Just a little spoiler alert, when Ganondorf is eventually killed/sealed away, Desolate Link will cease to exist. His mission was to change his future, and he knew from the start that by doing so, he would no longer exist. So there's definitely going to be some tearful farewells when Ganondorf is defeated
