Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Nicknames: Chi, if you must
Position: Left Lead Dog

The name's Comanche, and it would serve you well to call me that. I don't appreciate nicknames, derogatory or otherwise. Comanche is a family name and I will do my parents right by living up to the name. Although this may be my first Iditarod you can rest assure I was trained by the best. It's no secret why Team Zrikle came in second last year, Old Chief was past his prime and he had no business leading the team. I will lead us to a victory, if you can't keep up with my pace then step it up or step down. I will not tolerate slackers, whiners, or those who aren't team players. I'm not your mother, I'm your leader.

Strengths: Athletic, Quick Witted, Ambitious
Weaknesses: Impulsive, Callous, Inexperienced
Adores: Running, Coursing, Tussling
Abhors: Disrespect, Slackers, Selfishness

Some might call Comanche rude and demeaning but in truth she just likes things done her way. This may be her first Iditarod but you'd never know it, Chi has an air of confidence about her that tends to be contagious, if there's one thing she believes in it's her ability to triumph over just about any issue she faces. She has a tendency to hold everyone to the same impossibly high standard and doesn't fully grasp that every dog has their own pace. Chi usually goes all in with everything in her life, she puts her all into everything she does, tackling obstacles with a fierce intensity, she's been known to get tunnel vision when she comes across a task she must finish.

┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

Comanche has been with musher Ally Zirkle for as long as she can remember, She used to watch her mother and father race for Ally. One might say she took after her father, he was a lead dog alongside Old Chief, although he retired before she was able to race with him due to a career ending accident. Her first race she was a swing dog, right beside her mother, that first race was the worst. They were running in whiteout conditions but she knew it was worth it when they crossed the finish line for that victory. After her third or fourth race Ally noticed her desire to be a lead dog, and she indulged her, allowing her to train with Old Chief. When her first Iditarod came around she was too young to be a part of it. She stayed behind and waited for them to return. It was only after they finished that she heard about the rather embarrassing mishap that cost them first place. Old Chief wasn't called Old for nothing, he was far to old to be racing but Ally, being the kind hearted human she is, allowed him this one last go. On the last leg of the race Old Chief got turned around, heading in the wrong direction for at least 20 miles refusing to admit he made a mistake. By the time they got back on track there was no hope for first place. So Comanche got her chance to prove herself, she knows that this race will be no walk in the park but Chi is confidant that her team can snag this victory with little to no hiccups along the way.

Gender: Male
Position: Right Wheel Dog

A name? I've had many, most everybody calls me Desoto now or Dee if we are close. I've been told I'm not too bright, but that doesn't bother me much. As long as I get to do what I love I don't really mind what else happens. I'll be honest I'm still a pup at heart, I love a good romp and it's hard for me to focus for a long period of time. My owner says I have "potential" and took a gamble putting me as the wheel but I've promised myself I won't let her or my team down. I'm the comic relief as they say, when things get rough or dull out on the trail I'll be the one to toss a few jokes around to brighten up the mood. If I've learned anything in my years it's that you can't take life too seriously. Gotta go with the flow.

Strengths: Compassionate, Goofy, Reliable
Weaknesses: Childlike, Short-Tempered, Heavy-Pawed
Adores: A good laugh, Helping others
Abhors: Debbie Downers, Insensitiveness, Ruffians

This malamute's hulking frame attracts some gawkers, even more so when he's hooked up to the sled. Although he doesn't look it he can indeed run, you don't need to worry about Desi when he's on the trail, He can keep up. His soft brown eyes tend to get him whatever he wants, and he has no shame in using them. his friendly features mimic Desi's personality, he tends to make sure the others are okay when racing. He is good at reading other dogs, especially when they are trying not to let on how much they need a break, he has no problem stepping up and asking the leads for one. He knows that it's essential that they communicate with the leads and musher as they are focused on the trail ahead and don't always have time to check on the others. His motto is 'A healthy team is a successful team'.

┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┓

┗━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┛

Desoto's had many homes in his 6 years on this Earth. As a pup he was rowdy and unruly, always wanting to play, never taking anything seriously. To most mushers that made him untrainable, a house pet, no working dog would ever carry themselves the way he does. Desi lived with a nice family for the first year of his life, they called him Harvey. It was nice but he never really felt content there. When they moved he was dumped off at your generic run-of-the-mill sled dog training facility. It wasn't until he was almost 3 years old that he was picked up by a musher (John was his name) and made into a proper sled dog. John understood Desoto's personality and modified his training methods, John made Desi see racing as a way to release that pent up energy he had. He made racing fun. One could imagine his pain when John retired and sold Desoto. That's when Ally and her team took him in. At that time Old Chief and Brutus were the lead dogs and they ran a tight ship. Ally gave him the name Desoto though most of his teammates called him 'Dee'. If he had a bone for every scolding he received from the leads Desoto would have enough to fill a ravine. He's the first to admit he is a pup at heart but make no mistake he (usually) knows when to get serious. Last year's Iditarod was awful. He had never been so embarrassed in his life. It goes without saying that he's hoping this year will be much different than the last. Brutus' pup Comanche has taken the Chief's spot, and it seems that this year they have a winning team.

The extra thick coat with deep chocolate eyes. Takaani's fur colors range from the dark and smoky black to the faded off-white cream. She has typical markings of the malamute type, but with the dark line down her muzzle that fades to a softer grey underneath her eyes in a type of mask. Her coat is extremely thick and excellent for keeping out the cold in her line of work. Her build in on the sturdier side, not quite lean but not completely blocky either. Hers is a body built more on the side for strength and power than agility, but make no mistakes because she can go just as fast as the dogs half her size.

ιи ∂єρтн
    ρєяsσиαℓιтч:
Takaani is hard-working and loyal, bound and determined to do whatever she has set in her mind to do or die trying. She absolutely loves her work and takes a no-nonsense approach to things, work needs to be completed before there is time to be idle and play. However, she does have a good sense of humor and enjoys brightening anyone's day, even when she can't brighten her own. She's a bit stubborn and does not bend easily, she marches to the beat of her own drum and is reluctant to follow directions or orders from anyone else. She has a bit of an issue with trusting new dogs, so it may take a while before you get to see the softer side of her. She does have a good heart and won't hesitate to help a friend in need. Regardless if she trusts them or if they trust her, she would protect her teammates with her life and always thinks of them before herself.

    нιsтσяч:
" Some things are better left unsaid and unknown, but I suppose if you really want to know I'll tell you my story. I was born into the life of sledding, it was in my blood as well as it was in my siblings and parents as well. My parents belonged to a man named Scott Branson, who had won several races and owned several titles and awards for his team, and my parents were a part of that team. From the first day I was able to run I loved it. The feel of the wind in my fur, the snow crunching beneath my feet, the endless drive and energy that seemed to overtake me with each step I made. Because of my love for the work the human began training me in the ways of the sled dog, but his methods were not the most ethical or humane.
Hours upon hours of endless work with no breaks often led me and the other dogs in training too exhausted to move. If one of us stopped or lay down, we were whipped and beaten, sometimes all of us and not just the one who had stopped, until we were moving again. Countless times I remember dropping to the ground on the occasions we were allowed to rest with my feet bloody and my body feeling crumpled and broken down. I suffered in silence along with the others, for any complaining or whining was considered cowardly and disloyal to our human. I often wondered if what this human did to us really deserved our loyalty, if this is what it meant to be loyal to someone, working yourself nearly to death to please your master only to receive cold looks and beatings in return.
Because of the abuse I had suffered, my love for the work had nearly burned completely out. I'd run through the paces but my heart wasn't in it, but I still tried my best. Scott noticed this and for my lack of ambition chose to be rid of me, for he deemed me worthless and not good enough to amount to anything in his eyes. My heart was broken and my world came crashing down. The human I had put so much effort into trying to please, that I had run to the point of my feet bleeding and my body nearly giving out, to just be cast aside. Needless to say, I was utterly devastated. But my life turned around for the better when she came along.
Ally was the woman's name. Apparently some of her previous team had been retired and she was looking for more experienced and hard-working dogs to add to her team. She chose me and after an exchange of the papers the humans called 'money' I was on my way to a new life.
At first I felt completely unsure of this new human and expected her to be no different than my previous one, but I was pleasantly surprised. She did not beat her dogs into submission, they worked together as a team and one unit. I was amazed. The spark that had become so dim was now set ablaze once again. I was eager and more than willing to step into that harness and run with everything I had again. I had spent time previously in each spot on the team line, and I had found the Lead was more my area where I was happiest. I'm a bit surprised I was put as a wheel dog, but given that the leads are dogs that have been on this team far longer than I have, I guess it's not too much of a shock. I can do the job of a wheel dog just as well anyway, so I'm content with it for the time being. I'm not too sure of what to make of my new team just yet, so I suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens."

