Chase was originally named Raven. She was born to a rogue she-wolf who had been exiled wrongly, after being framed for the murder of their healer. Her mother lost everything the day she was framed, the pack, her home, even her mate, who had once loved her unconditionally, turned his back on her and his unborn pups. When the time came for the rogue she-wolf to become a mother she knew deep down that she wouldn't be able to care for her pups, and that she wouldn't be able to give them the life she knew they deserved. It broke her heart but in the end she abandoned chase and her siblings by the border of a nearby pack - hoping they would take them in - which luckily, they did. Raven was now renamed Chase and her two bothers named Aspen and Grey. They trio grew up not knowing why the had been abanonded and they all longed to have their mother back but they didn't exactly have a hard life in their new pack. They were treated as if they where the packs own, they weren't favoured but they weren't disliked either.
Life in the new pack had been pretty uneventful for the first year, Chase took a liking to the warriors of the pack - one day hoping to become one of them. She would spend her free time watching them, always taking up offers on a couple of lessons here and there if the older wolves were feeling generous. Grey took a personal liking to hunting, being stealthy and agile on his feet it soon became his personal strongpoint. Then there was Aspen, he had always been the more 'chilled' of the trio, he loved his brother and sister dearly but he soon turned to learning how to become a 'healer' or what the pack referred to as a shaman.
Then came the day that would forever be to blame for 'breaking Chase'. The day of the killing. Hunters had tracked the pack down, and had spent weeks planning an ambush on the pack. The beta had been the first to be shot, causing the pack to go into chaos. Pack members ran in all directions, not knowing what to do in a scenario like this. Chase had stayed close to the limp beta though, her mournful whimpering as she tried to nudge the wolf who had been her father figure, refusing to believe he was dead, and refusing leave his side. She would too have been shot if it hadn't been for the alpha who had dragged her away from the body and forced her to run.
The alpha had managed to herd the remaining of his pack back into one group and led them down towards the frozen river, not knowing of the ambush that awaited. Many pack members were shot almost spontaneously. Chase had managed to weave her way in and out of various hunters, warriors, even an elder who had survived the first attack before she was caught staring at the barell of a gun from across the river. The hunter had it raised and was ready to fire but Chase couldn't move, she was almost in a trance. You know the saying 'deer in the headlights?' Well that what Chase currently felt like. Her gaze flickered to his finger as he pulled down the trigger and the shot sounded, though she felt no pain. As a flurry of pale grey fur stained with red fell onto the floor she immediately recognised the now lifeless face, Aspen. Her bother had literally taken a bullet for her, all because she had frozen. If she had run then Aspen would still be alive.
Chase couldn't look for long though as the sudden sound of ice cracking allowed her no time to prepare and she was immediately submerged. The ice had gave way from under her and Aspen's combined weight and she was dragged under. Her claws desperately gripped at the sheet of solid eyes above her as she tried to resurface but she lost any footing she managed to get and was now at the mercy of Mother Nature herself.
Before she could fully black she was back at the surface, gasping for air. A quick glance told her that she had been dragged so far down the river that she was now at the point where it turned into the rapids, the water moving so fast and ferociously that ice had no chance to form. Her body was bashed against various rocks as she cascaded down the river, rendering her unconscious.
For the second time that day she was back up and gasping for air, though this time she wasnt in the merciless rapids. Mud and water clinged to her fur as the she wolf lay still, her body battered and bruised from her journey down the river. A few strangled sobs escaped her as the events of what had happened replayed in her mind and she laid there for hours, trying to regain some sort of strength. As much as she wanted to just lie down and let the darkness overcome her, she was not about to allow Aspen's sacrifice be in vain.
After countless hours just spent laying there, inhaling and exhaling over and over again she forced her shaky legs to stand, she struggled to put weight on her front left ankle but that wasn't going to stop her. Once she had braced herself of three out of four legs, she slowly but surely started limping away from the river, vowing to never return to that horrible place, and to never freeze in the face of danger again.
Weeks later and Chase's leg had healed enough for her to comfortably put weight on it and run on it, allowing her to move faster away from the place she called 'home' and hunt enough for her to survive. This was the start of a new life, she would find a pack, become a knight, a warrior, a fighter or whatever they would call it and start again, not allowing her past to haunt her anymore. Though, despite that, one thing she still hasn't gotten over from that day, her fear of water.

Chase tends to keep to herself a lot. She doesn't want to burden others with her feelings and emotions so instead tends to bottle them up inside of her which can sometimes lead to a very aggressive Chase if you push her buttons in a fight. This female can also come off as fairly cold and distant, not wanting to get too attached to anyone because after witnessing the death of one brother and her father figure she doesn't know if she'd ever be able to go through something like that again.
She fears her past and still struggles to come to terms with it, blaming herself for the death of her brother although the guilt has slowly died down. The opposite, however, has happened with her fear of water which seems to be gradually getting worse but not to the point where she can't drink from one. Chase views herself as weak because of this and thinks that she should simply 'get over it' though however hard she tries she always ends up back at square one.
Now though, you shouldn't confuse her coldness and distant behaviour as heartless. Chase is far from it in fact. She will put her life down for others, aswell as for the greater good. The she-wolf will always put others before her even if it means risking her own life. She also doesn't judge a book by its cover, she will judge you based of who you are now, not what you have done in the past. In her opinion your past doesn't define who you are which could be seen as hypocritical as hers seems to try and define her although she does try to break away from it. She feels like her past is taking over which causes her to try and bury it deep down inside.
She is also quite smart, often being good at solving puzzles and being able to come up with creative solutions. There are times when she will let her anger get the best of her but she does manage to put up a calm front more often than not and tends to sit back and evaluate the situation before getting involved. Another one of chase's main traits, which could also be arguably her most defining one, would be her loyalty. If she pledges her loyalty to something no amount of threatening, blackmailing, bribery or anything similar could get her to switch sides or betray those she has a loyalty to. Currently she is loyal to the pack and wouldn't dream of double crossing them, the only positive thing that could possibly rival her loyalty would be her selflessness and her willingness to put others before her.
Though one of the more obvious traits to chase is her sarcasm. She has, on more than one occasion, been reprimanded for her sarcastic comments, she isn't exactly afraid to say them either. She knows how to be sensible when it is needed but her sarcasm is one of the things that [sadly] survived the journey down the river. The female doesn't tend to mock others, and she doesn't like putting others down and believes that just taking the mick of another won't get you anywhere in life but that still doesn't stop a couple of comments slipping out here and there despite her best efforts.
- ❝Mayday! Mayday!
The ship is slowly sinking
They think I'm crazy but they don't know the feeling
They're all around me,
Circling like vultures
They wanna break me and wash away my colors
Wash away my colors
Take me high and I'll sing
Oh you make everything okay (okay, okay)
We are one in the same
Oh you take all of the pain away (away, away)
Save me if I become
My demons
I cannot stop this sickness taking over
It takes control and drags me into nowhere
I need your help, I can't fight this forever
I know you're watching,
I can feel you out there”
