Long ago, two realms lived in harmony. They were mirror realms, meaning the lands in each realm were exactly alike, down to the smallest detail. In one, lived the humans, who were peaceful and kind. In the other, lived the chimaera, creatures with humanoid forms, but various animal features. They coexisted peacefully, helping each other and benefiting from the others existence. That is, until the humans began destroying their world. They destroyed its natural preserves, stripping it if it's resources and killing the animals in the process. And so, one of the chimaera elders concocted a spell, one that would separate the two realms, permanently. However, a few doorways still remain, for those humans who still respect nature and the animals.
One day, while cutting down a forest for the lumber, a shrine hidden in the forest was found. The men cutting down the trees disregarded the shrine, continuing their work. More shrines have been appearing all across the world, and only a select few know the purpose of the shrines: A doorway to the chimaeras' world. Some humans have ventured into the shrines, only to be transported to the other world. More and more are doing so, and the chimaera are doing the same. So, if you see an unfamiliar creature in your world, either an odd, furless, and strangely simple creature if you're a chimaera, or an animalistic creature if you're a human, just know that a doorway is nearby.
So, basically, your character can be either a human or chimaera. Your form must state which they are; and if they're a chimaera, then you must state which animalistic qualities they have! Otherwise, go wild.
