Maddox is... Complex but yet simple. Although just by his appearance, you can tell he's a strong, tough man but Maddox is more than just a pretty body. Confident, in everything he does, from talking to people, to hard labor or tasks, he can do both as well as any other, charismatic and persuasive, he's able to seep into most people's heart through his words (or perhaps nice looks?). Ambitious, though realistic, he's very straightforward and blunt with what he wants and what he's doing, not to mention incredibly single-minded, though he can multitask, he tends to zone in on his wants; mix this with his abrasive and assertive personality, it can cause some clashes with his personality. Despite this, Maddox is a great person to listen to, he's determined, intuitive and patient with friends, though not so much with others, he's ready to listen and help you form a plan. Unfortunately, Maddox is also quite reactive and can get a bit aggressive when the right buttons are hit, especially against his pride or friends.
Standing at 6 foot and weighing nearly 180 pounds, Maddox is a big guy, and a good portion of that is muscle, mostly because he works out nearly every day. With dirty blonde hair that he usually keeps to one side and lighter skin, it helps accent his blue eyes, vividly, especially in the right lights. Maddox has a few tattoos along his arms, mostly things from his younger, more rebellious days, he doesn't hate them now, but they seem silly and immature to him... at least a times; most of the time he likes them. He also has another token from his youth, one ear is pierced, he usually has it in unless he's exercising, which he takes it out.

Maddox's mother, at 16, fell in love with a man passing through town, after a few fun days, she awoke to an empty bed. Less then a month later, she discovered she was pregnant, she was kicked out of her home and was taken in by a friend. When Maddox was almost a year old, they moved into a small trailer, one bedroom, which they shared until Maddox started sleeping on the couch to give his mother more room. She was the best mother she ever could have been, especially with no help, she spent all of her time outside of work, with him. Life wasn't perfect but everyone was happy...
One night, when Maddox was 12, his mother didn't come home, confused and worried, he waited all night and eventually fell asleep, he was awoken by the police the next morning, they drove him up to the hospital in the next town over, that was where he met his grandparents for the first time. His mother had collapsed at work, and was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, it had spread into more of her body already... His grandparents were going to pay for all her treatments, they offered for him to come live with them, but he begged his mother to let him stay at home, eventually, his grandparents gave up and started paying the rent. At 14, Maddox got a job at McDonald's, working as much as he could between school and work, he sent money to his grandparents for rent, and started declining their money for food, water and clothes, and every day that he could, Maddox would go see his mother, but she was deteriorating, anyone could see that. His mother finally died a year later, and Maddox, nearly 16 now, grew angry. He got in with the wrong group of kids, started smoking both weed and cigarettes, he started skipping classes, he started missing shifts at work, and he grew more and more angry. At one point, he ended up getting in a rather rough fight with another group of kids, the police arrived, and everyone scattered, he avoided getting arrested but went home to nurse his bruised body and bloody knuckles but that fight... It got his blood pumping, he had started enjoying how he was just hitting something over and over again. Maddox was a big guy, even at 16, he used this to pick on drunk guys, trigger them into a fight so he could have an excuse to hit something, after a very close encounter by the police, he stopped for a while.
He started throwing rocks through an empty house, just to get his anger out; he ended up getting caught and was charged with destruction of private property. His grandparents paid the fines and chewed him out but he didn't listen... Didn't care about anything. Maddox stopped for a bit, he kept skipping school but stopped skipping work, but that anger just didn't go away... Eventually, he started hanging around bars again, trying to find someone to provoke into a fight but one night... He provoked the wrong guy, the guy was only a few inches bigger but he out weighed him, even drunk, the dude knocked the crap out of him.
Maddox hadn't even realized he had lost conscious in the alley until someone was nudging him with their foot. That was the first time Maddox met the chief of police, one Allen Sheppard... Instead of arresting him, he drove him home, helped him inside and let him collapse on the bed, he was beaten to crap, and he was pretty sure the guy had bruised his ribs since it hurt to breathe. Maddox had thought that was the last time he'd have to see him, but he was awoken, after sleeping all day, by the same man who had gotten him home, defensive and rude, he tried to drive the man off, who ignored his sharp words to toss peroxide and bandages at him, once he was all wrapped up, much to his wounded pride, this time, when he left, Maddox made sure to lock the door. Chief Sheppard showed up the next morning, blasting his siren outside the trailer until Maddox stumbled out, ready to drag him to school, and this was the situation, most days he'd drive him to school on the way to work, some days, when he was busy, Maddox was driven by other cops until he finally got the hint and started trying. He got his grades up enough to barely qualify to graduate on time, he got back into working and dropped connections with his old toxic group of friends. Eventually, he got a better job, learning to be a mechanic, and he moved out of the trailer.
