abilities. cassian has a great amount of strength, most of what comes with being illyrian. he is able to create things out of thin air, but it will usually be in a shade of red. most illyrians need one siphon to control their power, but cassian and one of his friends require seven siphons. though this isn't an all-the-time kind of thing. usually he's only wearing two on his leather gauntlets. cassian also has large bat-like wings that he can fly around with. cassian would rather die than see the wings get ripped off.

appearance. cassian is tall, with broad shoulders and a muscular body. he has a tattoo that spreads from his chest, and and goes down onto his arms in intricate designs. he had a dark golden skin, and hazel eyes. he has wavy dark brown (close to black) hair that brushes to his shoulders. cassian has round ears, and a kind face that can turn very serious when needed.

personality. cassian is a arrogant, cocky loud-mouth. he's very fun-lving, and loves to get under other's skins. though it's hard to get under his own skin, as he masks himself with his usual fun-loving personality. he tends to make silly, useless, jokes that make no sense and is very loyal. he is defensive of those who can't defend themselves, and is very defensive of those close to him. the bat winged man brushes off things easily, and is in general a very laid-back person. though he loves a good tussle, and will do his best to defeat one in battle.
history.

cassian is the bastard son of an illyrian war-camp laundress and an unknown warrior. as soon as he could walk, he was left in a distant war-camp for training. as a bastard, he received nothing and had to find his own shelter, food and clothes. cassian resorted to challenging other kids to fight and got their clothes as a prize.

when rhysand was taken to the same camp for training, cassian fought him for his new clean clothes, costing them three lashings each, which was considered an encouragement to keep fighting by illyrian standards.

that night, when rhysand went back home with his mother, he saw cassian walking through the mud to get to tents outside the camp. rhysand did not take it well, understanding what really meant to be taken care of, and woke cassian in the middle of the night to take him to his house. rhysand's mother took cassian in and provided him with home and shelter from then on. however, rhysand and cassian hated each other until azriel arrived at camp and they understood they were the strongest members in the war-camp, which meant they had better chances of surviving if they stayed together, hence starting their longtime friendship.

during the war, when rhysand's father saw that his son had allied with the two most powerful illyrian warriors in history (cassian & azriel), fearing the three warriors will turn against him and rival him in power, he separated them. rhysand was given command over a legion, azriel was kept as a shadowsinger in his court and cassian was appointed as a foot soldier.

although for an illyrian bastard, he was expected to be a bottom-ranked soldier forever, cassian's strength and power took him to the top of the ranks as a general commander of the court of night's armies and into rhysand's inner circle, once rhysand became the high lord of the night court.

extras. i was thinking of toning down his power a bit, especially since he doesn't have all seven siphons.

✦ A gem that's thousands of years old

✦ Personality -- Pearl is a very strict, tidy, and motherly figure. Since the very purpose of her existence was to serve and defend, she has a protective and reflexive personality to go well with it. She cares little for herself and mostly focuses on those she deems worthy of her trust, which is a bit of a hard thing to gain from her. She's pretty skeptical towards most anything unusual, and has a bit of initial judgement towards those things as well. She can be brutally honest most of the time and shows little fear of speaking her mind unless in the presence of a higher power. Pearl gains a bit of comfort from having someone to protect, since she's so used to having Steven under her care. It also fulfills her purpose, even if she abandoned Homeworld and the ways of typical pearls. So if you happen to ally up with her, you'll most likely be in safe hands. Fiercely loyal to those who've made friends with her, she'll go to extensive lengths just to keep them safe or make them happy. Although, nobody will be able to replace Steven. Because she lived with a human being, she obviously knows about Earth way more than most other gems. Basic household appliances she'll know, as well as a few other things Steven taught her.

✦ Abilities -- Pearl is a very skilled fighter. Her athleticism and grace prove to be a real threat. She's pretty agile and has a lot of endurance, just like any other pearl. Although she has the potential to be an annoying moving target, she mostly prefers to stay directly in front or behind a foe from a slight distance to dish out as much offensive damage as possible. That, and to better observe and size one up. Since she is a gem built to help conquer other planets, her body naturally adapts to different fields of gravity and pressures. Because her gem is located on her head, she has the unique ability to project her thoughts or memories in the form of a hologram. She can also "bubble" objects as well, storing them in her gem for safekeeping should the need arise.

As for her durability, she is pretty safe physically. She doesn't have to worry about aging, either. But, it is possible for her to take too many blows. If her physical body is damaged too much, she will "poof" and disappear into her pearl to recover. Depending on the injury, it can take hours or days to fully regenerate. A main weak spot she has is the pearl itself. If it gets cracked or shattered, then that is the gem's equivalent to death. Pearl doesn't have to worry about catching illnesses, and it takes a whole lot for her to get sick. However, this "Savage" disease affects just about everyone of any species, including her. She won't be immune to it like she is most other ailments.

✦ Weapons -- She can store many things in her gem, one of which being a spear as seen to the left. It is mostly used to stab or block attacks, but it can also be used to shoot projectiles from a distance as well.

✦ Other -- Sorry if this is a bit too cartoony or strange for the setting. Let me know if things should be toned down a notch when it comes to her abilities.
