Hilbert has consistently left those who interact with him baffled. How can a man working an 8 to 10 job live off of nothing but coffee, cruddy takeout, and kaiju movies? Why would anyone sign on with a job in Aether, of all companies? His few friends search for answers endlessly. They see a young man with a Masters in Chemistry and odd habits and hope to find some sort of rationale - why else would someone obtain success yet appear to struggle? His answer is always the same; "I'm broke".
A fresh graduate tossed into an over-saturated market, Hilbert has found himself struggling both with an enormous student debt and an inability to find a job to pay them off. With every month and every missed apartment payment his debts grow greater, a massive weight on his shoulder that'll snap his back someday. Already he finds himself growing more and more weary of it with every passing day. Faced with the same basic choices every day, his feet have begun to drag on tasks he found enjoyable and exciting in the past. On the worst days he struggles to even get out bed, held down by the pointlessness and monotony of everything.
But even on his best days demons still nip at his heels. Worries. Anxieties. Fear. Will Aether fire him if he screws up today? What will happen then? Will he be disposed of like the rumors say? If his debt continues to soar will he be tossed on the street? With a mind flitting constantly with worries yet never possessing the energy to deal with them, Hilbert seeks reprieve wherever he can and in the simplest of things. Perhaps it isn't wise to hug a Salandit. Maybe a 10' King Sazandora statue isn't the best purchase, but he would gladly waste both health and money for even the slightest release from his own thoughts.
The second specimen of the Type: Full line created by Faba, 002 was designed to be the tank of the group and possesses a body to match. It stands a good foot or two taller than the other Type: Nulls and about 40 lbs heavier with a bright yellow coloration... All meant to draw the attention and aggro of attackers so its slighter siblings can get their hits in. In its mind there is no priority greater than protecting those it cares for, yet when paired with its headstrong, persistent nature the results were disastrous.
To 002, who has known nothing but threats and pain since creation, anything new is dangerous and anything dangerous is to be eliminated for the safety of the group. Researchers and doctors alike, that which it perceives as hurting its fellow Nulls will be pursued relentlessly - several times now it has worn itself out to the point of unconsciousness attempting to "save" its siblings from things such as medical checkups or being moved to another room. Sedation soon became the preferred means of working around 002's attachment issues. Full of unknown factors as 002 is, there is one thing for certain: whichever unlucky trainer gets saddled with it will face an endless struggle getting it to move past its trauma and self destructive nature.
