Lamia is the acting queen
of the tribe, a month ago
she snatched the position
for herself with brutality.
since then she has been a
ferocious leader, keeping
a sharp eye on the fellow
mermaids and eliminating
anyone who she sees as a
threat to her reign. Oddly
enough, Lamia has forced
the tribe to act as a unit.

Growing up in the chilling waters of the Tribe, cruelty
was the first thing Lamia learned about this world and
it has since stuck with her. Lamia was a quick learner
as she tended to avoided the mermaids who had swift
tempers and tended to be bullies, instead she started
at the bottom and made her way up to the top. These
days, Lamia is top dog and she is loving it. Most of the
mermaids seek to please her, constantly trying to get
on her good side while the others cower away and try
to avoid earning her attention. There is a handful who
refuse to follow her though, plotting a mutiny against
her in order to gain her position of power. A majority
of the time, Lamia is idle, but with the sudden arrival
of the mortals, she is beginning to become active. The
two-legged creatures have since caught her attention.

alula is quite skinny, though has a nice shape to her body. she has black hair, which she usually wears down or up. her hair is usually curly, or styled with some kelp and jelly. alula is the youngest in the pod of storm, being fourteen she is very naive and often learns from her mistakes. but because alula is scared to make mistakes, she doesn't progress as a mermaid and can't contribute anything to the tribe. with a heavy heart, alula has had to accept and face the fact that she might as well be seal in the pods way then a young and talented mermaid. alula is still a very young child and is almost always seen smiling or laughing at the silliest things. she likes being the young one but at times finds it a curse and a gift, mainly because some of the mermaids don't pay her mind or take her for granted or request her to do the simplest stupidest easiest tasks that alula finds insulting rather than useless.

alula's tail the backside of her tail possess a single vertical plum purple streak down the middle of her tail. copper splotches appear along her thighs and above her knees. a soft strawberry pink appears below the white scales that surround her hips. the scales on the front of alula's tail are pure white with more distinct and intense copper splotches that curve around her thighs to just above her ankles. the fluke of her tail, on both sides, share the three distinct purple plum spots that are asymettric on both side of the fluke. the tip of her fluke on both side is an intense plum dotted with white dots. there are 3 anteni like extensions that sprout above alula's fluke on both sides of the fluke and are visible in the front and back of her tail. alula wears a crystal bra that she fashioned together herself. it shimmers with ever slight movement. while on a swim with vespera, the queen had pointed out the geological structure and helped alula extract the parts to make her own garnment, alula had previously wore a kelp bra which irritated her skin.

alula was born to her mother Selaras (seh-lar-us) who in alula's eyes, was the most beautiful mermaid and her idol. alula looked up to selaras with blind love, a tragic mistake. at the age of 6, alula's scales began to transform in the sunlight into an elegant pattern that happened to attract sharks and predatory creatures from the seven seas. fearful that alula could do nothing to prevent this, selaras was at loss of how to protect her daughter. selaras trusted the humans after Talbot, and traded some of her scales with them in order to protect alula until her scales fully developed. but as it was, the humans were vile cruel individuals who caused alula more pain then selaras expected. selaras would plead with her daughter in tears, convince alula that the boat where she was subject to pain at the hands of a human was safer than the mysterious depths where her mother fought of sharks of many sizes. when things at at their worst, selaras rescued her daughter but the damage had already been done.

selaras who had cupped alula's face in her hands reminded alula of how beautiful, strong and incredible resilant she was. unforunatly this precious moment would not last, for a sharp murderous tailored item was shot into the water. a harpoon. it struck selaras just at her lower back, paralyzing her. alula was traumatized after her mother was slowly being pulled back to the boat, but was not strong enough to fight the current pulling her into the water. she blacked out and never saw her mother again. the pod found her and inducted her at the age of 7 and she has been with them ever since. she misses her mother dearly but is lucky to have found a guardian ; vespera. human's are a deep emotional trigger to alula.

alula has developed an artistic side that most mermaids lack. she channels her naive and creative mind into rock art she carves onto the walls of caves, in boulders beneath the ocean and even wrecked ships. often the images depict a woman with her eyes shut, hands crossed along her chest, and hair expanding around her head.

