Overview
This roleplay will center around a team of Guardians - an elite force that have sworn their lives to defend inhabitants of the realms - and their exploits through the realms, chasing the corrupt and maleficent. The roleplay will function under a series of plot arcs - each focusing on one specific mission our team is assigned, and lasting however long we collectively agree we'd like to/need to spend on it before moving onto the next arc.
The process to become a Guardian is open to all, beginning at the age of 11, at the youngest - even those with criminal records may enlist to the force, abiding by certain restrictions and going through lengthier screening processes. All Guardians must first attend a Guardian academy for four years, learning the basics of multiverse history, culture, and traditions, along with preparation battle training. Though this training gives them negligible skills compared to the ones they'll need to develop as an amateur Guardian, they are still far more skilled than anyone with regular battle training would be by the end of their four years studying at an academy. Guardian academies are situated all across the realms, generally on more major or densely populated planets.
Very few graduate from the Guardian academies - the training and education is rigorous, demanding, and many are sent home within their first year. Those who do graduate still aren't guaranteed a successful career as a Guardian - many more are sent away or simply drop out within their first few months as a novice Guardian.
Upon graduation, aspiring Guardians are sent to the Guardian headquarters - a massive fortress in Neuvarik, the expansive void of light and space between realms. Neuvarik is often considered the central realm - though many don't believe it can quite be called a realm. The Guardian headquarters is a sprawling campus of spires and halls, suspended among the empty light of Neuvarik. The complex is centered around an ancient monument - an inter-realm portal, surrounded by ancient spires and mosaicwork as a shrine, of sorts. The origin of this portal is not known, though many historians across the realms have speculated as to its nature.
Rules & Guidelines
- All CS rules apply.
- Strive to use proper grammar, spelling, etc. to the best of your ability. Avoid one-liners, but bottom line, just give people something to reply to.
- Quality over quantity.
- Roleplayers may have a maximum of four characters - only create characters if you intend to actively play them.
- Post character forms to the discussion thread and await acceptance.
Characters
- Each member may have up to four characters - only create characters if you intend to actively play them.
- Unofficial filler characters may be roleplayed for brief times, or in insignificant roles.
- Characters don’t need to be human - if they aren’t, please explain their race in their form (appearance, abilities, culture & traditions, etc. - whatever you think others need to know)
- Characters may have abilities (telekinesis, telepathy, shapeshifting, elemental abilities, enhanced attributes, etc.) as long as they aren’t overpowered - submit whatever powers you’d like in your form (but do be reasonable), and if there’s an issue with them being overpowered, I’ll tell you - it won’t affect your likelihood of acceptance, as long as you’re willing to make changes. Abilities may be a result of your character’s non-human race, or a genetic defect, the result of an inhuman encounter, etc. in human characters (be creative, explain their abilities however you’d like).
- Characters may come from any sort of realm (including Earth, in any time period - this is a vast multiverse). All characters will have learned a universal common language in the Guardian academy they attended, but they may know other languages, either from their upbringing or that they learned elsewhere.
Feel free to add extra fields as you see fit and format this however you like, as long as you include all the prompted information.
