Dogs of Theif's Row (Discussion and Characters)

Postby Dracowolf » Sat Sep 15, 2018 12:30 pm

This is the discussion section for this RP

Rules of the RP
1. Above all else, use logic. Skilled fighters won’t struggle against a novice fighter. Equal fighters will struggle and won’t dodge any attack. If you’re making your character dodge everything and land every hit, it will not end well.
2. If your character does something stupid more than once, they will have consequences and that could be death.
3. Grammar and spelling are important. No text talk, mistakes happen but try. I understand typos and autocorrects. Please also give everyone something to work with when you reply, we can’t reply to one word posts.
4. Please avoid writing in the first person, it’s disorienting to go from reading third person replies to a first person.
5. Give people something to work with in terms of your reply. As in no one word replies
6. If you haven’t read the rule of the website, please do.

Character Rules:
1. Balance is everything, if your character is large and bulky it is unlikely they're going to be the fastest, if your character is smaller and nimble it's unlikely they're going to be the strongest. Mutations sometimes give certain abilities like giving them an extra weapon like horns or a sturdy tail, these still need to be balanced.
2. You can have as many characters as you want.
3. You can use your own form but all info on the one provided in the OOC section must be followed.
4. Breed wise, there are some rules, while you can use any breed of dog you want wolf-dog hybrids are rare and tend to be among those in Theif’s Row if anywhere. As such I may cut off allowing them if everyone starts to make hybrids.

Despite being in a Medieval Setting you can use modern dog breeds.
When it comes to the Withered and their mutations, essentially imagine that magic when it's raw, unprocessed (and it takes several phases to process) is like radiation, but in a fantasy sense.

Name: Natalia
Age: 4 Years
Gender: Female
Group: Thief's Row Dog
Previous Owner's Occupation: Assassin
Breed: Wolf-Dog
Desired Role: Alpha
Looks:
Image

Personality: Natalia can be seen as rather serious, often sarcastic and distant from others. This is mainly a front due to what her job was, working along side an assassin. There is no doubt that she cares for those on Thief's Row though, she just never made a big deal out of what she did. She would occasionally drop off food to those who couldn't find their own, and always looked out for pups. She has a strong dislike for those of the High End areas, thinking of most of them as lazy and useless. She never understands why they would follow a King.

Brief History: Half wolf, half dog, Natalia is certainly fierce and quick. She was chosen as a puppy for her dark coat and trained by an assassin to help him do what needed to be done. She was trained to kill, fight, steal, anything she was ordered to do. To the humans outside of Thief's Row seeing her meant that death was coming for them. Within Thief's Row there was respect given, every human staying a few steps away from her. None would stop her from taking something if she wanted it, and if she growled they backed off out of fear of her owner. This put her in a position to help those who had been abandoned in the streets.

This also left her with a head for tactics. Diplomacy on the other hand is something she's lacking. She believes strongly in the idea that those in Thief's Row look after each other. Even if she doesn't show it with words often.

Name: James
Age: 2 Years
Gender: Male
Group: Thief's Row Dog
Previous Owner's Occupation: Stray
Breed: Husky
Desired Role: Fighter
Looks:

Personality: James is a massive flirt, and enjoys showing off occasionally. He enjoys talking to others, though food is the way to his heart in the end. He will tell light hearted jokes occasionally and can often be seen as lazy. Overall a nice guy though and certainly a good friend.

Brief History:
James lived his life on the streets of Thief's Row. He was used to small meals until about the time he met Natalia who would occasionally toss him something to eat. In response James started to help to keep the peace around the area and share what he knew with Natalia, becoming an informant and backup when required to her.

Name: Dereth
Age: 3 Years
Gender: Male
Group: High End
Previous Owner's Occupation: Noble - Diplomat
Breed: Shilo Shepherd
Looks:

Personality: A knight of sorts, Dereth believes in honor, justice, and all things good. He holds his head high and will fight for those who deserve protection, caring little about what happens to himself. He enjoys a good laugh, and a fun story along with an adventure. He tends to fall for sob stories, even if they're lies and thus can be led down the wrong path briefly, but ultimately doesn't want to hurt anyone.

