Maybe he would be one of those teachers that are just sitting in their chair looking at the class and just doesn't check homework at all. But nails you at those tests ,but gives a retake anyways if it's not perfect. I mean multiple. In a lazy sort of way xD.

In one of my schools there were two people with the same name (makayla), one was called Makayla and the other was called by her last name, so one Jason could be called by his last names by the teachers, so Wood or Val I guess

Yea, that or just clearing it out by saying the entire names. Either would work depending on their characters. My name alone is a bit common at my school, so I know how that's like xD
