does leo bates have what it takes to be an effective and influential
king? for a long time, his parents thought so. the prince seemed to
be quite the young leader, involved in community service, sitting in
on important meetings, and providing educated commands to their
subjects. he was courting young women in the most respectable
fashion, and all seemed right for the bates lineage. then, when leo
was fifteen, there was an attack on his kingdom. both of his parents
were murdered, and leo barely survived three gunshot wounds to his
back. when he got out of the hospital, he expected to take over the
throne in the absence of his parents. however, he saw that his aunt
and uncle had already taken the throne, claiming he was not yet old
enough, nor mature enough to rule a country. while they may have
been right, he was a little blindsided. worse, he was coerced into
publicly announcing that he'd encouraged his aunt and uncle to take
the throne, just to keep their subjects from rebelling. in order to
keep leo at bay and "prepare" him, he was sent to ivita. while he has
since fully recovered from the physical injuries, leo resents his aunt
and uncle, as well as royalty altogether. two years ago, he actively
made the decision to abandon the royal poise he'd mastered, letting
much too loose. he began attending parties, then throwing them.
moved from the occasional wine to downing scotch and shots. being
caught in unflattering positions by the press, hurting his family name.
sleeping with whatever men and women he so desired. and the worst
part? he enjoys it. at eighteen, leo is now legendary for his parties,
drinks, fights, and attitude.

Nenet Safiyah, 19 years old, is the princess of Egypt and hails from Rosetta. She doesn't enjoy the princess life as much as one might think you should, preferring to spend time in the cities of Egypt with those who she deems 'her people', a group of fast-living, irreverent people who have taken her in as one of their own. Coming to the academy has thrown her for a loop, and as she hasn't always been in the spotlight of a nation anyway, she has no real filter on her words when she isn't in the public eye. Nenet can be harsh and benevolent in equal measure, but she's a very closed-off, witty woman who is unafraid to rip into those who decide she's going to be the butt of their jokes. The princess forms close bonds and takes a while to crack, but values none more than family and her friends. She plays piano, the flute, and ukulele, and can kill at parcheesi. The woman is a wordsmith and likes to write in her spare time, but she has a secret - Nenet isn't interested in any of the princes there, or anywhere, really. lia has never been interested in becoming heir to the throne of greece. the only queen she will ever be in the eyes of her country is the queen of scandal. from age ten when she stole one of her parents private cars or at fifteen when she was found vomiting outside a bar, the press has always been there to catch her every mistake. impulsive should be her middle name, as this princess has even dabbled in illegal substances because "why not?". no she isnt an addict, but she definitely has 'experimented'. not only is she impulsive, but also very brash and unconcerned with how others may feel about her words or how it could effect them. after the incident on national television where she showed up late, hungover, and made several harsh comments about visiting delegate from sweden, the king and queen have never brought lia to any closely televised events again. overall, the girl is a symbol of trouble and misfortune in her country. having three younger siblings, lia has always hoped her parents would just give up on her, because all three of her younger brothers are perfect candidates to ascend the throne, but unfortunately for her, they still have some hope since they decided to send her to ivita. there are many layers to this girl... one of them being she has always had a someone in her life and craves “relationships” to fill a lot of emptiness she has. although most people dont choose to be in her presence shes not a bad friend, even though she doesnt have much experience with real friends, as people befriend her to use her or take advantage of her, but she has a difficult time discerning the real from the not real.
