Initially, Nagito comes across as a friendly, mild-mannered
boy with a kindhearted attitude and an optimistic
outlook. He appears to be quite friendly and polite.
However, he also appears to be quite insecure about
himself- calling himself a pessimist and degrading his
own worth while remaining cheerful throughout. In
truth, however, Nagito has a twisted obsession with
hope, considering it to be the "absolute good" and
that anything done in the name of hope is "right"
despite some of those actions being immoral. Those
views lead him to be willing to take extreme actions
just for the sake of hope, and he is often confused
when others do not share his views. He is very out of
touch with his own behavior and the people around him,
resulting in his actions sometimes being socially-
inappropriate. Generally, though, Nagito is quite laid-back,
often seen with a smile on his face. He is also quite calm
about most things due to his experiences, rarely really
showing anger or fear outright. Despite his severe self-
loathing, he is actually an intelligent and logical person.