Avalda (ah-vald-ah) Johannson :: 21 :: Male
Avalda johannson is a pirate, a theif, a renegade. Found trying to steal from the one of the other clans after attempting to rise a mutiny against the chief, he was lost to sea and wound up in mermaid territory. He is a spiteful man with a handsome face and strong facial features. Dark eyes and a glare that appears to penetrate the eyes that meet them, avalda is no man to have a real quarry with. While he is secretive to those around him, he doesn't truly fancy his brother Elias. Avalda however is not competitive by nature but is honorable to do unhonorable things. He tricks others, uses them to his own advantage and will strike a blow to injure but not kill. Avalda will always keep you in the dark if he offers you or requests your assistance. Avalda is not religious man but he finds himself more evolved than anyone. He has a higher enlightened state of mind. The mermaids ; are not of his concern. However as a sailor he has met seen and observed them and cataloged their movements. He plans on approaching them to help his own vendetta against the people who marooned him. Avalda claims when marooned on he island of the dead, that the men basically murdered him. [

told by her mother, jupiter was named after a planet. where's the originality in that? her mother told her that she was born to a sailor and a mermaid. jupiter wants to meet her father and has been told he is dead so she feels she is missing something important in life and it causes her to rebel against others. to avoid a conversation with her elders, jupiter could fake a heart attack and sink down to the ocean floor vertically. jupiter is what you call finicky and unpredictable. she is quite the trickster, loving to make people miserable, but also while her pretty face may show a smile, often her face posses a blank expression. there's nothing more satisfying to jupiter than being around mermaids and treating them as though they are human. while she has a kind side, it rarely ever shows through brightly. sarcasm is her weapon. tail bra keep pretty shells, crystals and coral away from this mermaid. anything that others find pretty, she won't hesitate to destroy. stupid, jupiter will fall in love with a human male who will try to kill her and accidentally she will kill him and be traumatized by the event. jupiter suffers from an intense bipolar personality that makes her a trigger happy mermaid to be around. jupiter will defend her honor and is known to lie and manipulate others, but only when she is in the mood. people have to put up with jupiter in order to have her in their company. jupiter flaunts her beauty recklessly that it tends to make other mermaids jealous of her and she truly loves to do it.

this fierce red lipped beauty's tail possess wavy copper rippled lines that resemble the distrubed surface of waves appears on the forewing and hindwing around her thighs. there are four fins on her tail, they resemble that of a butterfly wing, possessing the larger forewing and smaller hindwing. the pattern on her large forewing is translated onto the small hindwing in a lesser scale. down the length of her tail, her scales are a very light shimmering sea green. the tip of her fluke is a strong copper that fades into the light sea green among the remaining scales of her tail.

jupiter's lips are rarely ever seen bare of the intense red jelly she applies from crushed coral mixed with jelly fish jelly.

phenoix is a mermaid who was found abandoned after the storm. she doesn't have any memory before the age of nine. she was young around the age of nine when she was found by the first queen and inducted to the pod. pheonix regards her sisters as wise, caring, valauble, reliable and powerful. never has pheonix been seen to speak back but she has a history of trauma regarding strong currents and storms. fearing abandonment, she is a little clingy and tends to avoid the shallows. however, she gets cold easily with poor blood flow and relies on the surface of the water to remain warm and in good health. she's a pretty face to look at and could easily pass off for a high price at the fishers market if ever captured in a net. rather than use her tail to aid her if ever captured, her panick would override her flight response and mute her fight response as well. she's a fast swimmer but doesn't quite have the lungs to allow her to swim great distances. if she were a human she'd be a sprinter.
phenoix posses a crimson tail, darker crimson raised spine along the bcak of her tail which has golden fluke with deep shinning purple veins and the tip of her fluke is bright copper. tail

nova is partially quiet. she is not fond of drawing the queen or princess' attention. nova would regret not kissing another mermaid. she doesn't really know what affection is but observes it in the pod. nova admires the way mermaids swim, the elegance in their tail strokes and the flexibility of their body. nova is a young mermaid and sometimes she has trouble swimming because of her tail. she doesn't really like being a mermaid because their as so many limited things she can do but she fears being a human. nova loves to take her fellow sisters to see the dolphins and to swim to a lagoon near by. nothing is more amazing then racing with nova, she enjoys the thrill of the chase. secretly nova fears legs and stays clear of them. she has nightmares that she will become a human and will never be able to return to the sea. this fear causes her to stay clear of man. tail

raimora is a long distance swimmer mermaid, preferring to be alone but seeks companionship. she's attracted to rosalie but hasn't said anything to her. raimora is quite a sweetheart from a far, she draws you near with the innocent glimmer in her attractive ocean blue eyes. once penetrating her attractive barrier, mermaids come to accept raimora as an individual thinker and do-er. she seeks intelligence and humor in a companion and finds the humans just a thing around the cove. she's not drawn to them or afraid of them. she finds them humorous. once ramiora has discovered the person who is worthy of her loyalty, it can break raimora's heart if she is ever forced to leave them. raimora is terrfied of storms and panicks, swimming everywhere trying to avoid the crashing waves. raimora is currently captured by the clan'smen s in one of the fishermen's net. she can only hope and pray that someone or some mermaid will find her. raimora's tail is unique and like no one else's it has yellow extensions all around her legs, smiliar to the body of a leafy seahorse. tail