personality:
biography:
once a sled dog, always a sled dog. tobias was born into the
industry with a very strict team as he aged. though in no way
cruel, the tightness of his team has caused him to hide his
emotions to keep a committed and working demeanour.
when he was three the sled dogs dismantled in favour
of a stronger group, placing tobias into the adoptive
system. ally zirkle eventually saved him from constantly
changing homes, but he has experienced so many that a part
of him still believes he will be sent back there eventually.

sarcastic / cold / soft hearted
tobias is an interesting character. he is often seen as unkind
or frozen hearted, and seemingly doesn't care for others.
the truth is different, however, as he secretly enjoys
the company of others and can find himself becoming
very lonely due to his untrusting nature. when he does
become close to someone he displays his affection with
small actions; picking flowers that his companions
like or snapping at other dogs that hurt or annoy them.
is hard exterior may not change, but if you look close
enough the softness in his eyes says it all.

Ice Ice Baby, its not a hobby its an addiction
"I'm not bossy. I have leadership skills, Understand the difference."

5 years |Female |Husky x Greenland Mix |Left Team Dog

Height:20 Inches
Weight: 40 Pounds
Appearance:
Small in frame, with toned muscles. Her eyes are an amber color. The coat that she sports is considered a piebald with all the color being around her head. She had an irregular face marking that portrays browns and greys with flecks of black hairs here and there. The rest of her coat is white, but not as white as the snow.

Personality:
Positive, Driven, Team Player, Observant, Logical, Sarcastic, Natural Leader
You could consider her the team therapist "Come here child, sit down and tell me about whats bothering you." She is full of life and tries to find the best in every situation no matter the circumstances. Often times if someone is reacting negatively she will scold them. Olwen is a rish taker and will more than certainly put her life on the line for the team. She firmly believes that everyone should be treated equally. And that one must earn their respect and authority.

History:
As a young pup, Olwen was always the fastest of her litter mates but she never had much bone to her. Always being small in frame as well as size which her breeder despised. He preferred the bulky dogs with thick coats and proud heads which Olwen lacked. So was sold to a kennel that bred running Sepplas. With these sepplas Olwen's training began. She wasn't strong enough to be a wheel dog, and couldn't get along with the swing dog, so it was found that Olwen ran best as a team dog but also knew the mushing commands so she could be swapped out with the lead dog. Olwen ran with the seppla team for two years, where she was forced to build
endurance as well as find mental stability. Olwen hopes that with this new team
something fantastic can happen.

Born in the wilds of Alaska, there wasn't much
hope for young Faraday, as the cold was sure to
seize any young creature caught in its grasp,
even with a mother to protect him. Luckily, he
was discovered by a young sledder with a team
of hodgepodge dogs and was nursed back to
health. He was taught the basics, but the young
man something saw greater in the dog he'd
found. He was sold to Ms. Zirkle four years ago
and has come a long way. His strong survival
instincts take over when sledding, and he
refuses to take any unnecessary risks, even
under direct command from a lead dog.
