hello! this is the discussion thread for overgrowth! it's a multifandom roleplay which is quite a bit like the hunger games. all character forms and ooc-only posts belong on this thread. the usual rules apply - don't be rude to others, try to stay on topic, etc!

Exie is the mysterious mastermind of Dusthaven. Not much is known about her other than the information she leaves in notes and the rare broadcast over the only radio station available in the city.

The impression one gets of her is as a petulant and impulsive individual who adores having the kind of power she does. Exie tends to act more like the director of a reality TV show than the supreme dictator of an abandoned city, encouraging those trapped in Dusthaven to do things like 'ramp up the drama' despite the gravity of their situation. She frequently mentions how 'boring' it is in Dusthaven without any other people around, but that notion seems to carry some very dark undertones. Thus far Exie seems quite nihilistic in her views, not caring about anything (even the rules of her own game) other than amusing herself.

Having been on her own for quite a long time, Princess initially comes off as rather eccentric and awkward. She's very talkative and outgoing, as well as excitable, and often rambles on quite a bit - though having been alone for so long may also have contributed to this desire to talk on and on. She also certainly has a sense of humor, though it's not always entirely welcome or done in the best of taste. Though she's a bit reluctant to trust people at first, she's eager to get along with others instead of staying isolated, and longs for some sustained interaction. Because of this, she is surprisingly quite friendly, and abnormally peppy and energetic for the bleakness of her situation. In fact, her friendliness may seem downright abrasive at first, especially being as much of a chatterbox as she is. Being alone has also left her quite free-spirited, relishing in her unrestricted life for better or for worse. Because of her oddly lighthearted behavior, she may even appear somewhat ditzy on the surface - though when provoked, Princess is very quick to leap into action and protect herself, be it against the living or the dead.

He came here wearing the Comedian's outift - a mostly black, armored ensemble, including guards on his shoulders, elbows, and knees. His mask is black and has loosely diamond-shaped eyepieces, and is adhered to his face. He also wears a pair of fingerless gloves with prominent metal ridges on the knuckles. He has a small handgun in a holster at his hip, but was not fortunate enough to be brought here with any greater firepower.

"The Comedian" may seem like a misnomer for the carelessly cruel, deeply cynical individual who wears it, but in fact, it is perhaps the most apt title that can be given to him. On the surface, he often seems like a simple hard-headed thug, but there is a surprising amount of grim philosophy behind his behavior. He has a peculiar outlook on life, generally seeing everything as a 'joke' and therefore often appearing chillingly nihilistic for a supposed hero. He is well-acquainted with the selfish and hedonistic instincts of humanity; he harbors no care for others or their behavior because he sees humanity as self-serving and circular-thinking at its core, and ultimately expects people to act only for themselves. This also leads him to care very little about his own actions, rather embracing his own connection to humanity's savage nature and becoming, in a way, a twisted parody of it. He is little but amused at others' attempts to distance themselves from this, and even pegs other masked heroes as petty and naive. Though his judgmental nature is often quite harsh towards others, there is also an unwanted truth to many of his statements, and he is known for voicing that which other people would rather deny. He is violent, arrogant, and callous, and outwardly appears to harbor no guilt over his own actions. Despite that, he does not act as though he is unaware that his actions are morally repugnant. Rather, it just seems to be that he doesn't care. It's not surprising that his aggressive behavior has left him distanced from others and almost exclusively solitary. He also acts as though he doesn't mind this, but has a slightly harder time of it, occasionally giving a glimpse of what appears to be a profound loneliness within him. That undertone of lonesomeness is perhaps the greatest of all his jokes, as it's never strong enough to leave one certain of its existence.

sneaky, cunning and childish lucifer is the kind of guy who prefers to surf the internet and play games rather than help his friends. due to his attitude, everyone tends to treat him lightly and pay no mind to many of his protests at being excluded from things. he has also self-proclaimed himself as socially awkward and has a short temper causing him to yell at others. he is, to an extent, lazy, hardly even looking away from his computer to acknowledge others. however, it seems he has hidden feelings beneath his seemingly irresponsible and carefree attitude. he shows his serious side from time to time.

on earth, his powers are limited, and has to feed off the negative emotions of humans in the surroundings to regain his powers. lucifer can summon black wings to fly at great speed. they seem to only manifest when he has harnessed enough power from negative emotions. lucifer Is also able to fire purple colored projectiles that can either pierce or explode upon its contact.

in human form, lucifer appears as a short, skinny boy in his late teens. he has fair skin and floppy, dark purple hair that is longer than average, with a long fringe and several strands that reach just past his shoulders. his eyes are violet. he is usually seen wearing a casual, white, short sleeved top with light purple sleeves along with black trousers that are rolled up at the bottom, along with a pair of blue and white converses. when he regains his powers, lucifer gains a pair of black, feathery wings.

what came with them :: pixelsprite, a corporeal undead ghost-looking thing that contains the data, memories
and basic appearance of nova's dead horse, pixel, and a jackalope stuffed toy. can be summoned by nova from a
sprite pendant to act as a guide throughout the game. since they're not, well, in the game per se and were taken
out of their universe, pixelsprite is nothing more than a summonable flying mount and a useful companion
other :: holding things are for wimps, so are backpacks. why bother with both when you have a fancy fetch
modus to hold your stuff for you! a fetch modus allows a person to store an item in a captchalogue card (is said
captchalogue card tangible??? is it as untouchable to a player as, say, a health bar in a game??? or both??? nobody
knows) for any period of time, and simply called back again according to the specifications of your particular
fetch modus. nova's fetch modus, specifically, is called the twerk modus, and, yep, you heard it. you gotta
twerk to get back what you want from your modus. the bigger the item, the longer and harder you have to twerk.
might/might not have a jet plane or an entire building stored somewhere there so if she starts twerking for more
than 10 minutes it's not a good sign. has 6 sylladex slots for storage.
the kind of weapons nova can wield offensively depends on what strife deck she currently has equipped at her
strife specibus. a person can have more than one strife deck, where they will store the extra decks in a strife
portfolio. nova's primary strife specibus is batkind, though she has bootkind and pistolkind (taken from sis) in her
portfolio as well. the twerk modus is not required to retrieve weapons for use.
as a blood aspect player, nova's aspect centers on the abstract of friendship, unity and bonding, as in the term
"blood brothers." as a rogue of blood, her god-tier, she passively 'steals' bonds and alliances between individuals
and redistributes it to people around her. although she's never actually ascended to god-tier before she was
placed in this "edgy-loking forest thign" this last paragraph is completely irrelevant and, thankfully, she will not
steal princess prim's relationship with sci and ruin primin' for the sake of everybody getting an equal share of
group bonding :") tldr just ignore this last paragraph

history :: before the start of sburb, nova lived in a semi-suburban apartment somewhere in texas with an
equine taxidermy of pixel and her older sis as her guardian, with whom she shared an inexplicable shared
obsession with tv shows and horses. currently, nova was in an alternate universe called the medium with her
internet friends: cade burgess (bohemianGamin), ryan knowles (undyingAuxiliatrix), kane savage
(gallowsTestified), kael brennan (arsenicArmageddons) and mila brennan (twinTherapist) with whom she was
playing the game with, having triggered a meteor shower that wiped out all life on earth and prompted
them to leave their universe and continue the game, in the hopes of achieving the Ultimate Reward upon
completion of sburb: the creation of a new universe, in which they will rule and inhabit as its gods
