Regions of Hyrule
Central Hyrule
A broad grassy plain littered with ruins and pathways. This is the resting place of Hyrule Castle and Castle Town. Travelers are constantly wary of this region due to an abundance of Guardians crawling everywhere as well as the sight of the Calamity lurking around the castle.
Akkala
A region graced with scarlet leaves year round, as if the land itself is frozen in time. The place is well known for the Akkala Citadel ruins, a place where it is said that Hyrule truly died when it fell to a force of possessed Guardians a century ago.
Eldin
Home to Death Mountain, the majority of the region is filled with lava and as such, travelers must have some means of warding off the heat: the air is so hot that anyone-save the Gorons-would immediately spontaneously combust upon entering. Despite this, the lava falls are truly a sight to behold. Rumour has that the Gorons' diet consists of nothing but rocks...
Lanayru
A wetland that is watched over the Zora, the land remains unfettered by Zora and Hylian influence aside from dams, bridges and the Domain itself. Many people travel to the Domain to see the architecture of the Zora. The Zora make great use out of luminous stones, which supposedly gives the structure it's glow.
Necluda
A region with varying terrain, ranging from mountains, forests and plains. This region also contains Hateno Village and Kakariko Village, two settlements that eluded the destruction a century ago. It's said the elder of Kakariko Village is well over a century old, but almost no one who is not a resident of the village can meet with her.
Faron
Known for warm weather and lush vegetation, this region is a popular vacation spot for many races. The primary settlement here is Lurelin Village, and many make their living by the sea, mainly fishing. It is said a dragon often visits this region.
Gerudo
A stark contrast to the rest of Hyrule, Gerudo consists of nothing more than an unforgiving wasteland. Despite this, the Gerudo people thrive in such a place. The major settlement is Gerudo Town, well known for it's "No voe allowed" policy, a rule which the border guards enforce with the tips of their spears, leaving men everywhere scratching their heads on how to get in.
Hebra
No doubt the coldest region in Hyrule, this region has many mountains. Home to the Rito people, their village is unlike any other. It is built in a spiral around a tall pillar, which coincidentally resembles a bird's head. While Rito Village relatively warm, if one were to climb the pillar it would soon become unbearably cold.