Brief History: Dereth belonged to a noble who would often visit the city and made several trade and peace agreements with the King and Queen. As such, Dereth was often seen around the castle and made friends with many of the soldiers, talking about the places he had been and what he had seen.

Name: Leon
Age: 2 Years
Gender: Male
Group: High End
Previous Owner's Occupation: Soldier
Breed: German Shepherd
Looks:

From Wikipedia Commons

Personality: A soldier to the core, Leon is rather serious about what he does, always wanting to guard and respectful to authority. He tends to be sarcastic with others if they approach him unless he thinks they are of higher rank than he is, even then though occasionally sarcasm will slip out. He can seem cold and distant but he does want protection for everyone.

Brief History: Leon was trained and raised by a kind soldier and oddly wasn't very well liked among the other soldiers, many of who had grown lazy over time due to the lack of threats. Leon never took breaks and was always serious about his job, and thus didn't enjoy when his co-workers would start to slack off or use their position to attract others.

Re: Dogs of Theif's Row (Discussion)

Postby Dracowolf » Sat Sep 15, 2018 12:49 pm

Name: Bane
Age: 5 Years
Gender: Male
Group: Withered
Previous Owner's Occupation: Healer
Breed: Caucasian Shepherd
Mutations: Far larger than a normal dog, he tends to practically tower over others, even a head above great danes.
Looks:
Image
From Wikimedia

Personality: A gentle giant, Bane's size makes him nervous always afraid of stepping on others. He tends to keep to himself, not really knowing how to socialize properly with others. There's no doubt he's smart and kind though, he would rather be looking after others than anything else. He hates fighting, despite having the size and natural muscle mass to be very strong. He's useless at hunting, his paw steps are extremely heavy letting everyone know where he is and he's not fast enough to chase anything down. If pushed too far, Bane will lash out using his size and natural strength in a wild frenzy.

Brief History: Bane was owned by a cruel man who had no problem with abusing him as a pup. He thought Bane's large size would mean he would be good at defending others who pulled the wagons of magic. But Bane would back down from confrontation so easily and it seemed nothing really would get him to do so. The man kicked Bane one day and Bane snapped, lashing out at the man and biting him. For this Bane was nearly killed before a woman, a local healer stopped the man calling him out on what he had done. She took Bane and the two became as close as possible, Bane learning that some could be kind. He would watch and even try to help in his own way when someone was injured and brought to the woman. She was a healer, and Bane would simply bring supplies to her and watch her make herbal remedies to try and ease pain. When she wasn't working she liked to read books and often read them out loud to Bane who just enjoyed laying around and listening. Losing her has been devastating on Bane.

Name: Myna
Age: 3 Years
Gender: Female
Group: Withered
Previous Owner's Occupation: Worker
Breed: Belgian Shepherd mix
Mutations: Has a pair of white antlers, these antlers are capable of regrowing if broken, and will fall off every 4-6 months to regrow anyways.
Looks:
Image
Image from Wikimedia

Personality: Myna can be rather serious at times, but for the most part she goes from complete deadpan to laughing. She'll make a threat that looks like she'll follow through and then burst out laughing saying she's kidding. Of course if she doesn't, then there's a good chance it won't end well. She enjoys the company of others and can be outspoken if she disagrees with a decision.

Brief History: Myna pulled the wagons of magic that had only gone through its second processing phase to turn it into Shards. The volatile magic had caused her to have antlers, and all things considered she's lucky that's all she's gotten. She was for the most part just another grunt for the withered.

Reserve on the Queen noted.
Farm dog reserve, the position is open for more than one, so you'll get the spot even if others show up to try and create a bunch.
