despite having a gruff exterior, kibwe deeply cares for his pack. he considers them extended family. it doesn't show very often, but his loyalty goes unquestioned. on most days, some might say kibwe woke up on the wrong side of the anthill, but his businesslike way of dealing with things is just how the canine copes with life on the savanna. unlike some of his packmates, it takes a lot more energy for kibwe to be happy and playful on the daily. he watches the horizon with a critical, somewhat pessimistic eye, usually noting only the bad side of a situation. nothing the kind words and good-hearted company of his beloved leader can't alleviate! it's definitely not something she's aware of, but kibwe has feelings that run a little more on the romantic side for fayola. he finds it easier to be around her, as she knows the importance of anticipating the future.

kibwe was born in a different pack before becoming part of the nailah. his was a large and well established group of wild dogs, but they were wiped out almost completely one dry season, both by the heat and enemy lion pride and hyena clans. the latter of two were responsible for a majority of the deaths, until barely a few wild dogs remained. among them was kibwe's mother, who was still expecting her litter. kibwe was not an only pup, but unfortunately his siblings did not survive the harsh conditions. he was named by his mother after she arrived to the territory of the nailah and was cared for by them, where she ended up giving birth before passing away few days later.

Oringo developed his love for hunting as a pup.
He stalked any creature except those who co-
uld harm him. The success of his hunts were q-
uite low as a pup. But through trial and error
it averaged out as a juvenile. When Oringo l-
learned to pack hunt; he came to love hunti-
ng even more. He left his natal pack at thre-
e to try and join a different pack. Sadly, ev-
ery pack he found invariably rejected him b-
ecause they had enough males. Eventually, h-
e stumbled onto the Nailah pack.

A cackle of Hyenas attacked Bahati's natal pa-
ck to appropriate a Lechwe carcass. Her par-
ents and older siblings were killed trying to pro-
tect them. She took refuge within a large ro-
tten tree. Her littermates scattered, some w-
ere trampled in the chaos, others were kille-
d by Hyenas and the rest were probably eat-
en by lions, leopards or jackals. Eventually, B-
ahati was discovered by a hunter from the
Nailah pack and they became her new family.
