those who have earned her friendship and affections. She is a good, reliable ally to have. She despises vanity, as well as slipping up, and likes those who have an understanding that while the world may be a bit of a cruel place, there's positives, and that the right thing is live to the best of your ability and do all that you can. It's what she does, anyway.
History:
In short, Juniper's mother, Dovestep, lost her mate, Whiteear, to fights instigated and ordered by Birchstar. Feeling Pondclan was no longer safe for her kits and struck with grief, she took off in the night, finding living the life of a rouge preferable to the hell she'd inhabited previously. She raised her kits well enough (into 5 moons), until a storm hit.
While Juniper and Shrike were safe and hidden in a secure nook, Furrow had been separated from them while they were playing, having chased after a vole. Juniper revealed this with great distress to their mother after they were secure, which led to Dovestep sprinting out into the rain and winds to find her third kit, and her death. She managed to locate Furrow, who had been hiding, terrified, in the crevice in the trunk of a tree. She pleaded with him to come to her, for the space was too narrow for her to snatch him herself, but he was struck dumb with fear, and remained petrified. In the middle of her coaxing, a great crack of lighting felled a nearby tree, which crushed her spine and killed her near instantly.
When Shrike and his sister found out what happened the following afternoon, Shrike was overcome with rage, blaming his brother for the death of their mother. He demanded Furrow leave, and he did, but only after Shrike threatened him with death, promising he'd kill his brother if he ever showed his face again. Juniper's attempts to save the situation did nothing, and she mistakenly believed her brother's promise of death to be null.
In the following three moons, Juniper and Shrike learned to fend for themselves, though Juniper was the better of the two.
During this time, She began to notice an innate cruelty Shrike possessed. He would cut the tendons in the legs of rabbits just to watch them squirm in the dirt and to hear their shrieks, or bite the wing off a bird and watch it try to get away from him, only to be intercepted again and again due to their crippled flight, and only when he became bored with them did he actually kill them. She never confronted him about it, but began to feel increasingly cautious and distant from her brother as time went on, partially because she recalled he would play with the mice their mother had brought them long before eating them, and found entertainment in watching the blood squeeze from its wounds. She cursed herself for having failed notice this behavior before, and began to think that Shrike's threat towards their brother may not have been only for show, as she previously figured.
True to her train of thought, Furrow appeared at their encampment weeks later, fittingly in the rain, and when confronted with hissing and agitated questions from his brother, he professed having believed they could make amends now, since they were siblings, after all, and his part in Dovestep's death only being accidental. Juniper quickly intervened before things could spiral out of control, stepping in-between her brothers and bringing reason to the table. Both appeared to have calmed down, until Shrike, without any kind of warning, leapt upon his brother, and, after a brief struggle, nearly tore out his jugular with his teeth. Furrow did not survive, regardless of Juniper's desperate attempts to save him. After she realized he was lost, she turned upon her brother with bared teeth, and soon vicious spitting and arguing turned into claws upon flesh. This is where she earned her two most noticeable scars, and her brother his. They separated after this, and haven't seen eachother since. Juniper promised to kill him if she ever saw him again.
Many moons after the dramatic events involving Shrike, she stumbled upon a Pondclan patrol.
