appearance. elara is a tall young woman, with a lithe build. she has muscled arms and legs, which comes from volleyball. she has fair skin with small freckles that cross over her shoulders and arms. her eyes are a deep blue/gray color and her hair is thick, and pale dusty brown. casually, she'll wear mid-thigh shorts or volleyball shorts, a comfortable t-shirt, and sneakers. she has an affinity for cute things, so generally her shirts will have some kind of cute print on it.

personality. elara is a fairly laid-back student, but is quite hyper. she claims to be studious, but has a strong affinity for only studying for the classes she truly enjoys and not studying for those she could care less for. elara has a strong affinity for breaking small rules, and is probably the reason why her house hasn't won the house cup since she's arrived. she enjoys staying out and reading in the moonlight, and this has gotten her in trouble multiple times. elara's stubborn, and very loyal to her friends. she'd lay her life down for those she cares about (but she'd especially lay her life down for her owl). elara loves cute things, mainly animals, and finds the strangest of things cute-- from snakes to sphynx cats. elara has a short attention span, and she talks as such-- she gets the important details over with, then goes into much mroe detail about what she's taking about. she's very nervous when presenting something, and this has gotten her a few bad grades over the years.
history. elara grew up in a normal muggle town (specifically nacadoches) in the american state of texas. she had an affinity for looking up things having to do with the paranormal, but her parents tried their best to dampen this interest of hers. elara's father was a falconer, and her owl was actually a young chick when she brought him to hogwarts. she was genuinely surprised when she got an acceptance letter from hogwarts, as were her parents. and despite her parent's protests, elara decided to go to hogwarts instead of staying in a normal school. her parents moved with her to britain, where she' be able to get to diagon alley and get what she needed for wizarding school. her parents was a nervous mess around all the wizards, but elara had been extremely eager and curious.
before she had to go off on the hogwarts express, she was given oliver as an early birthday gift from her father. elara would be lying if she said that the little ball of owl fluff was not a nuisance when she first got him. currently, elara plans to work with mythical and magical creatures when she gets older. after she graduates from hogwarts, of course. thanks to her father being a falconer, elara tends to not go with wizard standards of not wearing protective gear when handling birds of prey (talons hurt). but she does like comfort, so she'll try to incorporate the right gear (leather shoulder pads, leather glove, tether, etc) even if it means bending the rules.
