Quiet descended. The gunfire had stopped.
This roleplay is set in the aftermath of a war, somewhere around 1920 in terms of technology. The location is non-specific, but has features similar to those in Canada. It is late winter.

In this rp, characters can be wolves, ex-military dogs left behind by the armed forces or dogs abandoned when their owners fled from the war (or any other similar circumstance you can think of). The wolves, disrupted by the fighting have formed a new pack with the dogs.

Rules:

1. All of Tess' rules apply.
2. Post length does not matter, but mostly correct grammar is important. I also would prefer it if you wrote in the 3rd person and in the past tense, although this isn't essential.
3. You can have any number of characters, by please keep this to a level that is manageable for you. Only one high ranking dog/wolf per user.
4. Your characters can not be mates/have crushes on each other.
5. Don't fight OOC.
6. Ask for permission before seriously injuring/killing someone elses character.
7. Drama and romance are encouraged, as they make the rp more interesting and dynamic.
8. All sexualities are allowed, although the alpha pair must consist of a male and female.
9. I reserve the right to not accept any characters if I see fit.
10. Please try and keep the ratio of wolves:dogs relatively even.

History: He was born and bred as a game hunting dog on a farm with other setters around him. However, the farm became unsafe as the fighting drew closer, and his owners chose to leave, taking the other dogs and him, or so they thought, with them. Luckily, they left quickly and forgot to take the remainder of a bag of dog food with them, and there were rats in the barn that he could chance at catching as not to starve. He joined the pack for protection.

Personality/Description: Piccolo is a loving, yet duty-driven dog who, therefore, is often stubborn and hard-headed at times. She always has good intentions, but can be a pessimist in some situations and is lacking belief in her own abilities, due to her abandonment at the end of the war. This causes her to have issues surrounding her self-worth. She also has shell-shock as a result of her past experiences.
She is 52cm tall and weighs 22kg.
History: She was bred for the war effort as a messanger, and worked as such for the majority of her life, until the fighting stopped. Unfortunately, one of her handlers was killed and the other did not want to adopt her so she was left behind, abandoned as the troops flew away back home. She was able to scavange and hunt for herself for a short amount of time, but did not pass on the opportunity of joining the pack.

Personality/Description: Derati is a true pessimist, through and through. He has a persistent negative outlook, of which he has little control. He tends to be blunt with his words and actions, which often causes others to dislike him. However, he has a softer interior, which can be seen by a select few.
He is 80cm tall and weighs 75kg.
History: He was abandoned by his pack as a pup, but his resilience allowed him to survive, whilst maintaining his pride. He lived as a loner for his whole life until joining the pack due to the lack of prey he could find by himself. This was not a decision made lightly, which he makes sure is clear to the rest of the pack as relying on others is something he is resentful of.

Personality/Description: Lyme is a nervous wolf, who is especially skittish around the domestic dogs in the pack as they remind her of her own pack's fate. Despite this, she may be able to form some sort of relationship, be it as friends or otherwise, in time with effort from both parties. Even so, she is able to suppress her fears when treating wolves as she believes it is selfish to put herself above their needs.
She is 75 cm tall at the shoulder and weighs 25kg.
History: Lyme lived happily with a pack of her own subspecies for much of her life. However, when the war moved into their hunting grounds, they were forced to move north into the colder forests. Even this was not enough, and, whilst fleeing once again, the rest of her pack were shot and skinned for warm clothes and food by some soldiers. Consequently, she is extremely fearful of people and all things that relate to them.

Personality: Falko prefers working quickly and hard all at once for a short period of time. He does not have the patience for stalking fast prey like caribou. Not that ambitious at all. However, he would love to join in on the chase and bringing down their next meal. You could call him lazy, but he actually just goes with the flow and does not fret about missed opportunities.
History: Falko has stayed in the same pack for most of his life until the prosperous hunting territory turned into a warzone and the freshkill bone-dry. Losing his family den and familiar grounds are one of the rare things that have angered him. Otherwise, he has been quite receptive to the new pack and newcomers even the dogs.

Personality/Description: Jorrie is jubilant, always wagging her tail and leaving her jaw open and tongue hanging out. The she-wolf embraces the greater results achieved with teamwork as she used to work hand in paw with her handler until the job was done. Because of her former handler's constant praise, she has grown a little overconfident in her abilities, but she's eager to volunteer herself up for any task.
History: Jorrie was born and raised in the army's military kennels, trained for sniffing bombs. She was happy to please her handler who grew attached to her such that after their first few semi-successful deployments, her handler began to fear war was too dangerous for the k9 and wished she lived a long and carefree life. Thus, her handler let her free into the forest and told command that her dog ran away after encountering several coyotes while they had to pack up and leave for another area. Of course, Jorrie did not understand at first why her handler would not follow, but she could read his body language that he wanted her to go. Ever since being released, she has been confused why her benevolent handler would abandon her. After secretly being discharged from service, she used her good sense of smell to track prey and dedicated herself to finding the source in memory of her handler like he would want her to.
Other: Hare is her favourite game, while wild petunia are her favourite scent.
