background story
Oliver has been a rogue most of his life. He used to hunt in the scrub areas near the Pale Grove,
but the pack that now resides there drove him off. When Oliver was a very young pup, barely
weaned, he was dumped into a box and thrown out into the street. His owners had abused him
before this incident, so he climbed out of the box and wandered off to get away from people.
He met a little Jagdterrier slightly older than himself when he was wandering into the grove.
They rested together and watched over each other. Over time they became inseparable and
lived in the wild together. They are like brothers and Oliver guards Chester (the jagdterrier)
with his life.

personality
Oliver is loyal and protective. He is a great hunter and can be sarcastic.
Only those who know him know his true side, his soft and gentle side.
To every other dog he is rude and standoffish. He doesn't like dogs
getting close, physically or emotionally. Oliver is hardy and a strong
fighter. He is intelligent, and prefers to use brains over brawn. He
lives well by himself without humans, and with Chester they are well
fed and protected. The two work better together but both could do
fine on their own as well. Oliver hates pack life and leashed dogs
disgust him. He would prefer to be sprayed by a skunk.

background story
Chester stumbled into Oliver when they were puppies. He was
hunting in the grove and hadn't seen or heard the young pup
sneak up. He decided then that he liked this other dog, and
offered to hunt with him. After a long day of hunting they
rested together and after a while they became inseparable.
Now they still hunt together and protect each other.

personality
Chester may be tiny, but he's tough. He never backs down
because he knows he can win. If nothing he can think his
way out of any situations. He often hunts in the grove w/o
Pale Grove Pack noticing anything. He is like a brother to
Oliver and Chester feels the same about Oliver. He would
go to the ends of the earth with that dog, and they make
a good team. Chester keeps to himself when with other
dogs. He does not like depending on other dogs and he
doesn't like them depending on him at all. He and Oliver
are tight knit but also fare well on their owns so their
friendship isn't dependant.

background story
Captain hides his past from everyone. Nobody actually knows where he is from, and he is quick to growl and
nip at anyone who asks. Captain was born in the impassable woods. Nobody dares venture into these parts
because they fear that there are beasts and that the spirits from the great war reside there. Captain was
exiled from the pack that he came from (will RP out why). He wandered in the fields for weeks and then
came to the city, where he was captured quickly. He did not know that there were people in the island,
but he escaped and vowed never to get near one again. He hated people and was a rogue for some time.
He did eventually get a few rogues together together and formed a pack with them (a doberman and a border
collie). But the rogues went back to being rogues when the people vanished and more dogs came to their pack.
The rogues didn't want to be near former leashed dogs. Captain was also hesitant but he needed more dogs to
defend and expand his pack's territory. He does miss his old pack from the impassable woods though. Some
nights he leaves the camp and nobody knows where he goes. He goes to the woods and sits by himself at his old
pack's camp. They all died in the great war. The great war is a story that dogs tell about one big white 'ghost dog'.
This ghost dog protected the pack of the impassable woods, at that point in time just called the woods. One day,
a dog betrayed the ghost dog and his own pack and killed the ghost dog. The story goes on to say that without the
ghost dog, devils cam and they polluted the rivers and chased all of the prey away. The great war is a war between
the pack and the demon dogs. It is said that there were no survivors, and that the spirits of every dog and demon dog is
now trapped in the woods. Supposedly, no dog that has gone in has ever come out, and nobody ever finds them. This
is why it was named the impassable woods. But Captain goes there every night and comes out just fine. He believes
that his ancestors are there so he howls with the woods and when he does, the wind mysteriously picks up and whistles
through the leaves, strongest where Captain sits and mourns.

personality
Captain is very loyal and strong willed. He does not like to talk much, but when he does he inspires
whoever his words reach. Captain is not close to anybody emotionally. Nobody really knows who he
truly is and what he has gone through in his life. Anyone who asks personal questions of him gets
nipped and growled at. Captain can be short with dogs sometimes, but he is a fair leader. He does
care a lot about order and respect though, and will not hesitate to punish dogs who are out of line.

the fact that both his hunting and fighting

purpose to support the pack is to prevent
fighting and help encourage dogs to calm
down. he has no reason to, however whenever
one of his pack mates is being threatened,
bear has a reputation of stepping forward to
defend them.

xxthe feeling repeatedly, until a group of dogs found him and welcomed him to the pack, despite his many weaknesses.

She had pups too once, but they were sold before the humans vanished.
She wonders about them, sometimes.

background story
Piper wasn't always a wild dog, nor did she behave the way she does now. It's whispered, in hushed tones, that she once was a Leashed dog before the humans disappeared. She was a farmer's gun-dog, who ran without a collar through thicket and stream to retrieve the prey her master shot down. She guarded the chickens from foxes, watched the fields for trespassers and sometimes played with the other dog her master owned, a border collie named Flint who was in charge of the sheep.

Things were good back then. But then the humans went, and her master was gone. Piper and Flint guarded the farm for a long time, but no matter how long they waited, the farmer never came back. Their food depleted, Piper did the only thing she knew, and hunted for them. When she couldn't find wild prey, she turned on the chickens. And then the hutch rabbits. Then the farm cats, and the piglets, and a lost calf. Slowly but surely, she became feral.

Eventually, she reached the sheep, and almost every day she took one in secret, knowing Flint would be furious if he knew. And eventually he did. Flint was overcome with rage; all his working life he'd defended his flock from walker's dogs who attacked the sheep, and now the only family he had left had seemingly 'betrayed' him. The loneliness, the hunger and the fear had turned him apparently mad, and this was the final straw. They argued, and then... they fought.

Only one dog left the farm that night, limping slightly but victorious. It was Piper, and she had decided to leave and never come back. She roamed for a year before settling in the Pale Grove, and to this day she stands as the lead female of the pack there. She likes to think she has recovered from the past, but she can't forget that night. She can't forget how she left Flint, in front of the fireplace in that old, dusty house.

And if you ever find that house, you can be sure his bones are still there.

personality
Piper is a survivor, through and through. Her decisions are careful and her actions calculated, everything she does is thought about first. She considers if something is worth doing, knowing failure will mean wasted energy and time, taking her pack a step closer to starvation and death. A lot of her spare time is spent planning the next move for her pack, but that doesn't mean she neglects time for her packmates- she relaxes best in the centre of her pack, giving up her caution for peace and laughter even if it's just for a little while. When pushed, she is ready and willing to fight, and no matter whether it's against a rival pack, another animal or even a pack member challenging her for her rank, she has no problems with killing her opponent. She is not the strongest dog out there, but her intelligence, agility and survival skills keep her above the rest, and she'll waste no time in reminding a disrespectful dog of the power she wields.
